Best Roofing of Virginia sets a gold standard of how contract work should be done. From our first phone call to them through their follow-up visit after the work was complete, it was clear our satisfaction was as important to them as it was to us. On each visit to us as sales representative and project manager, Thanh Nguyen arrived promptly. An excellent communicator and very personable, he thoroughly explained all our options, answered our questions, and inquired carefully to make sure all our questions and special concerns had been addressed. He strongly encouraged us to use GAF’s excellent website with its extensive learning tools. Thanh gave us several addresses where Best Roofing of Virginia had installed the shingles we were favoring (GAF’s Camelot II), including a project underway, so we could evaluate the shingles and the workmanship and also see the company at work. Thanh went over the contract thoroughly with us and explained each part of the estimate and the schedule. Throughout the project, he maintained close contact with us and encouraged us to call him with any questions. When we called, he was always friendly and helpful and gave us a prompt answer. After the material was ordered and delivered, the project took two days, April 6-7, 2015. Avecier and his team were meticulous about protecting our garden areas, driveway, aluminum trim, and deck furniture. They were polite, pleasant, efficient, and careful. Each step was taken with care and exceeded expectations. We had asked them to replace our old skylights. Before they did that task, they made sure the area underneath was well-protected against falling objects. The task went completely smoothly – but we’re glad they approached it with great care. Thanh was also careful in selecting the replacement vent stack parts we needed, and discussed our options with us, so they would last as long as possible with the least maintenance. To reduce overflow of heavy rain from a roof area onto the front porch, we asked them to reinstall a diverter we’d had on the old roof. They did, but went one step better. Their roof drainage expert recommended an improved solution, which they put in place. His solution is fantastic! It takes a good roofer to solve a tough roof problem. After the roof was completed, the crew cleaned up the area thoroughly. Thanh did a walk-through with us to see if we had any questions or concerns. He made sure we were completely satisfied. We were – and still are – completely delighted with the look and the effectiveness of our new roof. We highly recommend Best Roofing of Virginia without hesitation.

After talking with and getting estimates from 5 roofers, Don, the owner of Best Roofing of VA, stood out from all the rest. Right from the beginning his main concern was what I wanted done. He explained EVERYTHING I asked in detail and gave me the resources I needed to verify and educate myself about shingles, etc. He not once tried to sell me on the most expensive or the latest "must have." He showed all options and once I told him what I liked and wanted, he made it happen. I appreciated the no haggle type meeting, only honesty and to the point. Don is a very sincere person and a very upfront business man.This is why we chose his company. His cost was very reasonable especially when compared to the others who wanted to charge double for the same material! We bought the Platinum Warranty and the Natural Shadow GAF shingles and ridge vents. The men came ON TIME! They did so much on my very steep and high roof and worked very hard all day. They finished in one day then came back the next morning to make sure they had cleaned up perfectly. The men asked me if I was satisfied and made sure I was happy before leaving. Very thoughtful staff. Don made sure to come by and do a final QA walk through to make sure all was well. He answered all questions and made sure we understood the warranty and maintenance steps for the future. A few hours later her called me to give me the warranty number for my roof and reminded me of what to do after a storm and to call him if I need anything or have questions. He truly has made every attempt to have a satisfied customer and he succeeded with flying colors. Best Roofing now has a loyal customer :) . I know my review may sound overly satisfied, but we truly did have a wonderful and very welcomed experience! After the stress of buying a new home then a month later needing to get a roof, it was nice getting good service. My roof looks A+mazing !

I called Best Roofing of Virginia for an estimate on a new roof for my home and shed because they had provided great service about 2 years ago when my 20 year old roof was leaking. My now 22 old roof was still working great but it was time to replace it. My first contact was with Don who took the time to explain the GAF products they used. The next day I received a call from Ty Cox to set up a convenient time for an estimate. The appointment was set for the next afternoon. Ty was right on time for the appointment and did a great job estimating the job and was fully knowledgeable on what needed to be done. He answered all my questions and took the time to explain all aspects of the job. I had other estimates for the new roof. Best Roofing was very professional with a comparable price and I felt confident about the job they would perform. The day of the job the crew was on time and went right to work. Ty was on the job first thing making sure everything was coordinated and on schedule. Edgar was the job foreman and kept the job running smoothly and even took time to answer my questions along the way. The main house was completed in one day. The crew did a great clean up and returned the next morning to finish the shed roof. They performed the final clean up and left me with a new beautiful roof and a yard that was as clean and neat as it was before the job started. Thank you Don, Ty and Edgar for a great job.

