My husband and I were ready to take the next step in our life. We wanted to buy our first home. I knew nothing about buying a house! So I got on the phone and started to call around. Most people I talked to sounded too busy to answer my questions and just wanted me to fill out the application right away. Then I call Fairway and I spoke with Louise. She was so kind and patient with me. We set up an appointment to meet with Marie. When we met with Marie she walked us threw everything! She found out what we wanted and what we were comfortable with. All of my questions were answered even if they were silly. I would call or text her and she always replied promptly! We did hit a bump in the road through this process though and had to wait it out for just a little while. We followed Marie’s advice and did all the steps that she told us to and she got us approved!! I could hear the excitement in her voice when she called me. Marie literally is a miracle worker. The whole Fairway Mortgage team is! My husband’s credit score jumped and boom we were out looking at houses. I would text or call Marie with home information and she would give me the mortgage payment (give or take a few dollars). Then we found our dream home. I had to have it and we put in our offer! This is when we needed to get more paperwork in. Piece by piece everything was coming together. You always have someone there to walk you through it all. Everyone is so kind and they truly want to see you achieve what you set out for. They all work so hard to get you in your home. It can get frustrating and difficult at times but everything is so worth it. My husband, our two boys and I have our beautiful first home. I get to raise my boys here and I couldn’t be more grateful. Marie, Dawn, Louise, Mike and the whole team made our dream of being home owners a reality. Threw even the downs they hold your hand threw it all. I’m so glad we got to work with them and if we ever decide to do it again they would be the only ones I call! When deciding where to go to get financing for a home we did a lot of research. Because banks only offer a few options we didn’t think we’d get the best deal through them. And we were right. When searching online for mortgage financing in Whatcom County, one name kept coming up. Marie Bjornson. Every review written about her was 110% accurate. From the first phone call to the closing of our home, Marie was there for us. She did not waste our time. She was upfront and honest about what she could do and she saved us so much money. We thought we would have to pay a lot more on our down payment but we didn’t because she found a grant that we were eligible for. She kept money in our pocket.
