SHORT SUMMARY: Gordon does good work. The service technicians show up on time or early. The company responds quickly to requests for service (less than 24 hours). Not transparent in billing. Technician sets price. Company could not give an itemized bill of cost of parts and cost of labor. Company has not reimbursed $321 they overcharged back to credit card and it has been close to 2 weeks despite 2 calls about charges and reimbursement. LONG SUMMARY: Purchased a 2x per year maintenance plan and got a free service call visit. Called on a Friday for a non-emergency service issue (fan on unit constantly running even when home reached set temperature). I was willing to wait until next week for a scheduled appointment. They sent Lynn that Friday evening. He arrived an hour earlier than scheduled. Lynn acted like he did not want to be there, did not say "hello" nor introduce himself, marched off to the unit without any explanation, and remarked he should not have been sent to my call after hours because it was not an emergency. He did not investigate my issue and told me I did not understand how to operate my thermostat. I had to explain to him how to operate the thermostat. Two days later, the issue persisted. I called company and they sent Gordon out. Gordon figured out the issue (control module not working). He was polite and explained the problem clearly. I opted to replace the thermostat because it was cheaper than fixing the control module. Once repaired, Gordon realized there was another issue; the circuit board was not working. He replaced that and AC was back to normal operation. Gordon arrived an hour before or during the service time window for each visit. This company is not transparent in costs of the repair services, and the billing department is dysfunctional . Because I joined the maintenance program, I was supposed to get 15% off all service calls, parts, and labor. I was initially billed without the 15% off and paid the bill. I had to them call and ask for the discount, which was then applied. Additionally, I had prepaid a portion of the corrected total, but they did not communicate this to Gordon when he came out so he charged me the full amount versus the remaining amount. I spoke to Gordon and the office and was told billing would reimburse $321 back to my credit card. It is nearly 2 weeks later, and the reimbursement has not occurred. The company lets their technicians set the cost of the parts and repair. Gordon charged me $301 for a thermostat that costed $40 new at Walmart or Home Depot. I understand there needs to be installation fees but he told me there were none. When I called the company to inquire about such a discrepancy, they told me the price I found at Walmart or Home Deport was likely for a used/refurbished thermostat. They said the price was higher because Epperson buys the thermostats from the manufacturer direct. They were unable to provide me with an itemized bill with costs of parts and labor. I did not research the actual cost of the circuit board but ended up paying $455 for a total of $756 for the cost of thermostat and circuit board.
My outside A/C component recently stopped working so I called Epperson Service Experts. Even though I called late in the afternoon I was told a technician would be available that evening between 5 and 7 PM. I appreciated that the technician called me at 6PM to say he would arrive in 30 minutes. Sure enough, the technician Butler Driggers arrived right on time and went to work analyzing the issue immediately. After determining the issue, he explained the problem and the solution along with the cost. After I agreed to the work, he corrected the problem, checking to ensure all was working correctly. He then checked out the inside components before completing the job. I was very impressed with Mr. Driggers who was very professional, courteous and competent.
Called for the Tune-Up special- They arrived when they said they would, which is always a plus. Service Tech James Young started in the attic, explained to us what he was looking for and what he did up there and informed us that everything with in really decent shape- for a 16 year old unit. James then examined the outside unit, and once again, gave our old unit a clean bill of health. I feel confident that after this check-up, we are going to get at least another year out of this old A/C system. Great job James and Epperson Service Experts.
Just installed a new 4 ton single stage unit and am very pleased. Lewis was very professional, knowledgeable and responsive throughout the acquisition and post installation phase of the transaction. Mac and Ralph were very knowledgeable and efficient on the installation of the unit . This Epperson team did an excellent job of answering our questions and delivering on their promises. We look forward to seasonal comfort in our home and a long positive relationship with Epperson Service Experts.
On 5/14/2015 we discovered one of our units was not functioning and we were expecting weekend guests. Epperson responded quickly to our emergency and solved our problem. The technician, Jeremy Youngblood responded quickly and analyzed our problem. He repaired our system and we resumed operation approximately one hour before our quests arrived. Jeremy was thorough, professional and pleasant. We value this standard of service and compliment Jeremy for an exceptional job well done.
Outstanding service. Our heating system was not working and Epperson came out the same day, diagnosed the problem, ordered the part for next day delivery, and came out the next day and made the repair. All on a moments notice. They gave an approximate time of their coming (2 hour window) and called before the technician actually came. The system was under warranty and there was no cost to us. I would highly recommend them. They are prompt, efficient, and effective.
I called on Friday for general maintenance of my HVAC system. The customer service rep set-up the appointment for Monday from 8-10 AM. The service rep Bobby came at exactly 8:05 AM. Bobby was was very complete and very knowledgeable. He even checked my water tanks. Bobby also replaced my filters, washed the units outside and checked the drainage line. Overall outstanding job by Bobby. I will make sure I ask for him next time I need service.
Bobby is always totally professional with his work. He is careful to do the indoor servicing before the outdoor work make the cleanup process easier. He goes about his business without disruption of the daily chores in which we are involved. When Bobby comes upon a conditioning problem he explains it coherently and he apprises us of the best alternatives moving forward. We are very pleased with the service that Bobby has provided.
Jeff, our service technician did an outstanding job. He explained everything thoroughly and professionally and, most importantly, in a way that was easy for me to understand. We have dealt with Epperson for years and have never been disappointed. Not only for regular maintenance but in an emergency, they are more than will to come out to our property. They also explain all extra charges to avoid any sticker shock.
Amazing response! One of the systems failed shortly before the family was arriving for Christmas. It was a unique system and parts were not readily available. Yesterday I had my semi-annual service on my two units. As usual, Bobby was on time and handled the maintenance with professionalism, courtesy and efficiency. It is always a pleasure to have him come because I know that he is an excellent trouble shooter and will resolve issues before they become major problems.

Jeremy Youngblood was my service person who explained to me what the condition of my Lennox Unit is as well as what services would be recommended to rectify my issues. He was polite and patient while I explained to him what I wanted and was receptive to giving me information.
