I reviewed Wortman several months ago and my poor rating was based on process and service not the actual functionality of what was installed. I now have to change that review. In my previous review I mentioned that my garage was flooded during the install which I attributed to rushing the job and not taking the appropriate steps. I am not an HVAC guy so at the time did not know how everything in a system worked, which is fine and why I pay "experts". Unfortunately, I now know more about how HVAC systems work because of all of the failures and subsequent fixes by other companies coming out and fixing poor quality work. A real quick synopsis. Drain pipes I have learned are a necessity. When they fail you get flooding. As mentioned in my earlier review workers were sent out on Friday and "were rushed leading to incomplete work, patch jobs, and in one case a water leak in the garage." My previous system had a drain that was driven by gravity. Somehow that no longer worked, causing the previous flooding in the garage. The fix was to throw a water pump into my system (probably added expense) to achieve what was previously achieved by gravity. That pump uses a hose that leads up into the attic and over to a sewage pipe where it drains. That worked fine until last night when it finally got cold outside, freezing the hose, restricting water flow from the pump, triggering a kill switch and shutting down the furnace. I have a 2 year old daughter who came into my room complaining of being cold, the thermostat showed 52 degrees. It is Sunday so I had to call in an Emergency service, from another company obviously, who explained everything to me that is written above. He also stated that NO ONE SHOULD EVER RUN A WATER HOSE THROUGH AN ATTIC. It is common sense and will always freeze. In his mind this is Heating and Air 101. And the only reason a technician would do such a thing is if they were rushed, did not care, or setting up guaranteed failures to get maintenance calls to make money. His words not mine. My assumption remains the same as it was during the install, these workers, who are competent were sent to my house to rush a job before a weekend and made a mistake. A mistake, that like Wortman, continues to haunt me.

They quoted me almost 5,000.00 dollars. When all I need was a unit installed out side my house. The one installed in my attic is brand new and they wanted to replace it. That was crap.
