As a Contracts Manager, I deal with dozens of contactors and rarely will a contractor get exceptional ratings in all business evaluation categories – Quality of Product/Service, Schedule, Cost, Business Relations and Management. However, after doing business with Heritage Pools, Michael and his team easily deserve exceptional in all categories! Michael specializes in vinyl pools and at first we weren’t convinced to go with vinyl. However, after much research on various pool types and constructions, we decided a Gunite pool was not cost effective due to the high cost of materials, installation and potentially even higher repair costs down the road. So then we took a look at fiberglass pools. We talked with many fiberglass pool installers and after getting some quotes, we started to question if a fiberglass pool was our best choice. Besides the fact that with fiberglass, we were limited on shapes, size and color, the high water table in the Charleston is not favorable to fiberglass and the prices seemed high for a product that looks like an oversized tub. So, back to Heritage Pools met with Michael again who showed us hundreds of pictures of cracked and unlevel fiberglass and Gunite pools, poor equipment installations and shoddy work of other contractors that his company had repaired. Michael worked with us on different designs, shapes, sizes, colors, coping, lighting and equipment to fit both our yard and budget. We felt comfortable going forward and were not disappointed. His team showed up every day and when the weather wasn’t cooperating, they still came and worked as long as possible. The Heritage team kept me up to speed, explained the build process and was great to work with. The pool came out beautifully! The desert coping color highlights the decking and the pool interior and the multicolor LED light is amazing at night. We use an Ionizer to clean the pool and have found it works great and easy to maintain. Heritage Pools have done a commendable job and have given us total satisfaction. We’re really glad that we went back to Heritage and decided to go with Heritage on a vinyl pool. The best part is when our neighbors with Gunite pools come over and see ours, they’re amazed at the quality and when they hear the price, they’re kicking themselves!!

I stopped by the office at Heritage pools (unannounced) looking for information on building a pool. I had a rough idea of what I wanted, and had been doing research on other companies prior, and found positive reviews on Heritage. Michael, the owner, not only took the time to meet with me and explain all of the different options when building a pool, but he offered to personally take me to a few of his clients so I could see their pool. He did not pressure me into anything, but was thorough and detailed in answering all of my questions and concerns. He also encouraged me to visit other clients on my own (which I did) - Every client said the same thing: "Michael is a perfectionist and was involved in every step of the process - he cares so much and has so much passion for what he does" Even after all of this, I still did my "due diligence research" and visited a few big-name local pool companies and none of them gave me the same peace of mind - in fact one company seemed really annoyed that I showed up without an appointment - AND I was always talking with the company "sales people" which made a big difference to me. The decision on who to build a pool with was an extremely important one for us - we wanted quality and peace of mind that it would be done right, and would last for a long time,and while I certainly wanted a fair price, quality was more important for us than pinching the wrong pennies. In the end we clearly chose Heritage (it was a no-brainer) and like everyone else had said, Michael was involved every step of the way - even when I threw curve balls at him by changing our construction date, and other last minute changes. He was always available and responded to questions day or night, 7 days/week. He is so committed and delivers a level of customer service that is very hard to find anymore. (He even surprised me by having our pool finished a week early) I should also mention that every single person that we encountered that works for Heritage was awesome as well. We love our pool and could not be happier with the decision that we made.

Randall-We purchased our house in August 2011, our first house with a pool. Prior to the purchase, I contacted Michael, owner of Heritage Pools, about doing a pool inspection prior to the closing. Michael came out and conducted an inspection (inspected the pipes, pump electric, and liner). The liner was in poor conditions due to the lack of proper care. He gave me some recommendations to prolong the life of the liner. He refused any payment for the inspection and his time! After closing on the house I had Michael come out again and discuss converting the pool from chlorine to salt water. After agreeing on the conversion price, Michael and his crew had the salt conversion done within two days. His crew was extremely professional and extremely friendly. They also were very patient with me and all of my questions. In February 2012 my wife and I decided to get a new liner. Again, I called Michael and he came out to the house and we discussed all of the options. He broughts samples upon samples of liners. With his assistance and knowledge, we picked out a new liner. Mark began the installation on a Thursday, water began going in on a Friday. The pool was completely filled by Sunday. Mark came over to the house on Saturday and Sunday to make sure everything was okay. On Monday he came over and completed the installation. Again, Mark, like everyone at Heritage Pool, was extremely professional and extremely kind to my seven year old who watched the entire process and had a lot of questions. Based on the extremely positive experiences I have had with Michael and Heritage Pools, I highly recommend them to anybody with any pool questions or need. Heritage Pools is a first class operation!

