Re: by Richard Woodruff This is about the SPCA on Congress St in New Port Richey. I was sold a 2003 Ford Econoline van with the intent that there was nothing wrong with the van, motor or transmission with the exception that it needed front end work. I drove the van home it shaked and shimmied when shifting gears. When I checked the transmission there was no fluid in there. I took it to the shop and they said that the transmission needed rebuilding. They also found out extensive rust holes through the frame and the roof. There was a lot of electrical issues also. They refused to give me my money back or even part of my money back. The title that they gave me was not signed by a approved person and could not sign it and also scratched out parts of it. Bureau refused to accept this signature so I had to go to someone else to have an approval letter. Basically they would not do anything. Total disregard for safety by the frame being rusted out on the vehicle.

The Better Business Bureau serving West Florida was a tremendous success in helping my family resolve an issue that we couldn’t resolve on our own. My family was recently in a turbulent situation where we had been taken advantage of by a large company to say the least. My complaint was valid yet to no avail could I get any resolution on my own. Wisely, I sought the help of the BBB & before I knew it I had what felt like an Army working day & night for my family! My family thanks our local Better Business Bureau serving West Florida immensely & feels blessed to know that we have an organization we can trust to help advance our local marketplace trust. BBB has Excellent Customer support : I have used the BBB to resolve issues I have had with businesses in the past and they have always helped me resolve the issue. And now they have gotten even better with the online process. Recently had an issue with HERTZ rental car charging me for a toll road which my Fastrak already paid for. BBB helped me to get Hertz to dismiss the charges. BBB Contacted Hertz and followed up with several E-mail to make sure I was happy with the result. I am glad they exist to help customers like me, when we can’t resolve issues with companies.

Ernest Aarnaes Painting Inc. I understand there may have been a bad review submitted for this painter. I have used his services since 2011 with nothing but excellent results. He has painted my house, roof, repaired my roof, cleaned and sealed my roof, cleaned and sealed my driveway. In all cases his estimates were always fair and accurate, always held at the price he gave. If there was a delay, it was usually due to the weather, and he advised me well in advance if there would be a delay. I would recommend him without reservation to anyone.

The BBB is so disorganized that it is nearly impossible to resolve an issue. I had score lowered from an A+ to a C+, overnight, because they state that we "did not respond". We have no idea, whatsoever, what they are referring to, and neither do they. Pretty tough to respond to an imaginary issue, or one that they have no record of. Even worse, is that customers will actually look at the BBB score to make a decision, and the score is based on inaccurate information.

Filed a complaint which obviously alleged serious unethical practices of a business. The response I got dispelled my complaint as if it was nothing. No investigation. There is no point reaching out to theae people. They only protect their donors (the businesses). The consumer is squelched so they go away quietly. They should change their name to "Reputation Guardians For Hire".

Be very careful with FAT GUYS. I had them mow for the first time a couple of days ago. They ran over my sprinkler hose ripping it apart then left without telling me. I discovered it and called them right away. He said he knew nothing about it and wanted to see it the next day. He never showed up or returned a call to me. Shady!!
