I’ve been a JES customer since July 2008. After 27 years of hiring and dealing with various home repair and improvement companies, JES stands out in a good way. In 2008, we received a report from our home inspector: high moisture in our crawl space that was rotting some floor joists. The engineer warned me it would be an expensive fix, but it should be done before the damage got worse. That’s when I called JES. They installed a CleanSpace Crawl Space Encapsulation System and reinforced the bad joists. In July 2011, we added a Sani-Dry dehumidifier and an Everlast door to the crawl space. In July 2016, during the annual inspection, the JES inspector told me the dehumidifier was dead and needed to be replaced and that it was out of warranty. But, the Sani-Dry dehumidifier had a warranty of 4 to 5 years (depending on the part). I still had the paperwork to prove it. I had 4 days left!! I got on the phone with George Frates, absolutely convinced that he would give me the runaround like so many companies have before. George explained to me that the warranty was actually 4 to 5 years from the date JES purchased the unit, not the install date. So, the unit was indeed out of warranty according to the manufacturer. Here’s the amazing part. Even though the unit was out of warranty according to the manufacturer, George understood my point of view and proceeded to honor the warranty from JES’s end by swapping out my broken dehumidifier with a rebuilt one (and a newer model since they don’t make mine anymore) at no cost to me at all. JES even widened the crawl space door for better access for the dehumidifier and it was at no cost to me (again, honoring their warranty). I’m so glad that I found JES. It’s rare to find a company made of knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful people who consistently treat the customer fairly.

I noticed cracks in the sheetrock over the corner of several door frames and windows. There were doors which would jam when I tried to close them. The floor on one side of the house was noticeably lower (space between floor and bottom of the wall; space between the kitchen counter top and the back splash). You could release a marble on the floor or kitchen counter top and it would roll to the outer wall. I was very concerned for the viability of the house. There were also cracks in the outside cinder block foundation wall. I called JES Foundation Repair and they sent a certified foundation inspector to come to my house. I explained everything I was seeing and he did his own "do diligence" by inspecting inside and outside. We sat down and he told me in detail what his analysis was and what would be needed to address each issue. The next day at his office, he reviewed his findings with other experts and came back to me with a plan for repairing the crumbling outer cinder block wall as well as shore up the foundation to preclude additional issues. The JES crew was very professional. They went about the work quickly and efficiently. The outside cinder block wall was reinforced with concrete, a concrete under pinning was poured, and twelve push piers were driven down to bedrock. As the push piers were installed, I could actually see the gap between the floor and wall closing until they were flush. The space between the kitchen counter top and back splash was closed up to its original configuration. After the crew had completed all work, they cleaned up the site. Both my wife and I were very happy with the results.

JES started service on my home March 27 through March 30. I am extremely pleased with how professional the team was that came to work on my home. The original inspector to the forman and three man team were highly respectful of my home, my land and my 117 year old house. They took great care to preserve my hard work in restoration of my house. The inspector was informative and experienced , explained each problem I had and how to fix it. The team explained what they were working on each day and crew changes as well if any. The crew alerted me to a plumbing issue I didnt know I had so I could fix that problem. My property was cleaned and put back just the way it always looks each day they were here, they picked up trash, contruction debri, even raking up saw dust from cutting wood. Except for the repairs done beyond my satisfaction , a by stander would never know a crew had been on my property. I have owned my property for 17 years and it pleases me to write such a glowing review. Being beyond satisfied is rare sadly but I truely will recommend JES again and invite them back for further projects on my home.Solid work, polite informative work crew, understanding of my old home and my needs as a home owner... .equals top rating Thank you JES, Audra Boykins VA 2017

I would like to thank JES for the great work I received. My house was in serious need of repair. I had previously had work by another company but they only solved part of the problem and they may have part of it worse. When JES came they discovered I had an external leak on a gas line and they notified myself and the gas company immediately. This leak had been there awhile and I had been living in a very dangerous situation all the while unknown to me or anyone else. If I did not have JES working on my foundation I might not be here today. This really hit home for me because the very next day it was in the news that many people in New York died from an explosion caused by a gas leak. I consider myself extremely fortunate that I had JES on my side and because of their know how they were able to do the right thing in this extremely dangerous situation and contact myself and the gas company thus saving my life and potentially my neighbors. The JES representative Brandon really helped me ascertain the work I needed. He helped me with the financing and Solved my problem. The men that did the construction were very respectful especially Henry who kept me abreast of all that had to be done. The other representative Chris was also very helpful

Brandon from JES came out today to conduct an inspection of our crawlspace and provide an estimate for a range of work options. Brandon was fantastic. He called the day before to confirm the appointment and again the day of the appointment when he was 30 minutes away. Very prompt arriving exactly on time. Once here, he was very patient and took time with us to go over our concerns and what we wanted him to review. He conducted an exceptionally thorough inspection and clearly demonstrated his expertise in this field. Afterwards, he sat down and showed us a series of photos as he explained his findings. He then thoroughly and objectively explained the range of treatment/repair options. It was a no pressure and very professional experience during we were able to select the right options at a fair price to fix our crawlspace issues. Brandon was also able to apply several discounts to help with the final cost. If you want things done right, JES is the company to call. Ask for Brandon. He was superb.