To the Rescue: The water table in our yard is very high, and our pool is located just feet away from a lake. When another pool company dewatered the pool to replace the liner, the side of the pool cracked and a stream of water, sand and mud poured into the pool. Attempts to pump out the ground water from around the pool were unsuccessful. We were beginning to think that the pool was history. I spoke with some other pool companies in the area. They all recommended the same action – call Heritage Pools. Thanks to Heritage we now have a viable pool with a new liner. They systematically added well points and tested conditions until they were confident that the pool could be dewatered safely. Once the pool was successfully dewatered, they moved quickly to reinforce and repair the impacted parts of the pool. Their personnel were always professional and methodical in their approach. Michael, the owner, stopped by daily to assess the project’s progress. We received explanations and thorough communications from Michael and his team throughout the process. I highly recommend Heritage Pools to anyone considering a pool for their yard, or in need of a liner replacement or other pool repairs.

Heritage Pools performed the following: rust removal & sealing, installing a well point, replumbing the skimmer and main drain, adding rock and hopper, replaced the skimmer, replaced the pump basket, replaced the sheet metal patch over the old light fixture, and replaced the vinyl liner. The project started out as a vinyl liner replacement, but since the pool was so old, it needed a lot of work. Heritage notified me each step of the way with the issue, the risks, the alternatives, and the costs. Heritage also saved me approximately $750 by reusing parts and performing minor tasks along the way. Their sound recommendations will help prevent additional costs in the near-term. The crew sent me pictures during the process so I could see the work since I was not able to be there. I am truly appreciative of the work Heritage Pools performed at my house. The professionalism of the crew and customer service was above and beyond my expectations! It was truly a pleasure working with Marc and Ashley on this project. I will gladly go back to Heritage Pools for any future pool needs.

I was recently looking at purchasing a home that had an inground pool, I contacted Heritage Pools to see if they would do an inspection of the pool and equipment. They said they would be glad to help and the owner Michael and one of his employees arrived as scheduled on time and were very professional, he spoke with the home inspector and went to work inspecting everything to do with the pool. After they completed their inspection he walked me and my agent around and showed us exactly what he would be putting on the report and explained how it would need to be addressed. He was able to give us ball park figures for repairs and again was very professional. When his report was sent the next morning it was very well laid out and explained everything in detail. Unfortunately the deal with this home fell through however I would recommend Heritage Pools to anyone I know!!! Thanks again!!

Michael and his people put in a great pool for us and their customer service has not stopped after the job is done. Being 1st time pool owners we have ran into little questions here and there and Michael and his team have made sure to answer them all. We are also very confident in the structure of the pool after watching it be installed and it has even survived its first major flooding with no issues. I am sure we could have went elsewhere for maybe less money and it might have taken less time to install, but the quality of not only the product but the service before, during and after the installation makes going with Heritage Pools well worth it! Great job guys!!!

We purchased a new home and decided to have a pool installed This was our first experience with a pool and we are certainly glad we contacted Heritage for a quote. The pricing was competitive and Michael and all his crew were all extremely professional, knowledgeable and made sure we knew what was going on each step of the way. The construction is a unique method well suited to the low country with our soft and wet ground conditions. Once the pool was completed they made sure the chemistry of the water was correct and explained how I could maintain it myself if I desired. I recommend these guys to anyone. Looks great as well!

Barbara 2/23/12 We contracted Heritage Pools to take care of our pool 4-5 years ago .They replaced our pool liner,converted our system to salt/pump instead of chlorine and do our maintenance. They do exactly what they say they will do! We rarely ever have a problem with our pool(because Heritage anticipates problems and prevents costly repairs) but if I DO call with a question or problem, they respond immediately. Their pricing is appropriate. The people that come to do the work are intelligent,polite and efficient. I have referred several people to them who have hired them and have tthe same excellent experience.
