I started this adventure back in Oct 2016. I wanted to buy a house and had no idea what to do. So I did what I thought was right, googled buying a house and ended up on a sight that connected me to companies that could help. Little did I know by clicking, "more information on home buying" would make my phone ring off the hook. One thing I learned quickly was I did not like the calls i received because almost everyone who called said, " oh, your not ready to buy today, call me when your ready." But I had a lot of questions, I thought to myself this is not the experience I expected as a first time home buyer. That was until I found Doug at Doorway Mortgage. He took the time to talk to me and wanted to know what I was looking to do, He was patient and offered his time around when I was available, I felt much better knowing someone was willing to work with me not against me. I was impressed with Doug because he scheduled my first sit down with him online which was best for me and at a time that worked best for my busy household. After 3 hours of me asking every question I could think of, Doug came up with a plan for me. He made sure I understood my options, gave me choices and empowered me to make the best decision for myself. He explained to me there was work I needed to do to get approved, but walked me through it all. When I finished our 3 hour session I felt very confident about the work I needed to do. Fast forward a few months, I did the work Doug suggested. It was time to have another meeting with Doug to see If I was pre approved. Doug, again, was patient and thorough. He was also friendly and seemed like he was more excited than I was to get me approved. After about an hour online, He told me I was pre approved! Doug walked me through the process and assisted me with a realtor. I did not think this was possible but with Doug guiding and empowering me , I can now start looking for my first home! Very glad to have connected with Doug and Doorway Home Loans! Highly recommend Doug Rokosz.

Jay Jaffee is the ABSOLUTE BEST! We had already been told that we did not, and would not, qualify for a home for at least another year because we were relatively new to the area, so new-ish job history for my husband. I got in touch with our (also AMAZING) realtor, Angela Toyer with Premiere Property Group, who said just to give Jay a call and see what he said and get a 2nd opinion on pre-qualification. I am so thankful and glad I did, because we are closing on our beautiful new house today! Jay walked us through every single step of the process, literally educated us on his job and what he does and why he does it as a lender. He was able to work with our schedules to accommodate funky meeting times and even has toys for the kiddos to play with! My 5 year old knows him by name because he left Jays office with 2 brand new hot wheels :) All in all, Jay is great, he did our refinance for us on a home we own in Bend, allowed us to purchase a great home here and has been so easy to work with the entire time we have been doing business with him. Not to mention, he is just a fun guy! I am almost sad to close on this home because it means no more working with Jay -- that says a lot! We highly recommend him to anyone searching for a true, honest lender to help them with becoming educated on the home buying process along the way!

I was dreading our initial phone call with Jay. After having several bad experiences with various lenders, I had resigned myself to never believing we could get past our bad credit to qualify for a home loan. But Jay was very kind, personable, and most importantly: helpful. He talked through every step of the mortgage process with us, looked at our current situation, and pointed out several variables that would help our ability to qualify both now and in the future. And Jay was just very upfront and frank about everything, no need for us to feel embarrassed or make excuses for our credit or available assets. I have never had such HOPE when talking to anyone about buying a home. Thanks to Jay, we now have an actionable game plan, and after 22 years (!!) of marriage and never being able to buy a home, we are excited to start a new chapter of our life!

My husband and I were referred to Jay at Doorway mortgage. I have to admit, on the way to our appointment I was skeptical and believed we were wasting our time. When we arrived, a woman rolled up on a scooter (how cool!) and welcomed us! We were treated with kindness and respect right from the beginning. I was hesitant with our credit and debt and lack of knowledge about everything. Jay made us feel comfortable and secure throughout the appointment. He broke the scary unknown parts of loans, credit, and everything that goes with buying a house down for us in a way that we could understand. We had our busy two year old daughter with us and he helped occupy her with toys, Peppa Pig, and food! I have purchase several homes over the years. And in my experience, I was routinely disappointed with my experience in getting home loans and dealing with mortgage brokers. I City Mortgage was an exception to this experience! I City Mortgage was incredible, the loan process was personal and Jay, (my lender, ask for him, he was the best!), not only walked me thru the process from start to finish but made sure I was choosing the right approach for my family and long term financial goals. I along with my girlfriend just wrapped up purchasing our first home! Tammy Harrison was without-a-doubt THE MOST crucial piece to getting this done. She helped us get qualified for the First Time Home-Buyers program while explaining the whole process as we went along (as opposed to just shoving papers in front us of and telling us to sign). There is "supposed" to be a lot of stress involved with buying a home, but Tammy went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable but also educated on every step along the way. I would HIGHLY recommended anyone, especially the younger generation of home buyers to at least sit down with her and get some knowledge on the process. We cannot thank her enough for all the help!

We just closed on our first home a few weeks ago and had a wonderful experience working with Tai Starr and company. Working with them made the whole process less stressful and pleasant. When it came to credit scoring, Tai went above the call of duty to research the status of a missing credit score and advised the ways to get that corrected and improve the score tremendously. They also helped us get a home buyer grant that we had not learned from any other source. The grant helped us keep much of our savings in our pocket while still being able to purchase our home!! Loved working with these guys!!
