ARS was the first company to respond to us for service. Our compressor burned up and I knew it was time to replace the entire system since it was old and pieced together. Alex met with me to review my system and was courteous, knowledgeable, and interested in designing a system to fit exactly what we wanted. He did not oversell us and tailored a system specifically for us and also gave us options. Alex patiently answered all our questions and did heat load calcs and measured our flows before and after to insure our system was perfectly sized and working at max efficiency and max comfort. His engineered approach put me at ease especially considering the sizable investment we were making. Our system was installed in one day with some follow up and rework to make sure everything was serviceable and operating great. Alex was involved through the entire process and even worked with the installers at times to make improvements. The system looks great, is quiet, and feels wonderful. I am very happy with the service and system I received. I highly recommend Alex to anyone needing some AC work. You will not be disappointed.

Where do I begin. I had to replace my entire sewer line and was quoted 12,600 with a 2 week turnaround. 2 months later with numerous workmanship errors the job was considered complete. I reached out to management with a timeline of my attempts to reach the project manager on numerous occasions regarding missed appointments, shotting workmanship and on-site disarray-parts of the old pipe were left on the lawn and ingested by my tenants dog thus causing an emergency vet visit on my dime. I asked for a reduction in my overall bill due to the laxed and negligent approach by staff. 4 months after sending my email of concerns I get a call from billing saying the job was done and to pay the bill. They did offer a $600 reduction which only served as a payment for the vet bill. Not once did I receive a call from ARS regarding my email. I strongly suggest that if you are someone that expects reliable, competent service and communication regarding your repairs, stay clear of ARS. I really wanted ARS to make this experience right so I would not feel compelled to right this review...they did not.

From the first diagnostic visit from Tech # 1133 when found out our entire Air conditioner unit outside and inside the Attic needed to be replaced. Randy Baker Comfort Specialist came over the following day and right away proceeded to assist us with finding a financing solution that worked for us and also made sure we were able to get the installation the very next day. Everyone at ARS has been absolutely awesome! The Installation Guys were Professionals from Start to finish the Tech and his Assistant Nathan #1227 were Polite and knowledgeable able to address any concerns and questions we had. Even in in 90 plus degree heat they worked tirelessly and efficiently and cleaned up the place behind them taking the old unit with them. I would want these guys to handle any emergency we had. They so nice and even updated two of our fire alarms in the hallway. They were outstanding! Way to Go Guys! I want to say thank you for the wonderful job well done. No more heat inside only comfort and cool air !!!! This is the type of Service I wish everyone provded. ARS is # 1

I called ARS Rescue Rooter in Austin though the Home Depot website on SAT 6/ 27/16 (after trying all week to get my hot water heater either repaired or replaced by "handymen"). ARS responded in getting me an appointment right away with a serviceman coming out the next morning on a SUN to give me a free estimate. Thomas H. my serviceman , was courteous and prompt. He gave me an estimate, that I thought was high; however, there are times when you really do get what you pay for. By purchasing my heater through Home Depot I was also able to get the service charges added to a payment plan, which helped me a lot to make the decision. I was glad I did. Thomas did an excellent job, He picked up the heater from the store for me, installed the new one, as well as brought my system up to meet new standards by the city, and hauled away the old heater and any installation debris within a couple of hours. I would not hesitate to recommend these services to anyone Also, a special thank you to Thomas, as he was really great to work with and knowledgeable of his trade..

Oscar G and the ARS team were GREAT! We had some major issues with our heating and air in the house we just purchased that required some deep fact finding to determine what was going wrong. The previous owners had, or their representatives, had rigged the wiring on the units to cover up the faulty units. Oscar diligently worked to determine the issues with the system, calling in additional senior support given the unique issues he found so that the right answers were determined before proceeding with the servicing. Even with the challenges, and the extra time they had to spend, they worked within the contract estimate provided for the servicing. They were able to get the systems working, as well as work with us to determine the best path (repair/replace) for each of the 3 systems given their age. We were so impressed with the professionalism and service that we are using them to put in new systems for the units too old to warrant repair, and to maintain the units that still have some life in them. I would recommend Oscar G and the ARS team to anyone.

DO NOT USE A.R.S.! (at least in the Austin Texas area) FACT: They will rip you off. Our AC went out and they sent a tech out to service our problem. Well we thought. He said that we had a leak in the system. So we asked him to show us where the so called leak was . His reply "Sorry sir, my equipment to do that was stolen last night" and then told us he will do temporary fixes IF we pay them to buy a whole new system. ($5000) So we asked to talk to who we thought was the manager (most likely not) about the issue and the answer we got "Sorry sir, that is not our problem and we owed ARS $80(+) for the service"...(WHAT SERVICE???) 1. The worker failed by not having the needed equipment or even notifying their manager of the so called stolen equipment. (most likely a bogus story) 2. ARS failed for sending a worker to the site without the proper equipment and charging $80 for no service.

