This is one of the oldest and most historic markets in the United States. It possesses an old world charm that is really appealing. They have a world class selection of fresh meats, fruits and vegetables and an excellent selection of pastries and sea food. Prices are usually pretty good. The market is not open daily so you will need plan ahead. They are not open on Tuesday or Thursday. Also parking can be really tight on the busier days of Saturday and Sunday. Besides all that the best thing about this market is the culture. You will meet people of all races and nationalities harmoniously getting along drawn together by the international selection of foods that they love. This truly is a great place to shop and it is also a safe place thanks to the presence of the Cleveland Police. It is also a tourist attraction as well so you will meet people from all over America and the world who have come here to Cleveland to experience our local treasure. This market truly is remarkable!

Ok, there are two separate buildings. The small one to the right as you are facing the front, in between the big building and the pub, is the produce section. You can find all kinds of fruits and veggies, fresh herbs and such for amazing prices, especially later in the day. If you go in the main building, you will find meats, cheeses, sweets and all kinds of other things. There are a couple of places serving food, a brewery in the back, a gyro place, a bratwurst spot, that you can eat at. There is fresh raw seafood, loads of different kinds of meat at various delis, a coffee shop in front, a fresh pasta spot, an herb shop, a sundries shop of sweets, cheeses, meats, grains, dried goods, etc. There is a fresh squeezed juice and smoothie bar in the back. You can find Mexican, Asian and Mediterranean ingredients. Basically, if you are looking to prep a fresh meal, you can find just about any ingredient here, plus grab a bite or a coffee and take care of that sweet tooth.

This place on Saturdays around noon is a TOTAL PARKING NIGHTMARE!!! If the city had anything more than a jelly bean for a brain they would build an attached multiple story covered parking garage 5+ levels, which would allow MORE visitors to come during peak times instead of getting frustrated and leaving... AND it would significantly increase attendance in the WINTER and cold or rainy days since no one will have to battle brutal weather conditions coming in or out with a handful of goods!! ...!!!!LIGHT BULB!!!! ...We recently visited the 7th Street Market in Charlotte NC on vacation, equivalent to WSM (but WSM is MUCH better), and they got it figured out-attached covered parking, affordable parking fee, easy in/out access..the place was PACKED, win /win/win for the vendors/ customers/city ..Poor CLE...

A World Known Cleveland Staple... however, my last trip to the WSM was not a favorable one! The fruit I bought was pretty much pushed on me. I was not able to pick the pieces of the fruits I wanted, the vendors pretty much bagged the ripest of the fruits and when that happens, it is bad in a couple days or so. I bought 4 small containers of blackberrys and within 2 days even refrigerated they were bad, and growing mold. The peaches I bought were mush in a couple days. I like to buy the fruit and have it ripen on its own. When I went inside, there was so much to choose from! The indoor vendors I had no issues with! Had a good meal in the cafe at the far end.

A local friend took us to the market to get her weekly vegetables. The market is amazing and buzzing with activity. Produce is really fresh, although I was told you have to know what vendors to go to, some will show the better produce and then give you poor quality from under the counter. The meats and fish also looked really fresh. There are also several delis and bakery stands, with delicious baked goods and breads. We also stopped by a fudge stand on one of the corners that was offering samples of really delicious fudge. We ended up bringing home two pounds of fudge (mint chocolate chip and sea salt and caramel).

Today i visited the Westside market as usual but I decided to get tomatoes for my dinner and I stopped at the BACHA PRODUCE stand and ended up with molded tomatoes they looked great on top but when I got home and looked at them I was very disappointed and then maybe not because that had been the way of some produce stands in prior years but I see things have not really changed. I will continue to purchase meat from Whitakers and a hand full of vendors that will stand behind there sales. It should be some kind of fine for the ones that sell rotten anything.

West Side Market is a pretty cool place to shop but you may want to call first and make sure they are open and check the hours. As of this week they are now open on Sundays which I feel is great. Depending on which vendor you choose to shop with I feel very meats are much fresher than Supermarket meat, prices vary but most vendors will match prices. Lots of great deals here. Love the warm season when they open the outdoor Market, real fresh vegetables and sweet fruits very good, I have no problem recommending shopping at West Side Market.

Great selection of everything from fresh veggies and fruits to fresh cut meats, ethnic foods, bread, supplies, desserts, cheeses, sausages and some really great places to get prepared foods like gyros, crepes, vegetable juices, coffee and tea and so much more. Old style city market built in 1912, awesome architecture and so much history. The diner in the market has really great food and offers alcoholic beverages, great for the night shift nurses and doctors from the nearby hospitals.

I like going to the West Side Market. Everything there is good. I always like this one venue that sells Teriyaki Smokes. Everything there is fresh and homemade. I give it 4 stars because of the produce. The stuff is fresh but not completely. The sellers can sometimes be aggressive. I like this one fruit called a rambutan. The lady kept on saying eat my grapes. I then paid for 4 rambutan. They tried to cheat me out by giving me 2 instead of 4. They were $1 a piece.