JES was hired to fix some foundation concerns based upon the recommendation of a friend who use to be in the business. They were great at taking pictures and showing me what needed to be addresses and the price seemed reasonable. The crew that showed up was the problem. It was three guys in an over-packed station wagon. After they were done, they just left with not a word to me. After they left I found the damage they caused. They used a hose reel box to cut wood on leaving buzzsaw cut marks on it, knocked down several bird feeders and left them on the ground and some how managed to totally destroy a flower box. Was the work even done? I have no idea because there was never any follow up visit, with or with out pictures of the work, or contact at all. I left a message with the company and filled out their on-line feedback listing these problems. I got junk mail form them for awhile, but that was it. JES prides itself on doing such good work, but on this one, they just failed outright.

JES is incredible. We bought a home that needed serious foundation repair. JES came in an assessed the problem, gave us comfort on the needed fix, and did the job quickly and as promised. They sent structural engineers out to help us understand what caused the problem and how to keep it from occurring again. Every member of the team was professional and polite. Yes, I got estimates from a few builders to do the work for a little bit cheaper than JES. If you look hard enough, you can always find a cheaper estimate for every project you do. But these other people were builders, not foundation repair experts. We decided that without a solid foundation, nothing else in our house matters. You can have the fanciest kitchen in the world, but what good is it if the foundation under the kitchen has problems? We decided to use JES, and it was the best decision we could have ever made. Two years later, the smart jack system is still in perfect alignment and the crawl space is clean and dry. I HIGHLY recommend JES.

We want to express our gratitude to inspector Chris Yi. We have had other contractors inspect our crawl space but Mr. Yi provided us with a very thorough evaluation. He pointed out the conditions of the wood, cement pillar supports, areas of instability, and even located and pointed out exposed electric junction boxes. He measured and drew a diagram pointing out all areas of concern. He took many pictures inside the crawl space. He took time to review and explain, literally giving us a clear picture and understanding of the work that needs to be completed. Mr. Yi demonstrated that he knows his job and knows it well. I was walking thru my house one day and I noticed the once solid floor now has movement in it. Upon further investigation I found several foundation items that gave me some real concern. I had called several other companies to come look at the job. When I called JES, Ryan was my first person to person contact point. He came out and did a complete inspection and even pointed out some items that the other contractors had missed. I had a serious water problem that over the years had caused some major damage. When the JES team came out to do the work, the on site Supervisor, Bobby made sure I had a complete picture of the entire job and said if I had any questions with anything to let him know. They made sure the job site was clean every night before they left. And when it was complete Bobby and Ryan made sure I was happy with no questions. Now I ask you WHAT more can you ask from a Company???

I called JES because I have the following issues in my house: Drywall cracks; uneven, squeaky floors (both upstairs and down); nails popping out of drywall; Doors that stick and windows that no longer close at the top and will not open at the bottom; a wall that is twisting; and a crack across our entry way/dining room floor. All of these things they advertise that they specialize in. When they came, they inspected and said the crawl space was too damp and sold us a very, very expensive plastic/foam wrapping and a dehumidifier that runs 24/7 and has significantly increased our electric bill. We still have all of the issues above. When I asked them what to do about them I was told to putty and paint the cracks, re-nail the floors and replace our windows. Nothing to address what was causing the issues.

We would like to thank Brandon Barlow-Spry, JES Certified Field Inspector, for meeting with us yesterday to assess moisture and insulation problems in our crawl space. Mr. Barlow-Spry arrived for our appointment on time, did a thorough inspection of our crawl space to assess and document the existing conditions. After his inspection, he presented recommendations on how JES could remediate the problems and provided a proposal that we felt was comprehensive and reasonable for the scope of work. We asked lots of questions and Mr. Barlow-Spry took the time to detail the installation process, the materials that would be used, the warranty for the work, etc. We are very happy that we contracted with JES to remediate our crawl space problems and look forward to having the work completed in November.

After having problems with the crawl space for several years I contacted JES Foundation Repair to set up an appointment for an inspection. Chris Yi did a wonderful job by taking his time inspecting the crawl space and taking pictures to point out the problem spots. He offered several proposals on how to tackle and fix the issues. Approximately one month after signing the contract work to fix the crawl space began. The JES work crew showed up every morning on time and did a wonderful job finishing the project in the time frame as promised. They were very friendly, professional, and also kept the work area clean. Thanks for a job well done. I would recommend JES Foundation to anyone at any time.