The techs that came out were good...but dealing with the Administrative Team at ARS has completely overshawdowed that positive part of my experience. I have used them for AC/Water Hetar and an Electrical issue...and each time I have had an issue with the Office Team. For example - I have given them my CC # at least 3 times, and they keep calling accusing me of not paying for a service. When I state that I have given them my CC # - they simply "do not have it". I even called them back once to give it to them because I was tied up when they called...and they told me I did not have an open balance, then called back the next day looking for payment. They schedule things with me, and when I call they have no clue - like the City Inspection that no one told me about to get the rebate. IF you are looking for a Heating/AC company - they do not have their stuff together...keep looking.

Not the cheapest Home Service company in Austin, but consider the following: Clue 1: In 2001, Replaced the A/C evaporator unit using a "Well Known" Austin A/C Service Firm. Clue 2: In 2002, tried to use the previous firm to repair/replace the compressor unit: Out Of Business. Clue 3: In 2005, tried to have plumbing repairs made at 4PM on CHRISTMAS EVE. The above firm: Out Of Business. Called ARS, who sent someone out THAT NIGHT. Clue 4: Lately (Tues evening): A/C finally died. When I called ARS on Weds at 7AM, the tech arrived at 9AM (from 24 miles away). It was clear that the entire unit needed to be replaced, and the A/C team came at noon; the job was finished at 4:30PM. 5 Stars: You want a Home Service company that will actually BE AROUND in five years? ARS is your firm. P.S. On Weds night, I had a new A/C that was REALLY cool...

Beware of this company! Had an AC/Furnace system installed years ago. When the variable speed blower quit, this company quoted $1500 to replace it. I called manufacturer, and got the manufacturer to replace it with a new blower under warranty. However, this company HAD to make money on the deal. charged $300 for less than 15 minutes of easy work to replace the blower. Now, I have found out that when they installed the AC/furnace, they did not replace the drain line, nor did they clean (rooter?) it out. The drain line was completely clogged, causing to water to leak into the foundation of the home. I called this company, asking for just a simple question about the leak, but the only answer I could get was for them to send out a service guy for $80 and once there I could get my answer.

When my AC stopped working, I called ARS since their number was on the side of the HVAC unit. I was charged $119 for a repairman to come by, barely glance at the unit and tell me it needed to be replaced. I was then put on the phone with "sales" who gave me a quote of over $3,000 for a replacement unit. I asked them to send me the offer in writing, so I would know exactly what I was buying. They never sent the quote Both the repairman and the sales person spoke broken english and were very hard to understand. I then called a local company who came and actually diagnosed the problem (freon leak) for half the price. All of their other prices were almost half the price as ARS. ARS just wants to over charge you for a new system. Do yourself a favor and call a local company instead.

Our experience with the ARS in an effort to get a hot water heater installed was an example of a poorly managed business showing no concern or consideration for there customers. After signing a $1700 contract to install the heater, ARS provided a time window for their appearance to complete the work. They not only failed to appear during their established time frame, they failed to show up at all. They never called to explain their delay or make contact with an explanation. After repeated calls to their office,, we received nothing. but a run-a-round and a promise to install the heater the following day. Guess what: The same thing happened again as they failed to show or contact us again. We cancelled this contract the following morning.

Adrian is outstanding. I called ARS over Labor Day Weekend because the toilet in our garage apartment was overflowing in a very bad way. ARS sent Adrian who stayed several hours to determine the source of the problem. It turns out that the plumber who did the construction left a test ball in the line. Adrian called a second ARS person with a camera to diagnose the problem. Then, they cut out the dry wall to remove the test bulb. It took about 5 man hours to diagnose the problem which was not easy. ARS had the experience and tools to get it done. After it was done, the charge was less than $100 with the coupon. ARS is definitely at the top of my list for service companies.

Unfortunately there is no option for 0 stars or less. For non-emergency service, these guys charged $600 in labor for less than 2.5 hours work. Most likely because they were dealing with a woman at home by herself. These guys are scam artists at best. These guys are absolutely horrible. The services is exactly what you would expect from anyone marginally competent, and they charged literally 5 times what was expected for the job and blindsided my wife with it. On their web site, they have a "$50 off ANY plumbing," coupon. When she brought up the sticker shock, was that mentioned to her at all? Nope. He just said that the manager approved it. Never use these guys. Ever.

ARS sent Peter W to see if they could replace the bulb in my Air Scrubber. Previous tech on routine call had noted it was out. I had purchased the bulb online and planned to replace it myself but intervening health issues have ruled that out. Peter was patient and thorough - even cutting a hole in the duct to try reaching the mechanism - but could not succeed. He spent a lot of time explaining how a scrubber worked - and that the company (another firm who had installed) it might succeed). Left me info about alternative equipment ARS has available. Even though we did not get the bulb in, Peter was clearly competent and knowledgeable, and I appreciate his effort.
