Earlier in the week our heat started to smell and so we called Donelson Air to come out and take a look. I will say that their service professionals were polite and great to work with. However, after inspecting our unit they quoted me a $4,000 repair cost to basically rebuild my current HVAC system. They called out a sales person, who again was very polite and professional, and proceeded to talk to me about buying a new system in the range of $7,000-$9,000. The repair cost was not broken down, there was no summary of parts and labor or options for what needed repaired and what could wait, it was a two line paragraph with a price tag of $4,000.00 on it. I ended up declining the repair work and looked for a second, and third opinion. Both the other companies informed me that my unit simply had a heating element that was bad and could be repaired for $300-$500 depending on the company. When the Donelson Sales rep followed up with me I mentioned that and he immediately back peddled and stated that the technician was quoting on everything he say might be a problem and thought should be fixed. If they had been upfront with me and had a more transparent pricing structure for repairs it could have avoided my dissatisfaction with the company. I attempted to call the company and inqure about their satisfaction guarantee for service calls, since I had to pay the guy $100 just to come quote me an astronomical repair quote. I was told that a manager would have to call me back. It has been several days and I have still not heard back from them. They may have gotten my $100 but that is all they will ever get from me.
Dissapointed. They sent a salesman (aka what they call a "comfort technician"--that alone should have been a red flag) out who was an hour late (I had to call and wait on hold for 15 minutes to even find this out). Then he was unable to answer my questions. He was very polite, but did not know what he was talking about. I am a relatively knowledgeable homeowner, and I asked him about doing what are industry standard calculations (Manual J and Manual D as well as a few other ones that HVAC techs should know about-- as an aside if you are considering upgrading your HVAC system please Google Manual J, D, S, T-- this is very important). The tech told me that Manual J calculations are unnecessary and that he always estimates correctly. Ok, that is just insulting. These calculations are based on current engineering / building science and are the gold standard to correctly design HVAC systems. Then to make matters worse, we spent 30-40 minutes talking about what kind of system I was interested in, he took my information, said he would talk with a manager and call me back to schedule these calculations...a week later, no call. Nothing. How can companies like this stay in business. Poor knowledge, poor customer service. No thanks.
My husband and I were very happy with our experience with Donelson Air. Dylan came out on a Sunday and took care of us in no time. He put on covers for his shoes so he did not track dirt into our home and he was very polite and knowledgeable. We have an older heat pump and we were worried we would have to replace the entire system. Dylan told us it was a simple fix and he got us back up and running in no time. We would recommend him specifically in a heartbeat. We have been taken advantage of in the past by other companies and it was nice to feel like we were being taken care of. They will be our go to company for all of our HVAC needs.
I called Donelson air a couple weeks ago after my ac went out. Surprisingly I thought they would take a day or two to get there; due to the overwhelming heat. They arrived 2 hours later and the tech was very polite. He explained to me that my unit is very old but can be up and running again for a very reasonable price. The work was very professional as far as I can tell and the service was amazing. He explained everything that was going on and even told us what to look out for. I was very pleased with Donelson and will be calling them again if need be.
They are either incompetent or crooks. Im guessing the latter. I called them to my home to diagnose and quote a repair for my AC unit that was not cooling the house. After only being out there for about 10 minutes the "repairman" came in and said it was a $3200 repair or we could buy a new unit. He called a salesman out to sell us a new unit. After discussing numbers ranging from $7200 to $10000 we decided we would get a second opinion. Glad we did. The repair was easy and ended up costing $600. I will never call Donelson Air again for AC work.
FRAUD SCAM , Scam...... Scam..... Said we need a new Unit ! called for a second opinion , Part cost $220.00 . Called BBB for fraud.... Was charged 99 dollar service charge. SCAM ..... A Person I say that nicely Ricky called the follow is off his voice mail " I believe the person that fixed your unit did not look at the cracked recharger," First the recharger was not cracked , we were told that by Donelson Air teck that recharger had 2 small holes, part $3000.00 or new unit. Scam.. Fraud ....
Donelson Air came to my house to look at my AC unit on 06/05/17 they were more interested in trying to sell me a unit then trying to fix the problem. I received a second opinion and did not need a new AC unit after all and they misdiagnosed the problem all together. Called MGMT twice to discuss and my complaint was not taken seriously. I normally try to support local but in this case .
Not knowing much about my central air conditioning it was so stressful as what to to do when my ac stopped working. It is such a relief to have someone help you and be honest with you and take care of your problem without charging you thousands of dollars. Eli came out and fixed my unit very quickly. I would certainly recommend him and and have to any of my friends and customers.
Donaldson Air Service Experts is definitely an HVAC Company you can count on. I have received EXCELLENT service from their top notch technician, Carl Anderson, he is well trained and always able to answer any questions I have about my system. He shows up on time and always conducts himself in a professional manner. 5 Stars all the way!!!
I had Mike out to my house for service on my A/C . All I can say is WOW! I have never had a tech actually get inside my unit and dig out all the leaves. Not to mention before he left he waxed the unit. Looks like NEW! He explained the issues with my unit in away I could understand. Look forward to working with Donelson Air in the future.

John Nelson at Donelson Air Service Experts was a real gift to me today after 3 years of difficulty with another provider. He found a potential future problem and rectified it, no charge. Just had a mini-split installed by Donelson Air Service Experts. Tim Parsons was great and even found a way to do the job quicker and not have to run another electrical line from my breaker box. Everything is working great and I can finally work in my upstairs office in the summer and not sweat! Thanks again!
Best company in Davidson County in my opinion! All the technicians are polite and respectful. They may not always be the cheapest in town but they take great pride in their work and making sure the customer is happy. In the service industry you get what you pay for and Donelson Air is the best in their class!
Aaron came out to my house today to service both our upstairs and downstairs units. He was incredibly professional and courteous. He provided a comprehensive review of our systems and went above and beyond while servicing the units. I highly recommend Donelson Air and will be using them from here on out.

I just had a great experience with Mike from Donelson Air! He was to my house in under an hour and truly went above and beyond to diagnose my problem, explain what he was doing and get my heat fixed! Mike was honest, straight forward, patient and just all around nice guy. I highly recommend!
Carl did an inspection on my central air. He was very pleasant and professional. He explained everything to me in detail and made sure that I understood each item. Carl was also very neat and clean - he wore shoe covers in the house which was very nice. Great job, great experience.

I called Donelson Air Service, & they were at my house within 2 1/2 hours. Christian was very polite & professional, & thoroughly explained the issue as well as the best solution to fix it. I definitely recommend them if you have issues with your air conditioning unit.
