I am writing this from the perspective of a consumer, as well as, a brokering agent. Our agency works with many reputable carriers, and out of them, Federated National is my absolute favorite company to work with. They are very flexible, and make writing business simple. Their customer service and underwriting department are always kind, friendly, and knowledgeable, plus there is almost never any hold time to reach a representative. If the representative isn’t authorized to help with your concern, there is always a superior immediately available, no matter how far up the chain you need to go. Federated National is also always offering luncheons, workshops, and seminars to keep you current with product information, and to get to know their agents. I have attended many of these, and always enjoy them, and come back having learned something new every time. I really can not say enough good things about this company! As a homeowner, I have purchased my insurance coverage through this company. It was a no brainer for me after my experience with the company as an agent. Even if they didn’t have the most competitive prices, I would still be choosing their company to insure my home. I have had my policy for several years now, and have not had any huge increases on my premium, and one year it even went down. I recently had to make a claim, and I couldn’t be more satisfied. I was experiencing a roof leak, and when I called in the claim, they had a local restoration company at my house drying it out, and tarping my roof with in a couple of hours, and at no expense to me whatsoever! The adjuster was in touch with me the same day, and would have come the same day to do the estimate, had I not had a scheduling conflict. He was there the very next day, on time, and very professional. He was very thorough and even taught me things to help with future maintenance. I received my estimate via email the following day, and had my check in the mail a couple of days after that. I never mentioned once to the claims department, or to the adjuster that I was my own agent, and had written my own policy. I wanted to see how they treat their customers, and for a fair assessment, I wanted to make sure I was treated the same as everyone. I was more than impressed. I would highly recommend this company from the prospective of both an insurance agent, as well as, a consumer! Great job FedNat, keep it up!

Worst experience ever that i have had and am still having. I am still on my case trying to get them to fix my car after i was hit by a negligent driver. I have comprehensive insurance and i have been on them since 5th April that the accident happened and nothing has been done. My car has become immovable. I cannot even get into the car as the battery has run down due to the trunk lid being open since the accident. My key cannot even open my car anymore. I have had rental car for the past one week which came off my pocket even though i have rental in my insurance. I have never been able to speak with my adjuster since the day of the accident. Left her several voice messages that up until now have not been returned. The customer representatives are always quick to transfer you to your adjuster without trying to hear you out and see how they can help. My case is still on. My car is still parked in my compound and am as good as not having insurance at all. The most painful thing here is that nobody is speaking to you or following up. Even the supervisor that you are being transferred to goes to voice message. You therefore begin to wonder if they actually have human beings working for them or just machines speaking to you. This is very frustrating and if you were considering this company, be warned. Update: I took drastic steps and after that sent email to my adjuster and ever since then, its been smooth all the way. She responded to my emails and my checks were sent. My car has been fixed and they are currently processing my car rental refund. They are not that bad after all. They do not have office in Texas and they have a lot of claims and few adjusters to handle their claims. So this actually affects how fast they will treat your case. I am happy with the outcome. Therefore, i am giving them 3 star.

worst experience ever that has affected us permanently. We had an insurance company we were very happy with. No problems with claims and it was a good policy. our agent suggested this company upon renewal of our policy this year because there was a significant savings. we did some research and read almost all bad reviews about this company. we expressed this concern to our agent (and will also be pursuing a remedy from them directly) but they continued to back this company. We are assuming at this point there was a financial incentive since several other customers of the agency were also switched. Low and behold the exact complaints we read online happened to us. we completed our application in November, were insured effective December . Showed up unannounced on a friday at 5pm to do our inspection then over 30 days later, 60+ days after the policy was applied for they drop us because of the age of our roof and a rotten back door frame (that i can deal with and fix) the roof is less than 20 years old and there are no leaks anywhere. they did not get up on the roof and inspect it. Now not only did they cancel us but because we switched and are cancelled we need to start over with other insurance companies who will also do an inspection now. If we would have stayed with the original one we were with we would not be in this situation. Very very unhappy with the company and the agency. unacceptable to have such bad reviews all with the same complaints regarding either claims or getting cancelled in the beginning. All lured in by the premium savings. If you can save yourself this situation please do. i wish we would have

I am an agent that has worked with Federated National for 4 years and have consistently have written new business with them. This past month has been a whirlwind with the Hurricane Irma and all of the claims. Claims is never a fun process and is very difficult because approximately 50% of the calls that are received and filed are not claims. So most of the complaints that are made against a company is more about what is covered in the policy and not against the company. Most people treat their policy like a warranty and not a homeowners policy. The claims process is very difficult and tedious, so it does take time with all insurance companies. Since hurricane Irma, we have had multiple clients call us up and tell us how satisfied they were with Federated and how fair they thought the payout was. I cant say that this has been true for all insurance companies but I will tell you that the clients that had real claims have been happy with their service. I, as an agent, felt not only compelled to tell Federated but also write a review because we rarely, if ever, get compliments after a claim. We are happy to represent Federated National and feel confident writing their policies.

