My ex-husband and I used Larry King 12 years ago to mediate our divorce and parenting plan for our daughter. We decided to use a mediator instead of attorneys so we didn’t spend a ridiculous amount of money negotiating what could be handled through a mediator. We called Larry’s office which at the time was only one of a few mediators with good reviews. Even though he was in Westminster and we were in Parker we decided to see what this was all about. Our call was answered promptly and we were scheduled for our first appointment within a couple weeks. Larry was respectful and calm during the entire process. We negotiated our divorce over several months to make sure we covered everything regarding our daughter who was 7 at the time and any future issues so we would not have to return to mediate again. We negotiated everything from private school tuition and college to an activity allowance per month and items like school supplies and a school fees. Larry helped us navigate through all items that could come up in the future. The final memorandum that was created for our case has been referred to many times over the last 12 years and we always found the answer because it was so thorough. We are a divorce success story if there is such a thing. Our daughter will be 19 years old in a couple months and is enrolled in college. We have never had to return to mediation for anything because of all the upfront work we did with Larry. I recently reached out to Larry to make sure that my ex-husband would not need to file any paperwork with the state to terminate the child support he pays. It was so refreshing to see that he still answers emails promptly and was able to help us with the answers we needed to end my ex-husbands child support obligation. Thank you Larry! You are truly a professional in your field and we are so glad we chose you to navigate this process with us!

Bottom line: Larry King is a terrific mediator. It’s obvious that he’s very experienced and able to quickly move through the issues. My wife and I had a complex situation which he navigated quickly and smoothly. Divorce is a difficult time and he was able to keep us on track and reach an equitable resolution. His approach to division of assets, always a major part of a divorce settlement, is very quantifiable. He has a great technique of displaying an accounting spreadsheet showing the division of each asset. It’s straightforward and easy to understand. Neither my wife or I had separate attorneys (thank god). Larry saved us what I would estimate to be at least $25,000, had we each been paying separate attorneys. It could have cost a lot more if the attorneys stirred the pot. At our initial meeting, Larry stated the obvious: With millions of divorces in court records, the laws are well established and guidelines are straightforward. If we had employed separate attorneys, there is a limited amount of real differences that can result. The laws are well defined, there is a lot of history in this field and paying a couple extra lawyers to eke out small differences in favor of one spouse over the other is not cost effective. Very, very likely, after a lot of anguish and bad feelings, the final results, one way or the other will be minimal. The cost to go through the process with two lawyers could be horrendous and probably a BIG MONEY LOSING EXERCISE when any net gains to a spouse are considered.

I cannot stress how helpful it was having Lawrence King facilitate our divorce. My husband and I had been married 27 years, and I felt overwhelmed by the idea of divorce, let alone mass of papers the process required. We have two children, full time careers, and had accrued all our possessions, life insurance, IRA’s, etc. together over 30 years. Even so, it took only a few meetings with Larry, most via distance, to reach a fair settlement. Larry kept us focused and helped us see where our ideas for splitting assets needed to be rearranged by offering alternatives. He is able to view the process through the eyes of a lawyer, yet guide the process through the lens of a facilitator. Divorce is painful and overwhelming, and there is no need to take on additional stress when there is an expert in the field who is able to do so at a very reasonable cost. Even the judge was impressed by the thoroughness and fairness of our settlement. Thanks to Larry for providing a much needed service.

I had a very positive experience with Divorce Resolutions. Our situation was complicated because of separately held properties, and a long term separation before working on our divorce. Larry was very efficient and we were able to get through the process in only a few meetings. He is also very observant and could tell there was an issue I would even bring it up.
