I just recently set up an account with UFCU on the recommendation of some friends/family. From the beginning i noticed that almost all of my transactions were coming in about 4 days later than i was making them! These transactions are not from small businesses and bars, but from simple purchases that on my Wells Fargo account would appear instantly; e.g. Shell/Exxon gas purchases, HEB grocery purchases, and pretty much everything that I was using my card for. So of course, with this kind of delayed processing it makes it very hard to manage finances online. Thus OVERDRAFTS! 40 dollar overdrafts!! I recently overdrafted 19 cents over my balance over a purchase that happened 5 days before. When i tried to explain the situation to the customer rep, I was greeted with skepticism and blame on my behalf.. No negotiation, not even an interest to resolve my concern. Which I thought was very strange seeing how so many people complement the customer service at ufcu.... Apparently if you are temporarily short on cash then it is a reason to take advantage of you. If you live paycheck to paycheck i definitely suggest going with a bank which can respond a little faster to reflect your balance so you wont end up in this situation.

I had a UFCU account just because they were giving them out at the beginning of the school year, when I made my return to Austin. Then in May I found out they could nearly cut my interest rate in half on my auto loan. I was 21. They are amazing. The folks at this branch have been nothing but amazing. Drive through takes a little long but it is always worth it!

Customer for almost 6 years now. Great experience so far. I find the staff friendly and the financial transactions quick. Of course, it is not a bank, so if you expect the services of a giant financial institution you should look elsewhere. I will also add that as an international student, they made my life easy.

Great location in the heart of Central Austin. There is a smaller drive through but they make up for that with 7 or 8 indoor teller stations. The service is mostly fast and they offer coffee and other beverages during your wait. In addition they also have safety deposit boxes if you need.

This bank is awful, I have been a customer for over 7 years now and I have always been treated poorly by this branch. Beware of this bank they are nothing but scammers, I have closed my account with them for good. Good job guys!

Wonderful bank. Drive thru can be crazy and SLOW. Wish they open at 9am. But inside staff were great.
