The most horrendous AC company to do business with! They came out and serviced the AC unit in a house we just bought, and the AC would not work a day later (they forgot to clean the humidity water discharge line). When they did not respond to my call, I contacted a neighborhood company (Symbiont Service Corporation, Inc.), who came right out. An inspection of our complete system showed leaking coolant in addition to the blocked discharge line. The owner said the unit in the house needed to be replaced, and that the previous tech should have noticed the problems. Symbiont said that they could make weekly service calls to replace the coolant, but that I was running the risk of the unit completely failing in the interim. I called Matthew Poteet, the General Manager of Direct Heating and Cooling, who said that they did nothing wrong. He also said that they charged $1,295 for a UV light that they did install, and which anyone can buy on-line for $495.00. He said that is their policy. He offered me $400.00 of my $2,095 back for my trouble, I declined and will pursue legal recourse. If I could give them no stars, I would.

Last September we called Direct Heating and Cooling to do routine maintence on our air conditioner. They charged us close to $1400 to supposedly clean the air conditioner which included a 2 year maintence agreement. That same day we had to call them back since the air was not working at all. 3 repairman later, they finally got it fixed. Then in July, our air conditioner stopped working so we called them to take a look. Even though we had a 10 yr warrenty on the air conditioner, the repairman condemned it without trying to repair or replace it. He said we had to get a whole new system at a cost of $5000. He used scare tactics by saying it had to be done immediately or our wood floors would warp and doors would no longer open. We decided to get another opinion. A different company repaired it for $175 and told us that the system had been sabotozed- the freon was overfilled and the safety devices were disabled. The BBB has given them an "F" rating. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AS THEY ARE DISHONEST. BEWARE I heard they are using a new name VANS. A Snowbird

I have been a resident of North Fort Myers for 27 years. I have had my A/C replaced twice within that time by Direct Heating and Cooling. On both occasions they have been a pleasure to deal with because of their honesty, promptness and excellent work. Every technician that has been sent to our home was truthful, honest , knowledgeable and trustworthy. However, I would like to single out and highly commend one of the technician in particular, namely ALEX. Whatever the situation or time, day or night, he was here promptly. He has always done a careful and complete job, and when he left the A/C was always in perfect running condition. In summary, let me reiterate and say it is a pleasure and a rewarding experience doing business with Direct Heating and Cooling.

Last week I called to take advantage of the clean check up for 79.95 Its incredible that actually Direct Heating and Cooling were the want that took advantage. I was charge $ 230.00 for a Capacitor. After some research and few calls I found out the the most expensive Capacitor cost less than $30.00 including a call to Goodman AC customer service. I will call them Monday before I file a formal complaint with a BBB and Florida Consumer Affair. Set appointment to get compressor fixed that they diagnosed on 2/21 service call. Same guy shows up and diagnoses problems again, and then orders part. What did I set an appointment for the second time? When I called to express my frustration, Charlie the pitiful excuse for a General Manager explained they did nothing wrong and "No time was wasted on this job." When I explained that I was the customer and I think I would decide on that, he told me to find someone else to fix it and hung up on me. Despite a service agreement I have with the company. DBPR Florida and BBB here I come!

Excellent service from Emilio of direct Heating and Cooling. Timely service call and very competent work performed on our air conditioning system. They took their time and we greatly appreciated the professional information Emilio was able to provide concerning our specific units and possible needs we may encounter in the future. No high pressure here to buy services but a pleasant imparting of info that was very useful. Bottom line...reasonable prices for excellent service. Emilio is a credit to the company and makes the home owner feel they are getting an AAA+ job and service.

Warning! Their services are a problem you may encounter. They overcharged for a new A/C system that they had trouble installing. Service for routine maintenance was fine, but when the heating component of the NEW unit would not work, getting, it corrected was difficult. Constant phone calls by me with NO callbacks was frustrating. Technicians arrived 40 minutes late (with no phone call alert). The latest technician at my house then claimed that the thermostat is broken (when the installer and the technician here YESTERDAY had said the thermostat was fine).

I am a licensed state of Florida contractor and they call up too 5 times a day too sell me unsolicited service as late as 730 at night just for this reason I would never in a thousand years recommend them or use them on any of my jobs. I do not know or will speak too there quality of work as I have never used them. As we are in Florida there is more work than any contractor can handle if you are a reputable business without advertising, so I am uncertain of the reason for the cold calls that I would expect out of a used car salesman.

However, sometimes I call them to cheek it so that I have not to face any unwanted problem. Though it is ok, but they always sent a mechanic to cheek my AC. It seems to me that, customer satisfaction is their main business and I am really so satisfied with their service. The service of the AC is also satisfactory. For this reason, I always prefer to buy product from them.

Im new to Florida and realized a needed a clean and check done on my air conditioner. My unit wasnt cooling well and im not used to the Florida heat. Direct Heating and Cooling sent Emilio to the house to do the preventative maintenance on the a/c. Not only does my unit work great,, Emilio left me with great tips on proper a/c usage and ive been saving money on my electric bill ever since. Thank you Direct!!!

If I could rate this company ZERO stars, I would. Not only have they REFUSED my requests to be taken off of their call list, the guy who calls me has the audacity to cop an attitude with me. I have REPEATEDLY asked to be removed from their list. Today I spoke with the head of the company and we will see what happens. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! They are RUDE JERKS!!!

Thanks to direct heating & cooling my 4th of July was saved, my A/C went out and Evan though it was a holiday weekend Jeremy the on call service tech came out in 30 min to have my A/C back to cooling. Direct Heating and Cooling have been servicing my family vacation home for YEARS!!! They are extremely pleasant to deal with and the products and services they offer top every other company out there. Before finding Direct, I had really bad experiences with multiple hvac company but these guys clearly eat breathe and sleep hvac. I would recommend them to everyone.

Stay away from this company, they have over 50 BBB complaints. They tried to tell me I need a new a/c system for $5700. Called a reputable company they offered system for $2500 and found I only needed a $300 repair. They do not have servicemen they have con artists. They showed me guages indicating I had no freon when other company came out the system was full.

I came home and found a large City permit taped to the front of my house - for AC Exchange. My AC is only 4 yrs old and does not need replacing, nor had I ever called this contractor. The permit had my name, my address. When I called they told me they made an error in the address. Oh yea?? A mistake like this does not speak well for the contractor.

After 10 plus years with other a/c companies our unit finally died. We talked to Emilio at Direct Heating and Cooling and he got us a brand new unit for a fair price. He even kept our old unit running unit until the new one was installed 2 days later! I would definitely recommend speaking with Emilio when shopping for an a/c person.
