Called and spoke with representative within Billing Dept prior to Lumbar Puncture to inquire about total cost of procedure. Quoted an amount of $670.56. Called back to confirm the total cost of procedure the next day. Director of Billing Dept confirmed (after numerous attempts to get through and multiple incorrect transfers). Paid full amount quoted (out-of-pocket) the morning of the procedure. Had every reasonable expectation to believe there would be no additional amount billed or owed. After procedure, not only did I receive from Medical Center of Plano a bill for an additional amount, but I too received (additional) bills from two other entities - pathology lab and physician. There was and is no direct relationship with either the lab or doctor as they were "hospital supplied". Finance personnel (ie, Billing Dept) prior to the procedure, was anything but transparent and forthright. If a self-pay prospective customer/patient calls in advance and requests the total cost of a particular procedure, then one must either: 1) Provide that total cost, or 2) Provide the cost of only that portion that the hospital is providing (ie, room, support staff) and make clear the fact that x, y, and z will bill independently ...... and provide those entity contact/s so that the prospective customer may also contact them for estimated or actual costs for their services.

This review is about the 24 / 7 Emergency Care in Frisco that is a part of the Medical Center of Plano. I would recommend people to stay away from the facility unless you have absolutely no other choice and have a life threatening situation. Even in that situation I would wish you luck in case you unfortunately have to go there for "treatment". The staff there is completely uncaring. You can just call there for basic information and see how they talk to you on the phone. That will tell you how they treat you when you get there. The Dr. who attended us was not much different. It seemed it was too much of a waste of his time to spend a few extra minutes with us to discuss our ailment. Here is the kicker!! We waited 3 hours, out of which 30 minutes was the max time during which we got any "service" and the bill was $4000!! We still have to go to an actual specialist not related to this facility/organization to get real worthwhile treatment and which cost us less than $300 and has brought much better results!! 24 / 7 Emergency Care by Medical Center of Plano is a money pit and an attempt at raking all the $$$$ they can for doing nothing! Good luck to whoever goes there.

We have been here for HOURS, with my daughter admitted from the ER. So far staff is either run ragged and unavailable, or sitting around on their cell phones. Perhaps an imbalance of duties?!? The one constant is that we have felt like an inconvenience to everyone since we got here. Except for two. Luz, a tech, has been extremely gracious and kind. And the nurse practitioner was helpful and seemed to listen. My daughter has significant chronic medical issues, and we have spent LOTS of time in hospitals. This is by far the worst treatment we have ever experienced...as we continue to wait for her meds now 5 hours past due. UPDATE: After 24 hours we were moved to the Neurology Unit. Night and Day!! If I were rating my experience from arrival on this floor, it would be 5 stars. Would definitely come here again if necessary, but NOT through the ER.

My mother had three back surgeries and my father had a triple bypass all at this same facility. The nurses are understaffed and over worked leading to real lapses in care. At one point my father was in the CCU and was left sitting in his own feces for thirty minutes. He finally called my mother at home who had to call the hospital. My dad developed bed sores from the nurses not rotating him on a regular basis. My mother was discharged while still hallucinating and unable to walk. The CCU waiting room was dirty, and poorly maintained with backed up toilets. The elevators were broken for the first two weeks. The doctors and nurses have an unclear line of communication so it is very difficult to get information. Overall a horrible experience and I would NEVER go back

I recently spent a week at this hospital in the neurological ICU observing and communicating with multiple nurses, doctors, therapists, and other support staff as they attended to and cared for my father who had suffered a massive stroke. Even though my dad passed away, my family and I feel very strongly that he was in the best place possible for treatment. Along with the care and concern that the entire staff exhibited towards my dad, they also expressed that same care and concern for my mother, brother and I. We were impressed with their skill and knowledge as they worked to help my dad recover. We would strongly recommend this facility.

This is my first baby and i was very excited about my ultrasound... They did not tell me anything after the ultrasound, and the technician was an intern and i was not really happy about that. They told me that they would mail my OB the result - which even after 2 weeks did not reach my OB. Finally, my billS arrived. Two bills - one for the ultrasound and one for radiology services. It seems that they have different tax ids or something and they charge differently, one for the facility, equipment and another to read the report.. WTH... when you pay a fortune to get an ultrasound done... dont you expect them to read the report as well....!!!

Their Medical Center is ok, but expect to have issues with your bill. My wife went in for a routine colonoscopy, covered 100% by my insurance. The doctor coded it as routine, but the billing department of the hospital billed as a medical procedure, and thus the facility charges were not covered 100% by insurance. I contacted their billing department and they re-submitted to their "coding" department, but once again re-submitted as a medical procedure. Fortunately, BCBS of TX re-coded it on their end to cover it 100%. Bottom line, unless you want to be stuck with thousand of dollars of medical bills, I would use another Medical facility.

