We had the exact same experience! Except they told us everything was fine and that we were preapproved (even have letter to prove it) only to find out the day of closing that they would not qualify us. No particular reason was given that could not have been adressed weeks earlier, just left us high and dry without apologies on the day of closing. I would also advise to stay away from these people.
