Photos tree in this photo looks not true at all. Its roots lie entirely bare, exposed to the air, only a very small portion in contact with the ground. However, it can still alive and standing so proudly for more than 1 year in Olympic National Park, Washington, USA. Moreover, its leaves are green throughout the year progressed. This is Sitka Spruce trees, people have given it a lot of different names such as: "Tree of Life - roughly translated: Tree of life", "Escape tree - roughly translated: Plants flee" or "Tree rooted in the cave - roughly translated: grows from the cave. " According to many reports said, the landscape is so special because of the springs in decades has flowed into the sea gradually crept into the soil under the tree. No one knows if it has "standing" with such a long time after. Even seemingly in an environment that has no chance of survival so, its vitality was not shaken, stalked majestically between heaven and earth. The wonders of nature makes us always amazed! This will always be one of my favorite National Parks because of the breadth of ecosystem it covers. Only rainforest in the Continental US along with some of the most scenic and majestic coastline that gives you a glimpse of what this landscape looked like when Native Americans roamed the peninsula. Seven Lakes Basin loop trail touches is moderate yet offers some of the best panoramic views in all the world overlooking the glaciers on Mount Olympus and the Hoh River Basin separating you from it. Not to mention home of the largest river restoration project our country has ever undertaken on the Elwha River for the sake of the salmon and the greater health of the Puget Sound and surrounding habitat. Definitely worth the stop!

Get there early. We arrived at about 7:00 AM, and there was only one other car in the parking lot. When we returned, a good five hours later, the parking lot was packed. The hike was really cool for many reasons but especially because of the sense of being all alone, which had vanished toward the end of the hike, with all the latecomers passing us. We saw a family of black-tail deer, a group of marmots, and a herd of mountain goats, which followed us on the trail for a while. Mountains, both forested and snow-capped, cover the entire horizon. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Temperature at arrival: 46 degrees Fahrenheit; temperature at departure: 67 degrees Fahrenheit.

Absolutely loved camping here! We camped at heart O the Hills camping area, some of the areas are kinda small and if you have 2 cars finding parking is definitely a struggle. This place also fills up very very quickly, come before 9 am on Saturday and before 8 pm on Friday if you want a good spot. We were lucky and got a really nice large area for a group of six of us and had a great time. The bathrooms were great, unfortunately no showers or soap dispensers so remember to bring your own. Also, they do sell firewood at loop C in case you forgot, but it does get locked at some point in the night. All in all great place to camp and loved all of it

Hurricane Ridge, Cape Flattery, Lake Crescent, Sol Duc Falls, Rialto Beach are out of the world places. Everyone must visit. Hurricane Ridge is the easiest to access for everyone - from a child to a 90 year old. Grand views right from your car. Unbelievable views. Cape Flattery, and Sol Duc Falls need some effort. Hike for a mile. At times on board walks. Not easy for kids and older people. Lake Crescent has beautiful drive around it. If you go to Rialto Beach, you must walk to Hole in the Wall. Again, not everyone can make it. Needs to be strong walker and hiker.

This park is massive and does not have a road through it like most of the other parks, so navigating from one side of the park to the other takes half a day. That said, you will probably want to make your way around this impressive park over many days since each section seems so different. I highly recommend the Hoh Rainforest and of course the main welcome center at the northern tip of the park. Also, we enjoyed camping at Staircase campground on the eastern side of Olympic National Forest. I recommend this park if you can spend at least two full days there.

Tickets 25 knives per car, seven days limited! The only scenic spot in the park hurricane ridge, early October, the temperature is only 3 degrees! Great scenery! Each mountain panoramic view. There are many hiking routes for outdoor enthusiasts! But the park does not accept the ticket around the attractions of the beautiful, suitable for slowly looking for! I can recommend it to everyone

Truly Awesome. We were only able to devote a day to the park. It was nowhere near enough, but was still amazing. We drove from Port Angeles to the Hoh Rain Forest (enjoying some other Olympic sites on the way). The Rain Forest was simply awe-inspiring (though it lived up to its name with rain) -- green, green, and more green. We closed it out with the beach -- not your typical tourist beach with sun and sand, but powerful waves, trees washed up on the beach, and forests around the beach.

This park simply offers what no other park can. Temperate rainforest, lush foliage, massive scale and pristine wilderness. All within a days drive or two of a major Metropolitan area. Top sites include Hurricane Ridge and the Hoh Rainforest, but you can do so much more. Most importantly with a little planning and effort you can even avoid seeing people for days in a National Park! Definitely check this out, but plan accordingly (permits can be required and weather can be dramatic suddenly).

This is one of the most incredible National Parks in the country in my opinion. There are so many things to see with such different environments. You can see an amazing rain forest. You could hike for miles, on or off trail. You can see magnificent beaches. Experience mountaintop vistas. Relax in river valleys. Enjoy incredible lakes. Fish, camp, swim, photograph... The possibilities are endless. If you ever wanted to check out an incredible National Park, this is the one to go to.

Every time I come here I get to see something new, even on repeat visits. There are so many places to visit and they are all amazing! We saw Black Bears and Mountain Goats grazing in the Seven Lakes Basin, Grouse, Chipmunks, and Red Squirrels, along the trail, fields of beautiful flowers, huge trees some covered in moss, lakes with tadpoles and frogs, Roosevelt Elk resting in the Hoh River Basin, and so many other things that took our breath away!

