I got rear ended by a taxi. After a few calls someone actually answered. I sent back the paper work and...... nothing. After another few tries i was able to schedule and appointment with appraiser. He came, took the pictures and silence for a month now. I was really busy and i hoped that someone will contact me, but no. I started to call, i called over ten times at different times and days/ left them messages.... which is pointless because they will NOT call you back. I will have to go there personally later this week as i see no other option. Accident happened on June 30, today is Aug 30!!!! it took me one month to schedule with appraiser.... Update. I was busy in September and i still hoped that i will contact them over the phone, but i failed. I took a day off and I went there in the beginning of October. When i got there I was told that person who is in charge of my case is on a lunch brake.... and that i can come back tomorrow- i refused. I waited in hall way for over an hour when finally someone came to me with a check. I was told that- BECAUSE i did not tried to contact them they decided to do nothing. Few days later i got my check in mail. Surprisingly!!! i got enough to fix the damage. It took 4 months to resolve my case.

hello ..base in my experience it one of the worse company .you could deal with (deny) is there respond ..they don"t want to pay for my medical bills ..even it no faut car accident ..in new york city no faut accident yourrs personal inssurance should pay for you ...back and fort .they deny my clain saying it work comp case.even they will try to found anything to say deny ..just don"t want to pay now we going to court to get solide proof from work comp to obligate americain transit to pay ..i have $300.000 policie and $150.000 for body injury still play around ...i been with fiducuary then global then americain transit is the worse of them it should not be in market ...there are 0 of 5 not even 1 star .....stay away from this guys ..you giving money away tlc plate be aware and taxi industry it dominated by them ..total fraud ....even there issurance doctor is fraud say aaaaahh go home you have nothing ...there are far the worse company ...what is the purpose of innsurance if you need them they don"t pay for you ..i m 1 of thousants customers ...so pls say your expience with this company...thank you for reading..best of luck

These are horrible and incompetent people. They give false information and delayed my claim for 8 months before paying out only $700 of a $2700 claim. In order to even get this far, I had to call frequently and demand to speak to supervisors. Jose Hidalgo, katherine ortiz, phyllis lacroix, mavis thomas and emerson ballian consistently blew me off by telling me that they will call back with more information and did not call back. They function by ignoring claims until they cannot any longer. Then After waiting months for a result (being the first to claim of a 5 vehicle not at vault accident), they informed me that I have to be paid less because another vehicle took them to lawsuit for more money than the claim and they cant afford to pay me more. The claim of their insured is only $10,000, this should not even be legal in NY to insure for so little. THen in order to get the small amount of money offered, they required that I absolve the driver preventing me from taking him to small claims court for the difference. It is sad that this company exists by stepping on innocent people to prosper. Its pathetic and cruel

As i read the reviews i realise that alot of persons have so much anger n hate towards this company... but funny thing is one or two comment caught my attention....i have had the greatest opportunity to deal with this company...my experience was with two customer service representative " Asha and Vinessa".. these are the individuals a large company like this needs to build n develop its infrastructure...Vinessa no matter how frustrated i get over the phone always remains calm..she clears my frustration, she knows and is aware of proper company policies she is the type of representive who represents her company in such a professional and satisfactory way...i wish i could speak to the owner to tell him about these formal n professional individuals...Asha keep doing the amazing job you do your awesome professional and your company is blessed to have you...you are a representation of a working class individual who performs her company duties well...clear explanation and on time assistance...GREAT JOB TO THESE LOVELY LADIES...

Worst Insurance company ever. One of their insureds hit my parked car almost a year ago. Im driving arouund with a dent in my car since November 2016. Did everything that was required of me and my claim is delayed because their insured isnt cooperating. He hit me with an ambulette and a patient who was in the ambulette witnessed the hit. I get a letter saying they will keep me updated on my claim?? Like what??? How about fixing my car ! Worst Customer service ever. The people who work there are unprofessional and rude. Its like they dragged them in off the street to answer phones. The hold time is insane as well. Whole company needs an overhaul from the ground up. I will be making further and numerous complaints to every agancy I can that regulates the Insurance industry.

Let me tell you about me now... Accident happened late march from a careless UBER driver. He was cutting thru parking lot lanes and run into me. It has been about 6 months now and they got all the paperwork they need and they wont send the check. I have been dealing with Kathrine Ortiz EXT: 457 and she has not been picking up for at least 2 weeks now. I am calling get literally every 2 hours and send 2 emails each day. We have settled on 2,800 dollars. I am not sure what to do.... UPDATE (6-months post accident): Ok so I went to their office in Brooklyn and they paid after 2 visits. The first visit they told me to come back again the next day which I did and got the check. Such bad people and company thought...

