This is one of the companies that a relator friend recommended. I had such a un-pleasant, time consuming, stressful experience. I would never recommend STRAND to anyone. Office was not organized and had to deal with mis-communications on there end. Basically, My family was without AC in the summer for couple of weeks trying to pack for our new home. I had to send my kids for sleepovers and my wife stayed at her moms house to sleep a couple of times since it was hot at night. I had to constantly explain to my family why we didn’t have AC and what the delays were. The only reason I kept moving forward with Strand is because of Phil the sales person did not hand me off and tried to keep us moving forward. When they did repair the coil on one unit and a full system on the other side of the house. The service men were good and work was good. STRAND mentions 100% guarantee.. after this ordeal its just a fancy peace of paper. Really means nothing. When I did talk to Thos Graham he tried to resolve all the issues and did his best. I requested to talk to his supervisor or manager and have not heard anything yet. At this point I don’t think I would want to continue anything further with this company. Letting you all know what my experience was like. Now I get this email from my realtor: Did Strand Brothers explain to you at the time of installation of the new HVAC system that they would need to have a City of Austin inspector come out to inspect the new installation in order to issue the permit and close the file out ? I am really upset with Strand Brothers that they are just now contacting you and me about this almost 3 months AFTER installation was completed. I will now have to coordinate with the new owners for the City inspector to access the home....

I wanted to let you know about a great customer service call I had with your technician, Jose on Saturday evening on July 12th. After calling the Strand Bros office with a distress call about my A/C not working, Jose appeared at my door and immediately went to work after I explained the problem. I showed him the narrow attic space where the fan motor, electrical components and ductwork were and he quickly determined the problem and explained my options. He made a call to Larry and asked that he come out on Sunday to discuss the options. I just want you know what a dedicated person you have with Jose as a technician. I know I’m not the only panic call Strand Brothers received over the weekend, but Jose treated me with the utmost courtesy, listening to my ranting and raving, and handled it all in a timely manner and very professional. Both Jose and Larry should be recognized as outstanding employees of Strand Brothers. Larry took the time to explain the options and advised me which one would be best for my budget. Also was able to get service scheduled quickly. Even though it may be their jobs to work late in the evening or on weekends, doing with a good attitude and great customer service, makes me a very grateful. The installers were fast clean and did what look to me to be a professional job. The reason they did not get five stars is that the outside lines for the air conditioning needed to be painted with some UV protector. The material they had with them was no good because it had frozen. They said someone would be back out to do this short task. If someone had been out in a timely fashion they would have received 5 stars. It has been 18 days. Too long to complete this small task. In addition they managed to bill my credit card twice on separate days. The final irritation was that like so many businesses they bill under the name Service Experts LLC rather that the company I hired Strand Brothers. Update: As part of my purchase of a new system Strand Brothers has two followup visits to check the system out. They get extra points because the called me to schedule the system check 8/2/2017. I did not remember to do it. The technician that came out was Julio Salinas. He did a very good job, telling me what he was going to do and getting it done. He seemed to check quite a bit both the furnace unit and the outside compressor and cleaning the coils. I was very happy with this included service.

I wish to extend a special thank you to Juan, Jorge, Osiel and Esrain. These are real professionals – quality workmanship, competent and courteous, with an excellent work ethic. They removed and replaced both of my old AC & heater units with new units in a very impressive time frame (a morning). Not because they were just in a hurry to get the job done, but because they knew what they were doing and worked as a team to complete the tasks at hand. This included protecting the floors and cleaning up the job site when they were finished. The result was a professionally completed installation of the new equipment. Strand Brothers is fortunate to have such dedicated highly skilled personnel like this working for them. I am also sure that this is no accident. All aspects of this process was performed flawlessly – from the initial service call with Jose identifying actions required to repair my old units – to speaking with Tony about other options and his help with the selection of new units that would suit my AC requirements and of his scheduling of the work to be performed. We called Strand Brothers to replace our water heater. Eric Lynch and Mariano showed up at the appointed time. Eric explained how the water heater replacement process worked and how long it would take. Eric answered my questions and was was very personable. During the installation Eric explained the importance of having a drip pan and having it plumbed to the outside of the house. I was hesitant to have a hole drilled through my wall to the outside but when he was done it looked very professional. Now if there are any leaks the water will not damage my house. Eric did a very thorough job. He replaced the water valve into the water heater, which would not shut off compleatly. Then he replaced a 30 year old gas valve, which was also difficult to turn off. When the job was done we had a new 50gal water heater, new valves for water and gas, and a drip pan that drained to the exterior. I was very happy with the new equipment and the work done. I would use Strand Brothers again and recommend them to other people.

