In 2014-15, our plan covered pediatric vision services. SWHP subbed out this portion of their plan to Block/Superior Vision. They would not pay our pediatric optical benefit because we did not reach the deductible on each child. Mind you, we reached the family deductible and the out-of-pocket max for the year, if the benefit was subject to the deductible. However, the plan material showed a $25 co-pay for this benefit and nothing about deductibles. S&W Optical charges were approved by SWHP for coverage on the day we went. Later, Block/Superior Vision denied it saying that SWHP only showed a deductible plan and we did not meet the deductible for each child. I was on the phone several times to SWHP over about 9 months, who said they would fix it, and then Block/Superior Vision who said that SWHP had not fixed it. Multiple times, SWHP reps verified that the benefit was only subject to a $25 copay. Many times, it was escalated up but the person on the phone could not fix the problem. I even wrote a letter detailing the situation, and even submitted an online form to SWHP. SWHP sent back a nice note that said that the matter was closed. Finally, when S&W Optical threatened to send us to collections, I gave up and paid them off. I had spent so many hours on the phone and got the runaround from the Health Plan that I gave up. It clearly should have been covered, but SWHP could not get the right information to Block/Superior Visions to pay it.

I wish I had read these reviews before selecting this health insurance plan. I am not someone who usually gives poor reviews, but in this case if it will help someone avoid such mistreatment..here it is. I had a headache from the start of trying to make the first payment. I had received confirmation in my email of my payment, and then later I was informed that I was not a customer of theirs. This almost caused a lapse in coverage. Whatever you do, do not sign up for automatic payments with them, or trust using their website. Somewhere down the line I got a month ahead, and they will not refund the payment to me. They said it is not possible to refund this because it was an automated payment. So I am insured through the last day of September 30, 2016 for their benefit because I will not be using their insurance. In addition, I will owe the government for unnecessary tax help for the month of September 2016.

A group of Chimps could run a better insurance company. My wife received coverage in Jan 2016 with myself and our two sons as dependents. It took them over two months to enter us into the system so that we could see a doctor. On April 1st they dropped me and my sons for lack of dependent verification, which would have been fine if we had received ANY communication from them regarding this matter. We then appealed their decision to drop our coverage and they gracisiously agreed to add us back onto the plan retroactively to April 1st 2016. Only problem, it is now almost July and we are still not back into their system and cannot utilize our coverage we are paying premiums for. This company is trash, the people at the top should be held accountable.

I had them through the affordable care act and it was great insurance! UNTIL, I received a letter stating I was no longer insured. So I stopped paying Scott and White and panicked trying to get another insurance plan from somewhere else. More so, I later found out it was a glitch in their system that I was NOT kicked out of their plan. I tried to get back with them but they continued to play the "you stopped paying your premium card". I later gave up on trying to explain to them that the reason I stopped paying was because I received an erroneous letter on their behalf stating I was uninsured. They are a great insurance but, unfortunately, their corporation is so big that they cannot keep up with their customers.

I am a 55 year Type 1 diabetic and after many frustrating months of arguing with plan reps was finally approved for Dexcom supplies and Omnipod supplies. Many months later, when I attempted to reorder supplies for both, I was advised by both suppliers that they could no longer ship supplies to me as the original claims had never been paid! Many phone calls later I was finally able to get Omnipod supplies. Am still waiting on the Dexcom supplier who told me they are waiting on a "contract" from S&W Senior Care, an order I began two months ago. This is very frustrating and no doubt has increased my blood glucose unnecessarily many times. I find their customer service extremely difficult and frustrating!

I really wish that I can give them less than one star. Billing???? Good luck on trying to figure that out. Customer service?????? What a joke non existent. I get rude call from them trying to charge me for nicat patches. I have never smoked a day in my life. I have spent the last year trying to get some med cond taken care of but to no avil. Drs up and quite with no notice. I get five diff amounts to what I owe them, only to go to the buss office to be told three other diff amounts. I have paid $500 + every month to get a run around and comp kept in the dark and ing. Someone needs to do some serious inj in to this comp. As for me I will start making phone calls torm.

This insurance company by far is the worst. I have been trying to cancel my policy, but when I call they just pass me from one department to another and at the end they hang up! There is no one to help or answer questions. They even got my member ID wrong and I cannot lig in to their so called friendly portal to take care of my account. Scott and White you should be ashamed of yourself charging people over 650 dollars s month and not even taking care of the basic services. I have not even recieved any insurance cards! The only thing I recieve is the monthly bill. STAY AWAY.

Absolutely awful. It is now January 31st and despite several requests to get our insurance cards, we still have not received them. I also have had to pay out of pocket for a prescription because the pharmacy (and also a medical office) have stated that our policy is inactive. It seems they have no problem taking our monthly premium but not providing coverage. I have reported them to the TX State Insurance Complaint Board and am hoping to get some sort of resolution from that. I regret switching to this company this year.

Hate this company!! This is the worst insurance company I have EVER had! They have continually screwed up my daughters plan and everytime I have called to try to get it fixed I am given the run around and have had to tell my entire story again. They need to train their people better! Also, I have asked to speak to a supervisor regarding my issue and I am not allowed for policy reasons. What kind of company does that?? I just want my money back! Buyer beware..

This is the second time I have submitted claims here. Benefits were not explained to us. I have some health issues that have now put me in the hole because I am not getting reimbursed from my HRA. I will not get this insurance next year. I feel like I was lied to about how wonderful this insurance was. I am going broke paying for my doctors appointments and having to take out loans to see my doctors. This is ridiculous

The worst.!!!!.got an increase in my policy to $2200. I did not renew for 2016. Bought anther policy for $1600 through Cigna. Scott and White continued to bill for $1600. I have spent hours on hold and after talking to customer service I got nothing but more run arounds.they have denied benefits and refused to pay prescription co pays...run from this company.
