But we want coastal brown bears watching where, on Kodiak or in Katmai National Park? We opt for Katmai, there a film about this brown bear was 2013. Disney rotated. The area will probably why they have chosen this stunning National Park we think. The adventure, hopefully it goes well, will start the following morning at 7:00 am, with his 40-year-old Cessna over fly us John from Homer to Katmai. for 25 years John flying through Alaska and is a master of his subject and so we end up, how could it be otherwise, on the beach in front of the Hallo Bay Camp. Indescribable adventure, more on our Travel Blog Independent Traveler

We were two days in June on site. The weather has been pleasant. The park, we were in the Brooks Lodge, was not crowded by crowds. You could relax and enjoy the nature and silence, of course, also observe the bears in sufficient numbers in your familiar surroundings. Pure nature. Unfortunately, the arrival and overnight at the lodge (simple equipment) is not for a small budget.

Try K-Bay bear tours for an unforgettable experience for the whole family. Photographers prepare to take the best and most unusal pictures of your life! A family that does a K-Bay Bear Tour together, stays together! Its a experience that is impossible to ever forget. K-Bay has some of the most skilled bush airline pilots in Alaska. They have an excellent safety record and will get you and your family back safe and sound. You will also see and photograph many species of birds, eagles and wolves! The salmon can be thick in the streams. Do it, you will be glad you did!

Amazing, but one of the hardest national Parks to access. We took a boat across Naknek Lake which was a rough slow scary ride. First week of August saw lots of sockeye and therefore lots of brown bears. Fished from the Brooks Falls down to Brooks Lake and had bears around us the entire time. Two fly-ins later in the week to the far reaches of the park were even more remote and better fishing. But also many more bears. On the Moraine River we had 15 bears around us all day.

Due to an ever increasing amount of day trippers present at the park in the area surrounding Brooks Lodge, the viewing platforms can become quite crowded and uncomfortable to use. However, the wildlife and scenery more than make up for it, and make it a worthwhile place to visit.

This is one of my favorite national parks by far. The whole experience watching the bears fishing for salmon is breath taking. Go in July.