Service Experts/Strand Brothers sent their Technician, Alpha Tounkara to service my A/C unit today. He was right on time and extremely professional. He explained everything he did so that I could understand. He also went under my old house to look at the duct work and said that it was damaged extensively, due to probably raccoons. We have a huge problem with raccoons in my neighborhood. It was so bad, and he showed me the pictures he took, that where the pieces came together had pulled apart and consequently the underneath of my house is very cold. Alpha gave me a thorough explanation of what needed to be done and we scheduled the work for next week. I felt very well taken care of and quite impressed with this young man. Someone has done an excellent job training this technician. Smart, efficient and kind, I was happy to renew my contract with this company knowing they will take care of my equipment. UPDATE: 10/3/2016: Alex Rodriguez again performed the Cold Weather maintenance on our HVAC system. I also had him install a secondary Float Switch for our Condenser Coil Pan. Alex is knowledgeable, professional and has excellent customer service skills. From Oct 2015: We have used Strand Brothers - now Service Experts - since 2007 and have been favorably impressed by the technical knowledge and customer service skills displayed by their employees. In addition, they stand behind their equipment and are quick to respond in emergency situations. Today we had our regular maintenance inspection by Alex Rodriquez, #46, who explained what he was going to do, then went about his work quickly and with enthusiasm. When we asked questions, he clearly explained and seemed happy to do so. Alex has excellent customer service skills, which has been our experience with all Strand Brothers Service Experts employees. Obviously, customer service is a company priority.

We had an excellent experience installing two new AC units last October. Trully excellent! Three months ago, they replaced all ducts. This has been a real disaster! The upstairs AC has not been working well AT ALL since then ! Half of the upstairs floor is warm and quiet, and the other half very cold and loud. There was rattling noise as well. They fixed the rattling noise and tried to solve the other problem. Now the part that was warm and quiet is cold and loud, and vice versa. The noise has been very loud. Couple days ago, the AC stopped working because of clogged drain pipes (our fault), they fixed it but then the noise (in the cold part) became very bad. I emailed to the representative who was helping us with the replacement of the ducts, but I did hear back from him. This evening, the AC stopped working again. We have spent close to 23K with Strand Brothers and to face such on going problems is simply unacceptable.

Adam was awesome and fixed my AC unit very quickly. I called at around noon and the person scheduling said that they would be at my house between 2-4pm. Adam called me at 1:40pm letting me know that he was on his way and arrived exactly when he said he would. He was very nice and respectful of my house (and dog) and I could tell immediately that he was an expert and knew exactly what he was doing. I explained the problems I had been having and what I did to try and fix it and then he took a look at my system. He knew exactly how to fix the problem and my AC was running perfectly in about 20 minutes. He was honest about what I needed and showed/explained it to me I signed up for the yearly maintenance when he was done because he fostered a lot of trust and confidence in his company and I will be a customer for life because of that. Adam and Strand Brothers were a LIFE SAVER for me and my pup!

Too expensive for a fairly easy and okay quality plumbing job. I got Strand Brothers for a water main leak fix that involves digging the ground and replacing the broken pipe portion, which I believe is not difficult. I paid $695 (after $720 minus coupons I have) for it. It took for the technician around two hours. Even after disregarding the efficiency of the technician, I do not understand how the original bill became $720 from the beginning. The parts (some PVC and cooper connections less than 7 inches) used should not be more than $20 ~ 30. The receipt says "flat rate: $720", and does not explain anything. So the labor for ~2 hours looks to be ~$700. The work done looks okay until so far but not sure it is really a high tech or required anything special other than normal plumbing work. Still do not understand the charge at all. I feel like I got ripped off.

On the installation side, Alfonso and his crew did our installation yesterday and did a spectacular job. We did not have an easy set up (steep hill, hard to reach attic, obstructed system, etc.) They handled everything perfectly. They protected our home with drop cloths. They did it all with great, friendly attitudes. Even handled a bad thermostat efficiently and made sure all was well before leaving. On the sales side, Joe was super at explaining the different systems and helping us to get the right system for the best price. Based on our experiences this week, I would definitely recommend Strand Bros. to a friend. Update 1/27/17 - Just had our first check up on the heating. All good. And just like during installation, our technician was polite, friendly, knowledgable and tidy. Thank you Efrain #225. Well done!

Great experience with Strand Brothers Service Experts today. Our Nest smart thermostat had been throwing an error messaging about electricity and wiring. We had gone through Nest support to troubleshoot, but they could not determine the issue. I called Service Experts and they could get somebody out same-day. Adam Henwood arrived with Strand Brothers and he knew immediately what the issue was (clogged drain line), led me to the attic to confirm and to teach me what to look for, and took care of the issue in under 30 minutes. He also told me about their regular maintenance package, which for units such as your AC and furnace that are quite expensive to replace, it makes sense to give them a little regular TLC, as you would your vehicle. I would highly recommend Stand Brothers Service Experts to anyone.
