The past several months of my life has brought me much pain and suffering. However, my faith, family, friends and my defending counsel, Mr. David Wooten were a source of encouragement for me. Dr. Martin Luther king Jnr, spoke of the redemptive quality of unearned suffering and I must say I was redeemed. Mr. Wooten had a renewed sense of purpose as my lawyer and it really took a mountain off my back and has allowed me to regain that sense of enthusiasm that I had coming all the way from my formative years in high school through to University. All the things that I have ever worked tirelessly to protect were plunged within the space of three months at the edge of a sharp cliff. My wildest dream came to pass when I was incarcerated behind bars without sufficient knowledge. An experience that I had scarcely imagined came to pass leaving me bewildered, melancholy, flabbergasted and torn. All my accomplishments, dreams and aspirations felt like a distant past with little or no way of rebounding. Consequently, I said to myself, here goes a brilliant, hardworking, articulate and success driven black Jamaican immigrant being falsely accused and emotionally tortured before the judicial system in Maryland. I shudder whenever I paused to think about what may befall me thousands of miles away from my homeland among complete strangers who have no idea of the impeccable academic and social standing I enjoyed back home. My family, academic colleagues, students, friends and past institutions of studies were constantly in my mind as I grapple with the distress and pressure of this most unwarranted and unexpected development. Mr. Wooten winning my case has averted a bad situation that could have resulted in a black young Jamaican with unlimited potential from ending up behind bars far away from families and well wishers. I would unreservedly recommend him to defend you! He is a stalwart in the justice system. He was tremendous at the trial and he ensured that at the end of the day the end result was in my favor. Mr. Wooten is great counsel and I will always owe him a depth of gratitude for his invaluable act of defense and help. I was wrongfully accused of sex abuse on a minor and incarcerated for 2 months. Just when my world was crumbling, David Moyse came to my rescue. David managed to shine the light of truth and justice onto the prosecution so that the charges were dismissed on the trial day. Moyse is a brilliant lawyer who is determined to provide his clients due diligence and justice. Throughout the entire process, he kept "The Special Two" and me very well informed and involved with the details and events of the case. He clearly explained documents, hearings, motions and other protocol so that I completely understood what was going on. Whenever there was bad news, David did not sugarcoat it, but rather explained the situation and how we were going to battle it. His work ethics and dedication to my case was incredible. The severity of the charges placed my case as a high priority for him and his staff who worked day and night, never missing a beat. Updates were made either by phone call, text or email at all hours of the day which is something I truly appreciated. He and his staff were always professional, responsive and courteous. They worked with me on a very personal level, treating me with respect and dignity rather than just another business client. Even though the accusation was of a very high degrading magnitude, David never judged me. He believed in me and I truly felt he wanted to help me win my case. My dad had a jury trial of First Degree Assault. He was wrongly accused of stabbing another in the chest. if he had been found guilty by the jury, he would have gone to jail for 5-10 years, and then he would have been deported. Our lawyer, Andrew Jezic, represented him in front of the jury for three days with his associate, Jamie Alvarado-Taylor. I am grateful for how hard both Mr. Jezic and Ms. Alvarado-Taylor fought for my dad every step of the way, from opening statement to the final day when the prosecutor decided to dismiss all of the charges before the case was decided by the jury! i am super happy that my dad is free to stay in this country without any problems for many more years with our family. we are grateful for Mr. Jezic for having guided my dad through this nightmare. He always treated us with respect, and listened to our ideas and interviewed our many witnesses several times in his office. At trial his cross-examination of the many witnesses against my dad showed the jury that they were lying or mistaken, and that my dad was innocent. Mr jezic showed us throughout this long and scary process that he cared for my dad and family in many ways beyond what a traditional lawyer does.

Smith showed up to court on time and quickly briefed me on the status of my case, officers in attendance, and witnesses. Raquel completely took care of everything from beginning to end. I origianally went with this firm due to the great reviews. However, I am dissapointed of how my case has been handled.Poorly explain the scope of the situation and every time I have gone to discuss the case. The attorney seemed to have no idea. I feel that a lot more attention and a lot more could of been done for my case . Communication was poorly... i was never able to reach anyone by phone to discuss in detail. I called to find out if there was a new court date and theybsaid they didnt have one. I on my own was able to look up the upcoming court date online. This firm was totally clueless in regards of my next upcoming court. I am beyond dissapointed and will seek a second opinion from.another firm. Think twice before having this firm represent you.
