This morning I awoke feeling extensively ambitious, but instead of tackling a household project solo that would ultimately turn into a week long ordeal. I decided to call the professional electricians at 5 Star Electric. Upon calling 5 Star I was greeted by the incredibly helpful Courtney who swiftly scheduled an appointment for that same day. That afternoon Bruce arrived on time with an exact plan for the installation of the LED can lights and ceiling fans I wanted. He measured and mapped out everything perfectly and listened to precisely what I wanted and offered advice on upgrades such as dimmers, switches, LED lights and even the fan. After quickly gathering the required materials Bruce was joined by a fellow electrician Heston. As a team they quickly tarped all my furniture and prepped the room for the install. In no time at all my used-to-be dim-lit and stuffy living room was bright and fresh air circulated. The entire install and cleanup was completed before the Misses returned home from work. I even contemplated taking all the credit, but my conscious got the best of me and I had to get on here and give huge props to the team at Five Star Electric. Great customer service, value and expertise. Thanks so much Courtney, Bruce and Heston. The name says it all 5 Star service, will certainly be a repeat customer.

In June of 2016 5 Star Electric replaced an old 100 amp electrical panel at my rental in San Luis Obispo in a timely manner. Bruce coordinated with PG&E, secured required local permits and insured the work passed city inspection. Being that I do not live in California Bruce kept me up to date via email and phone calls on all aspects of the project and supplied pictures of the completed project. This is the third electrical project that 5 Star Electric has completed at my house. As always Bruce is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I would recommend 5 Star Electric to anyone seeking excellent electrical services. Comment from 2014: Bruce arrived for our appointment on time and within an hour identified a bad circuit and restored power. Bruce also pointed out really old wiring that is not up to code and is a safety issue. Bruce took steps to abandon those circuits that he deemed a fire hazard. Bruce provided a bid to fix the wiring issues in a timely manner. Bruce and his crew did an excellent job bringing our electrical wiring up to current standards.

Very impressed with this Company. I had someone come to look at the job on a Monday and they were ready to fit me in the following day! I waited till that Friday, it being my choice.Unfortunately I was unable to be there since we live out of town. I had my interior decorator there to instruct them where and how far chandeliers were to be hung (two) one being about 40lbs that was to be hung above a stair landing. Once the chandeliers were hung, she could not speak highly enough of the two men that did the work. She said she would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a great electrician. I have had several people come to give estimates but they have never returned calls, I can only assume the job was a difficult one.This was the only company that seemed to be confident enough and not lazy to do the job. They did a great job cleaning up afterwards as well. Great work, very happy customer. Thank You !!!!!

I was adding new lighting to an extra bedroom which I have done previously, however, the wiring on this job was a little more difficult than expected. It was mid week after 4:00 p.m,when I made a call to 5 Star Electric. I was only expecting to leave a message and maybe get a return call for an appointment the next day. To my surprise, within minutes, I received a return call from Bruce. He was finishing up a job and heading back in my direction and moments later literally, he was knocking at my door. Within a few minutes Bruce ascertained the problem I was having. About one hour later the job that I was struggling with was complete. Bruce was friendly, courteous and professional. Here is why you should go with 5 Star Electric, as I see it: 1. Bruce gives a proper diagnosis (which was key to getting some coverage from my home warranty insurance) 2. Work is done with proper parts & labor, no cheap shortcuts 3. Cost of job was exactly as proposed in the estimate 4. Very minimal modification was done on my rooftop 5. Gave me option of a cheaper or better repair job, rather than pushing the more expensive job 6. Work was done on schedule, and on time 7. Staff (Courtney) worked with me to get this all done on my preferred dates 8. It is VERY DIFFICULT to find a contractor at a beach community who will show up on time, finish the job, and meet all of your expectations--5 Star did all of this. 5 Star Electric will be my recommendation for anyone needing an electrical contractor

Bruce has done two jobs for us at our home in Los Osos. When we first moved in he came out in less than 24 hours to install a ceiling fan. It was a warm day and he had to crawl through a very small attic door to get to the job but was always happy and smiling. In the end he came in under the price of the original bid! We just recently had Bruce and Tom out to install tract lighting in our living room. They did the job in record time and it has made a HUGE improvement in the space and the conduit etc are barely even noticeable. Great work and very friendly to even allow us to keep a tall ladder of theirs for a week to complete some painting we did on the job. I recommend the team to anyone doing any level of job, great company.

Excellent contractor - scheduled estimate visit quickly and arrived on time. Estimate arrived within an hour via email. Work to install an outlet for electric vehicle charging (NEMA 14-50) was scheduled for a few days later. Once again arrived at the time promised. Work was done efficiently and neatly by Tommy and Bruce, working with me to place junction box and outlet where I wanted them. Drywall removed for access was done so carefully it was easy to reinstall the removed piece and tape and texture. Best of all was after the job was completed, the original invoice was SIGNIFICANTLY reduced based on fewer than expected hours and less material used. Building inspection the next day was a breeze.

Wow! From start to finish, Bruce has been incredibly professional, helpful, and a delight to work with! I sent out three requests for bids to local electricians, and not only was Bruce the only person who responded, but he replied within 24 hours and gave me great information at the start. His bid was entirely reasonable, and the work was done quickly - he even submitted the paperwork for the permits! I feel as if I received 5 Star treatment for sure, and everything works great. They even left the garage in better condition than they found it after the work was done! I highly recommend this company!

Heston was not only on time for our appointment, he called first and was actually early! Unheard of! I knew then we were off to a good start. He quickly pinpointed the troublesome/broken areas that needed fixing and efficiently set to work. Within an hour the GFI outlet, the porch light and the office light switch were all working again!. To top this all off, he was professional, pleasant and obviously qualified to be working on the electrical system on our house. I passed my electrical inspection! Thanks to Bruce, my electrical inspection went smooth, like a hot knife through butter. Everything went exactly as Bruce said it would. Bruce wired everything up, checked all of the work I had done on my own, and he gave me helpful hints and advice all along the way. This was my second experience with Bruce. 5 Star Electric is truly 5 star! Electrician was polite and came early with my permission. He was in and out and very professional. Tommy and Ian did a great job installing a handful of light fixtures in our home, both new lights that required running wire to new places and basic replacement fixtures. i had a light switch which was in a VERY inconvenient place. Asked if it could be moved and I always got the answer that changing location was complicated and expensive. Well, lucky me.
