4 years ago, my husband and I moved from Florida, so we had never experienced much cold weather. We bought a home built in the 1990s so we didn’t think we needed to do anything in order for the house to be comfortable in the wintertime. We could not have been more wrong, the house was drafty, our downstairs was always freezing cold and the heat was constantly running so our gas bills were over $450 every month. We started looking around and were almost overwhelmed with the variety of information available. There are lots of different contractors and franchises that only want to take your money. It seemed every one of them was trying to sell us something different that we ‘needed’ We were very turned off and put off the entire project. Later that same year, in the Fall of 2016 we met Mike with Summit Insulation at a local home show. Summit had a display showing how they can re-insulate older homes from the outside with a non-expanding foam. Having already heard and seen everything, we felt like this really made sense and Summit was also a small, family run business - for the last 38 years! We decided to have Mike come meet us at the house for an estimate. Mike was on time, professional, and seemed to enjoy spending time with us, explaining why we were having these issues and problems in our house. With winter approaching we decided to give Mike and Summit Insulation our business. They came out late October to fully insulate our exterior walls as well as air seal and insulate out attic space. Chris, the crew foreman, showed up early that morning and walked us through everything they were going to be doing that day and in specific order. Chris was a joy to work with, I don’t think he stopped smiling the whole day and it seemed to radiate on his crew as well – all great guys. They treated our house with care and respect while doing their work. Good, bad, or ugly, I told Mike I would write a review of our experience online. Fast forward to today – having gone through our first winter AND summer with a newly insulated home, WE COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED! Our house was kept warm in the winter, cool this summer, and our bills went down significantly! To anyone considering getting their home insulated, we highly recommend Mike, Chris, and the rest of the Summit Insulation team! Thanks again! The McAdams Family

Summit was contracted to place domes in the attic on ceiling light fixtures and to spray insulation on the wall and floor of a bathroom above a garage. When they arrived on site I was at work but informed by phone that they did not have domes that worked with my recessed light fixtures and would seal around the bases only and that they finished the bathroom floor and wall insulation. When I came home I cut a hole in the garage ceiling and there was no new insulation on the bathroom floor. They had attempted to inject the floor insulation but it only covered a section of the floor. When I checked in the attic some of the recessed lights were not sealed. I had an energy audit a week later and they said the seal at the base was not adequate and that the lights needed the domes. The owner of Summit said he did not have the domes my fixtures needed. Summit came back and sealed the fixtures they missed in the attic and properly injected insulation in the bathroom floor. However, If i had not checked the work it would have been missed.

So I first discovered Summit at the Parkville fair. I gave them my information and they contacted me and came by for a home consultation. I was originally interested in just getting my attic insulated, but they insisted on giving me a 30 minute presentation explaining to me that what I really want, is there flow in insulation that they install by drilling holes in the side of your house. The price the guy quoted me seemed very high, but I was still open to seeing what we could work out. He indicated that the first step before anything though, was getting a home energy audit for $100. I agreed, and he said someone from their office would call me to schedule this. Well, that was last September. At this point, it has been 6 months, and I NEVER received any follow up of any kind.

Had my house insulated in december and have had very positive results. The crew was on time and very courteous while on the job and answered all the questions that I had. Our home is much more comfortable and the drafts have disappeared, that were so bad before. I would highly recommend this company and product.