My experience is too bad as i already visited to some other facility on the same day and they did same test which are needed. when i came to Medical City of Plano, doctors have seen my same day reports, even after that they did all test and now they are asking us to pay entire money. The ER facility is too costly and even for a single shot, they asked us to stay for 2 hours and then they charge us $1700 for 2 hours for the room which is ridiculous. I would recommend please dont visit this facility as they will suck your blood nothing else.

They are very very rude. They asked my wife to wait until they find an empty room for her. She had a chest pain and breathing problems. I asked them to take an action, and they said she still alive and can breathe. I think they wanted her to die to believe us. This EMR is a graveyard. I went to another hospital. I hope the management at this poor hospital looks at these problems seriously. The security guard helped me and parked my car when I was busy with nurses. Thanks god that I didn’t get a ticket for parking in front of Emr door.

On December 1st I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl here. Not only was everyone super helpful and knowledgeable they went out if their way to make my husband and I feel super comfortable. This is my 4th child and by far the best hospital experience I have ever had! The postpartum suite was amazing the menu not only included things like lamb chops and risotto we also were able to stock our fridge with goodies for guests! Truly a wonderful place to give birth! I really thank you guys for all the assistance you provided.

Do not go to the Emergency room of his hospital! Its run by bandits who inflate the price of services to the point of obscenity. We took our toddler to this place when she tripped and fell on concrete. We spent more time getting checked in that we spent with a doctor. After a five minute exam from a nurse and a few minutes with the doctor, during which no scans or diagnostics were done we waited even longer to be checked out.. The bill, including $150 copay came to over $1000! Do not go here unless near death!

I had 6 heart bypasses at Medical City Plano. I had excellent care at the hospital and my survival is a testiment to quality and professionalism of both the Doctors and other professionals. About a month after my surgery in entered the Cardio Rehab program at Medical City Plano. The program is staffed by caring and knowledgeable staff who make it easy to want to participate in the various monitoried activities. I can only give 5 stars but if I could it would be 10.. I thank them for all their help!!!!

We have an ongoing saga with their billing department. Our medical insurance carrier has contacted them numerous times as well as we have, for their errors in billing me. Each time, we are told that everything has been fixed. Now, the bill is in collections. How many times do we and our medical insurance carrier have to tell them that they made an error, which is never corrected? Only go there if you want a perpetual headache, and you have no other choices. Luckily, we have other choices.

Every staff member we had contact with were professional and kind. They did all they could to ensure a comfortable stay there. Pediatrics were efficient and knowledgeable. Cleaning crew also top notch and friendly. It felt like we were in a 4 star hotel. There were also elderly volunteers who were friendly and helpful. Billing and administration also professional and efficient. Thank you very much Medical Center of Plano! Highly recommended for you or your loved ones.

With all the hospitals popping up in the area like car dealers, do yourself a favor and choose somewhere else for your medical needs. The accommodations are nice, but get used to them, because the doctors are in no hurry to see you. Prepare to wait. And tell your family to bring their walking shoes, as employees park in lots designated for patients and visitors. There are far better places just a short drive away to get treated better.

I was turned away by ER doctor for extreme pain. Am a recent amputee and had fallen down at work and hurt my injury. I think he thought i wanted narcotics yet i had so many at home. He refused to wait for my family to arrive. The same hospital has harsh nurses, lindsay, anne, beatrice. Dr. Brent. The same hospital that disclosed PHI infront of my friends against my wish. I wonder who is supposed to speak on behalf of patients like me.

I was involved in an accident in August of last year. My injuries were such that the paramedics recommended me to go straight to Plano Medical Center and bypass the closer hospitals. I had a broken arm, broken nose and multiple facial fractures. It was the right decision. Your trauma staff took great care of me . Especially my nurse Doni? I had uncontrolled pain after surgery and she worked with me and the doctor to find a solution.

UPDATED FROM 4 STARS TO 1 STAR. The hospital received their trauma level 1 designation but lost their soul. Have been coming here for more than 30 years and only recently have I felt like it was more about the money than the care. Now, at 100% capacity you better get well on schedule - they need your bed. Makes me sad and angry! REVIEW FROM 11 MONTHS AGO! Love love love the staff and the care provided.

This is a great hospital for families who are expecting (a baby of-course!) and are looking to be taken care of with lots of care and attention. The nurses are what really make this hospital so great, since all of them are very knowledgeable, informative, caring, and positive! They will check on you so much and teach you even more that you will feel very special. Thank you Medical Center of Plano!

Monday, Oct 16, 2017, was the first day of my Cardiac Rehab program, and what a pleasant beginning it is !! In fact, as soon as I entered the hospital I felt so comfortable, and became more proud of Plano. Everyone was so nice, and especially the nurse who gave me the orientation....her name is, Tea. Tea is very thorough and knowledgeable, and she is very caring. I feel very fortunate !!
