A Bigger View Real Talk
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE: THEY WILL MESS YOU UP Stay away from these people at all cost Very dishonest . I went shopping for a new home owner policy after having the same policy for 15 years. The reason was because of a rate increase . After applying for the policy everything seem okay. this was one week before the hurricane Matthew hit our area. During the storm My roof was damaged along with several other homes in my area. At the time I signed up for this new Policy I was still covered under state farm. I contacted a contractor to fix my roof two days after the storm but was told they were back logged because of all the work they were doing. I was told they would put me on there list I contacted three contractors and they all said the same thing. I tried several times to to to the agent who signed me up but only spoke to him once during this whole ordeal . It would always be some lady in the office never the agent. I also told them I wanted them to insure my cars after the policy with State Farm expired. I did sign up with them with the understanding that the new policy would not take effect until the the day after the old policy expired. without any warning or notice they drafted my account two days before they were suppose too which cause other problems. when I called hem about there mistake they blame me for the mistake never taking any responsibility for there mistake. After that situation I told them I would have to reconsider if I wanted to insure my vehicles with there company. A few days late I revived a call from one of there employees not the agent they my homeowners policy was being canceled . I was in a state of shock. when I asked why I was told because someone had come by my house and saw the roof was in dis repairer and my trim needed painting. I then asked them if they did not realized that we had just had a hurricane in our area just a few days before I also advised they that had contacted a contractor and they had several homes ahead of me but they had promised me they would get to the job in a few days. I was told I had tell the 17th of December . I contacted my contractor and told them what as happening and they can out and completed the roof work in one day . They came on the 17 of December I was told to fax them proof of the work so I faxed them a copy of the invoice showing the job was completed with the contact information of the contractor . The contractor advised he would be back to complete the painting of the trim within a week. After faxing the invoice to these people office They called me back and told me the same day 17, December that they had everything they need and I should not worry things are good. On 26, December I was on my way home from visiting my son and daughter for Christmas in Virginia when I received a call the day after Christmas telling me my Policy was canceled I asked to speak with the agent again The employee told me she would have him call me he never did. I then asked way she said the painting was not down. Keep in mind I told these people that the contractor would be finished the painting within a few days. She also said they need photographs of the work which they never said anything about photos before then. I was so upset I sad to the employee Merry Christmas with a mocking attitude at which time I hung up the phone. After thinking through all this I called them back. I asked when was my Policy canceled. The employee stated on 17 December. I was lost for words. I asked he way I was never told my Policy was canceled . She state we sent you a letter telling you. I asked her then why are you calling me to tell me that. I did receive a letter telling me the policy was canceled but that was yesterday 27, December 2016 . So they never advised me I did not have a active policy from the 17th to December 27th. when left me in a very bad position. I will never do business with gecio ever again. It seems this office is on auto pilot

I have been a Geico customer for almost 15 years and when I bought my house, I called the local office here in North Charleston for my home owners insurance. The agent I talked to, Caitlin McNeil was knowledgeable, answered all my questions and got all my insurance needs taken care of in place by our closing date. When the date changed, I just called her and she took care of it for me no problem. Being a first time home owner, she made part of the process less complicated. I appreciate her hard work and I have had a good experience each time I have had to call the office. Frankly I am glad to have a local office I can call and get whatever information I need and know the people there will be as helpful as they can.

The agent did not know about wind mitigation. That is a big credit on your homeowners policy. I called the underwriter and discovered I had been overcharged approximately 30% because of the agent not giving a credit for the wind mitigation built into my home. $400 is a lot of money. There was no apology or remorse on the agents part.

The just care about charging you. My car was scratched and I reported the accident to police. I had everything at hand. They just said it is none of their business because they just care about insurance fee. RIDICULOUS! I would give you negative score if available