A historic location in Cleveland. Whether you are a local or visitor you must come here. There are a ton of food vendors who sell anything ranging from fresh produce, breads, bakery, Mediterranean, fish, popcorn, beef jerky, meats, spices and more. The building is gorgeous and looks even better now that they power washed the ceiling after there was a fire a while back. I recommend bringing a shopping bag with you to carry your own groceries

The West Side Market is an incredibly lively place to purchase fresh produce, a wide array of fresh meats (including an assortment of pre-seasoned steaks, chops, kebabs, loins, etc.), fresh fish, pasta, desserts and so much more from a large selection of vendors. This is also a great place to come grab a quick snack or treat, or simply to walk around and embrace the exciting atmosphere!

My gf and I visited 4 shops today in the market. The crepe restuarant which was really good except for the dry chicken. The coffee place right next to it, was tasty nothing special. The real highlights were the cheese shop and the Czuchraj Meats both had fantastic staff and both had fantastic product. I really wish I lived here in the Cle so I could return to those businesses.

The gyro stand here is the best. They were even featured on the travel channel as the best thing i have ever ate. If you do not like spicy gyro sauce i woukd not go here. They put what i believe to be hot saucevin the cucumber sauce. It is the bomb. I add a bit of sour cream and its a less spicy. Love it. Be careful with the produce they try to sell you rotten fruit.

Foodies dream of this place--so many gather here in search of quality ingredients, concoctions, and masterpieces. Honestly, this place is downright magical in the most gritty and industrial way. It takes a rugged old building of bricks and mortar and fills it with wild and bright foods from local farms and far away places. A must-visit for any food-lover or cook.

Usual and unusual foods. Popular for tourists and for everyday shoppers. Frequented by local chefs. Ethnic, prepared and specialty items as well as meats and produce. Sinful bakery goodies. Across the street from the West 25th St. Rapid stop. Plenty of free parking. Go midweek to avoid crowds. While most vendors accept credit cards, cash is easier.

A very interesting place to go. I have visited here many times with my families and friends, It is always interesting to be there. They have an amazing meat market, seafood vender, Italian food stand, Irish food stand...... I could not name them all, I always tell people who never been there, you will have to be there to feel the West Side Market.

LOVE West Side! GREAT vendors and quality products. Pro tip: park about two blocks away and walk. The parking lot is hellish on market days. Bring some bags and hit a brewery nearby for lunch afterwards. Meat deals abound...shop it out at all stands before committing to buying...prices vary of course from vendor to vendor.

Market was so so. We arrived at about 3:30 and everything was pretty much shut down. Seemed like mostly meat market. Got some overpriced smokies and left. Then found out my truck was towed in some sort of scam that is run by the place next door. Beware of K&M towing. They sit around there just waiting. Will not be returning

If you have a chance, DO NOT MISS a visit to the West Side Market. Two buildings -- one is only produce. Lots of great produce and good deals. In the other building, so many helpful and friendly shop owners happy to talk to you about their food. Love the bakeries! Found some delicious hummus and baba ganoush, too!

Cool, historic location with a variety of food merchants indoors from pastries to meats. The outdoor market has fresh produce vendors. Unique foods at good prices. Produce deals at the end of the day. But shop the neighborhood first! Lots of cool places to eat and meet with friends before shopping the market.

Crazy good deals on fresh produce, locally sourced foods, one of the few places to get affordable bison, delicious snack, dessert, and meat stands. And vanilla bean lemonade. Something for EVERYONE. Also, a quaint European foods market there that has amazing rye bread for awesome prices. Check this place out!

This is definitely a place to experience. I went a couple years ago, after touring the Christmas Story House! They have tons of fresh produce and fresh cut meats. I highly recommend the home made perogies! They have every flavor imaginable, including pb&j. (Not personally my fav, but the kids liked them!)

The west side market is a must see in Cleveland! A lot of the venders are very good at what they do! Definitely stop at the gyro place, but be ready to wait in line. The produce outside is fresh and a good deal, but they all come from large suppliers and not directly from the farmers like a farmers market

Great place to groccery shop or grab a bite to eat, a must see for out of town visitors. Amazing historical architecture, well preserved cultural food stands, produce market (give bargaining a try). Grab some pierogi, popcorn, and beef jerky for sure. The crepe stand and falafel stand are must tries too.

This is pretty much a must visit if you’re visiting Cleveland. If you live in the area, it’s a great place to buy fresh, local products and support the local economy. Everything I’ve purchased here I’ve enjoyed. I enjoy the vibes of being around everyone bustling and buying fresh food. It’s always fun!

The West Side Market is one of the Cleveland gems. There is a wide selection of vendors that sell everything from pasta to fresh fruit to meets. A great place to get some high quality food for a dinner to be made at home. Also, it is in a beautiful location and is worth visiting for that reason alone.

There were no petit fours there, which was very disappointing. But good deals on some fruit and meats. Much like hartvilles flea market but with some international cuisine stands and seafood added. Nice, but not as hype as its made out to be. Five stars if one of the vendors woulds had petit fours.

West Side Market was a foodies dream come true! From baked goods to butchers, the market has it ALL! Free parking if right outside if you get there early enough. Bring a cooler so you can stock up on fresh cut meats and cuisines, throw it in your car, and then go explore what the area has to offer.