From snow-blanketed mountains to evergreen forests dripping with rain to ocean beaches pounded by winter storms waves, there are many ways to experience winter in Olympic National Park in Washington. Hurricane Ridge is the epicenter for snow and winter recreation, with opportunities for snowshoeing, cross-country and downhill skiing, snowboarding and tubing. Be sure to check conditions before you go, as heavy snows can lead to road closures.

Hoh River Trail to Blue Glacier over 3 days and 2 nights. The trail was extremely well maintained, did have to climb down a ladder in an avalanche chute which was wild but manageable and only slightly makes you pee yourself. Camped by a gravel bar next the river both night about 9 miles in, campfires allowed. We had a permit for Elk Lake but decided on going back to the river because of how amazing that campsite was.

Beautiful national park. While driving along 101 up to the park there are several short pull offs, the ones we stopped for where record breaking trees. The park its self is very beautiful. Only downside is the offices are not open from sunrise to sunset. The trails are though, so as long as you have all your information and do not need or want to buy anything you can still explore the park.

Such a huge incredibly beautiful National Park. So much different geography in on park. The lodge at Hurricane Ridge is beautiful with lots of picnic benches and a gift shop with a snack bar. Lots of places to take in the beauty close to where you park or bring along hiking gear to take a hike. Our family just loves this magical place. Looking forward to our next trip there.

All National Parks should get a 5! Great diversity. Definitely do the Ozette triangle loop hike for the beach (tough on the feet though). Sol Duc falls hike great (can be easy or longer) . Hurricane Ridge is great alpine, but as expected up, up, up and then down, down, down. Tough on toes and long hike. Rain Forests were a bit affected by drought so hard to rate properly.

One of the most beautiful places on earth. The weather is comfortable. Nature Bridge was perfect for an out door wedding. The location made for a fabulous destination wedding with hikes and canoe rides and guides nature walks. There is a lovely waterfall hike. The cabins at Nature Bridge were perfect for a large group. Travel to the park is a pain but worth it.

A gorgeous National Park for which you should take your time. The walks are well marked and you get everything well explained in the Visitor Center.

Loved Hurricane Ridge. It had some gorgeous views, and my favorite hike from it was the small 0.5 mile long one, forget the name. Crescent lake is more beautiful in person than it is in photos because of how blue and clear it is. The only intimidating thing about it was that warning against parasites if you swim even though I really, really wanted to.

Olympic national park is a 3 day getaway vacation trip for Seattle people. This is a place where you get the best of all the worlds- Snow capped Mountains, beaches on the pacific and rainforests. Must visit places in Olympic National Park - 1. Hurricane Ridge 2. Lake Crescent 3. Sol-duc falls 4. Cape flattery 5. Hoh rainforests 6. beaches- Second Beach.

Olympic National Park, about three to four hour drive from Seattle. From warm to cold and wet in the sea on the mountain, the experience of the climate throughout the year, and the corresponding different natural environment, is a good choice Oh.

Beautiful park with diverse landscape and many trail offerings. I spent about 10 days with a group of friends on the Olympic peninsula hiking and camping. We had a great time exploring the park and seeing the views. There are many trails to hike and places to camp, swim, fish, etc.. Highly recommend hurricane ridge and lake of the angels.

There are probably thousands of reviews praising this park. But not sure if someone said this : bikers / motorcyclists heaven! Breathtaking fast twists and bends along with great views. If you are a biker from WA or just happen to ride to Seattle area, you have to come to Olympic NP, especially Hurricane Ridge just for the twisties!

Huge, beautiful, rugged NP for everyone. Mountains, rivers, waterfalls, great hikes, wonderful wildlife. No amenities though so make sure to bring plenty of water and perhaps some food. I think signs and information system should be improved (or established). Great place though. We enjoyed every second.

Incredible. The diversity and density of rainforests is like nothing I had ever seen. Add to that the amazing views and the unique beaches and this is an unforgettable place. Note that there is still some snow on hurricane ridge, so although hikable, the hurricane hill hike has a lot of snow in spots.

Beautiful park with a lot of variety. Snowshoed up on hurricane ridge on day, did a lake hike the next. Rangers were all super friendly, informative, and helpful. Note that there is not an access road across the park. The main entrance is on the north side. Keep in mind when making your plans.

The variety of ecosystems here is amazing! On my most recent visit we spent time along the coastline hiking the beach and exploring the tide pools, in the temperate rain forest, and in the alpine environment of the Hurricane Ridge area. You could easily spend several days at each of these spots!

Till now, the most enjoyed place during my trips to the US. I will have to be back. Neah Bay, the northwesternmost point, the beaches, the Strait of San Juan de Fuca, the views, the elks, otters, bears ...The lakes... The beautiful landscape, Mt Rainier,... a never ending story in a dream land.

Olympic National Park is an incredible place. The beautiful glacier capped Mountains, the thick luscious Rainforest, and the jagged cliffs of the coast make for an awe inspiring 3 parks in 1 that you can touch all three in a day but take a lifetime to see all there is to offer.

Olympic National Park is a beautiful location along the coast of Washington state. The windy trails with amazing views like the Octopus tree that lead to the ocean are amazing! The coastline is well-kept, the shop is dandy, and the staff was great to us. Really worth a visit
