After a humiliating experience of going through a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, Kenny at Peoples Bank offered me the opportunity to obtain a mortgage for a new home only 2 months after the bankruptcy discharged. All other banks and credit unions require a waiting period of 1-2 years. It took a couple of months to close on the loan because I was also dealing with a "zombie" home in Florida that my name needed to be removed from prior to FHA approval of the loan. That proved to be a long and frustrating process; however, Kenny and Marilyn never gave up on me and guided me through the steps necessary to accomplish this. (My advice to anyone who has experienced a bankruptcy where the bank never foreclosed on the home (zombie home), is to clear that matter up first before attempting to secure a new mortgage.) Otherwise, the process went smoothly and I would recommend Peoples Bank highly for those who are ready to move forward in life after bankruptcy. The interest rate was pretty good too at 4.5%. Thanks Kenny and Marilyn! I love my new home and it feels amazing to be back on my feet again!!

I had the best experience dealing with People Bank, particularly, with Frank Linden who was not only professional, but very easy to reach with all my annoying questions even on week-ends-thank you so much Frank! Once the process started, getting all the paper work gathered (usually this is a painful process) was pretty easy and efficient.