Hermine Tested---I approved After Tropical Storm Hermine passed by recently and we did not have problems with our roof, it was time to give Best Roofing of VA their 5 star review. Before we decided on Best Roofing, we had 4 other estimates. Ty Cox came over and was on the roof in 95 degree temperatures measuring and checking things out. He answered every question thoroughly even though I asked a few questions more than once. He was patient and made us aware exactly how the whole process would work. This gave us the confidence that Best Roofing was the right choice. Even though they were not the most inexpensive, we knew Ty’s expertise would give us a worry free experience. We were correct. At first Ty said it was going to be a few weeks for installation, but he called the next week and said we were good to go. That was great considering our roof was leaking during the heavy rains at the end of July. His men arrived early and worked until 8:00 that evening with a ½ hour lunch break. Keep in mind, it was the beginning of August, so it was very hot! They also came back early the next day to finish. Clean up was satisfactory as the workers and Ty used the magnet to pick up the excess nails. We also asked Ty if he could have his guys come back for a few touch ups we wanted. His guys came back within a week and completed the job to our satisfaction.

I was looking for a Roofer, I went to Angie’s list. The only one I saw in the area were we lived was Best Roofing I contacted Best Roofing of VA for an estimate and after talking to MR Don Harrelson the owner, I was promptly contacted by Ty Cox the project manager. I found Ty to be very professional and patient and spent time with us explaining in detail about material and cost before providing the estimate. After getting additional estimates we contacted Best Roofing to do the job. Ty called me back and provided an estimated date to start and a completion date, which was the day after Thanksgiving, Ty made additional phone calls with material delivery details. The men showed up Friday and took off the old roof and started putting on the new one. They came back Saturday and completed the roof and Cleaned up the yard around the house, you would have never known that work had been done. Everyone was nice and professional. The house looks new once again thank you Ty for your kindness and professional workmanship. Yes we would be glad to recommend Best Roofing to family and friends.

We interviewed 3 companies who were rated well on Angies List. They all responded in a timely manner. We decided to go with Best Roofing of Virginia because the project manager, Than Nguyen, seemed the most knowledgeable about the needs of our structures in order to make them sound. His presentation was very detailed and included concerns about properly ventilating the roof in order to prolong the useful life of the new roof. Because of on again, off again rain, it was difficult to nail down a date to perform the work. However, Than stayed in contact with us on a regular basis and scheduled the work as quickly as the weather would allow. The garage and barn were done one day and the house 2 days later. The crew of 4 who did the work were punctual, skilled and kept the premises tidy during the work and after they were done each day. The garage and barn were done in less than 4 hours. The 2100 sf house was completed in about 10 hours. They were very thorough in cleaning up debris and nails when finished.

Overall, we were extremely satisfied with the services and work provided by everyone involved. Crew of 5 came out exactly on time in the morning and were respectful of the house and grounds and myself. Completed entire job in 1 day (and I had sub roof water damage needing repair). Once roof was stripped I was able to inspect damage and photograph (this was offered to have been done for me by the crew, but I wanted to see myself). All necessary wood was replaced, new felt paper, drip edge, fire and ice shield, and HD shingles replaced/installed. With weather being the way weather is, communication was key, and Thanh was on top of it. Dates and Times were potentially shifting left and right, but I heard from him every time something needed to be arranged whether it be the trash truck or material drop off. At the post job walk thru inspection, there was one shingle not cut correctly, and Thanh fixed it immediately. After completion the yard and surrounding area was left cleaner than when they arrived. For Communication, Experience, and Clean up, I give Thanh and Best Roofing all 5s.

Best Roofing of Virginia is a very easy company to work with. The interview was very informative describing exactly what would be accomplished. The price was very fair. They use quality materials. The project manager Thanh really knows this business. They estimated 2-3 days to complete but did it in only two days. They cleaned up at night before leaving and at the finish did a thorough cleanup especially with picking up nails. Very pleased with the roofing job they did. However, they overloaded the trailer they used to clean up the old shingles. The trailer had a flat tire. When they jacked it up to replace tires, they put too much stress on the concrete driveway. We ended up with 3 new stress cracks in the driveway. They owner of the company came to look at it. He had very poor PR with customers and said we did not have a problem and would do nothing about it. So I would never recommend this company to anyone for a new roof. The owner should get out of the business!