American Transit is the worst insurance company to deal with. They do not call you back. They ask for ridiculous information to back up the paperwork you already gave them months ago. They say they do not have the paperwork meanwhile another person employeed there says they have all the paperwork needed. Tevin Maitland, Natasha Seepersadsin are the so called claims examiners located on a Galaxy offshore phone system who never call you back. Tell you to call an inspector at a extension that is non existant. Try calling the extension listed on their website and you get a message to call another extension and that if you leave a message on this extension it will not be listened to...

The absolutely worse experience of my life. Someone insured by them hit my car while it was parked and they refuse to reimburse me ! I sent them all the necessary documents then 3 months later they claimed they had no response from their insured so they needed proof he was present at the scene. I thought that was ridiculous but I had proof so I sent it over. I sent over pictures of the persons vehicle, a photo of their license and a photo of their registration. I guess it must not be enough because its 7 months later and I have still heard nothing. Whenever you call you are on hold forever and then they keep telling you that someone will contact you in 48 hours. It never happens.

This place is the most unprofessional place i have ever dealt with. Their customer service is the worst, very rude and always have an attitude when talking to you. They never pick up the phone, and after waiting for an hour to talk to someone, they wont give the correct information or they will put you on hold again. Very frustrating when you trying to get your fixed and nothing is progressing. This place needs to get shutdown ASAP, or train their employees to be very helpful and stop been defensive when we only need to get our questions answered. The only reason why i give this place one star is because am unable to post without clicking on the stars.

The worse insurance company EVER. Not a single respectful representative, everyone has a huge attitude problem, to get a call back takes weeks, get any normal information is absolutely impossible. If you were to understand the EXTRA heavy Spanish accent, conceder yourself lucky. if you were to get anyone on the phone, within 30seconds they hang up on you. How are even allowed to operate, maybe some official should look into their operation. If possible, I would give negative star, its just I cant finish the review unless a star is checked off.

I had the misfortune of being in an uber that was insured by this company. We were in a MVA over 6 months ago, my glasses were broken in the accident and ATIC still has not reimbursed me! Every time I call, they tell me new things I have to fill out and email. They have been giving me the run around. This insurance company seems to be a sham. I have patiently tried and tried to get money for my glasses with no luck. As some of the other reviewers have said, I will file a complaint with the NYS Department of Insurance.

American tranisit has no customer service, their agents are incompetent, rude and not that bright. Contacting this company and getting something actually resolved is very tedious and aggrevating. Prepare yourself to leave multiple messages and never receive a reply. It took about 4 months for them to get my address corrected. The appraiser of this company quoted my repair at 1/4 of what the actual price is. I will continue dealing with this company but I have spoken to a lawyer this how bad the situation has become.

Dealing with this company has been a nightmare. I was rear ended by a careless UBER driver an entire month ago and i just got my claim number this week. I sent the police report in a few days after the accident and they lost it and i had to send again. They outsource their adjusters with a different company and that is a whole other issue. I think they should be reported to the better business bureau. The employees are rude and unprofessional. I wish i could give ZERO STARS.

After leaving three voicemails, it took 5 days to get a call back. I sent them the police report, and was told I would have a claim ready within 7 days. I called back multiple times to get a claim number, and every time the reps claimed they never received the police report. All said and done after calling every single day, after a month I finally received a claim number. This company needs an enema from the BBB and consumer affairs.

I have experienced a less than professional customer service from the "Customer Service Rep" Vinessa Richards. She answered the phone like she was doing a favor and was also angry at me for no reason. I thought she was having a bad day. The same Rep gave a five star rating for American Transit - per the Google rating. Unbelievable. Everyone gave their worst rating ever to this company. Shame on you the president and owners.

The epitome of an inept company. They are rude and inefficient in dealings with customers. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this company under any circumstances. If you have the unfortunate misfortune of being in an accident with one of their insureds run the other way and submit the claim to your insurance and let them go after this awful company. They tied up a vehicle for 7 weeks waiting to issue a payment.

my attorney been waiting for their response so I can get my money. I thought I was being lied to when they told me they call the insurance company numerous of times and they never respond. therefore I called American transit myself and it was all true. They seem so careless and idk if this would help but I called 311 on them.