Terrible service and Nuvantage Insurance as my agent has not been any help. After only two years since their initial home inspection from purchasing our home, we received a letter offering a "complimentary random" inspection which turned out to be "mandatory" . After asking our agent(Nuvantage) to question the need for this inspection after only two years we received no return reply other than an email two weeks later that our policy needed to be rewritten because we refused an inspection . After being bullied into the inspection, they have determined that our oak tree in the front yard needs trimmed back and that we had 10 days to comply or be faced with a letter of non renewal. No one else seems to want to offer insurance in Florida so the lack of competition produces these results. Have yet to find a link to give a bad rating to Nuvantage Insurance, still trying. Over $4000 of premiums paid means nothing to Federated or Nuvantage. Have to wonder how they behave when you have a claim.

Wish I could give Federated National ZERO stars . This is by one of the worst experiences and you should trust the bad reviews. when you see any good review please note it is never from someone who needed help or had a claim. That is when you find out the true quality and integrity of a company. THE CEO is worth millions all on the back of consumers. Not only do they do not honor the policy, they are cold and cruel without either common sense or compassion . Funny, how after a bad review you get encouraged to call a marketing director........what a joke. Instead let me know when Michael Braun is available to really care and solve a problem. Please do not hold your breath. I have given up and in despair. In the face of grief there is no compassion. PLEASE stay away. MY family experience is beyond sad and I never want anyone to deal with what we have had to endure.

They cancelled our policy 3 months after inception because we had a claim within the past 3 years (according to the notice they sent us) , which was clearly indicated on our application. Our agent checked with them on the notice and they said the real reason was we had trees touching the roof, which we trimmed. They then said that was ok but had an issue with a gate to our back yard (I have taken pictures of it 3 times now). So their final issue was an insecure gate, (which is NOT the main gate). The thing is they sent their own inspector out who took pictures and commented on the pool and fence. Edit - I received a call from the CEO after sending an email to them. He said they had made a mistake and were reinstating me, which they have done. Kudos to Mike Braun for getting involved.

I work with Federated National (Thru SageSure Insurance Managers in South Carolina) as an insurance agency owner and I also work with many other insurance companies. Fed Nat does a terrific job. I had my own homeowners insurance with them for a few years with no issues. Great policy forms, quick responses when needed. I think a lot of the people with bad reviews actually comes back to their agent not being responsive and being the advocate. That is your agent failing, not the insurance company. I will also say that there are TWO Fed Nats in reality. One operates in Texas while another is operated by a company called SageSure Insurance Managers. The Fed Nat that writes homeowners insurance in South Carolina is GREAT to work with.

They do not even deserve even one Star. The company is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with starting with the operator all the way to management. We have been trying to get in contact with the so called adjuster for over 2 weeks to no avail. We have called everyday as well as sent personal emails each day 5 a day and still have not heard from the adjuster. Every person you speak with has an excuse. Very unprofessional, now if the tables where turned and they needed there money they would be on the phone harassing you constantly. If this issues is ever resolved we will be shopping for new insurance. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AT ALL....

Worthest insurance company ever seen. I hope there has a opinion of zero star or negative star. someone hit my car and she is insurance under this company. I try to get a rental car and they ask me to payour at first and pay me back. however I am under 21 and I cannot get one without insurance give me the reservation number. Wasted 5 HOUR to call the adjustment person and every time they transfer they always go to voice mail [BTW after the estimate, it is no way to reach the adjustment people] also it took about a month and half for the check to come out. For any one who is insurance under this company good luck when you try to fix your car.

I bought my house in febuary of 2016. It was a forclouser that has been vacant for some time and need some tlc. Fednat has been a headache from day one. To top it off payment due dates get changed, my policy almost got cancelled. I stoped getting mail and bills. It showed a "enrolled" in paperless statements. It took me three attempts to remove my self from that and get real paper ststements. Do not make the mistake I did this company does not care about you or your dwelling rude customer service! I cannot wait till my policy is up in February I look forward to leaving!
