One recent morning I left my brand new car in the hands of the service department of the dealership where I bought it for its 7500 mile service. It took about an hour and I then drove it home. As I walked around the car to enter my home I noticed a large dent in the right rear door that was not there previously. I called the dealership to tell them of the dent and the service writer I talked with asked me to return the car to them to have them look at it. The service manager looked at the dent and told me that it was not their responsibility. He said that the dent must have been there when I brought it in. It was not! I took my car to a trusted auto body shop which gave me an estimate of $865.95 to fix the dent. The 7500 mile service is nothing more than an oil change and a tire rotation, which I would normally do myself, but it was free for my car purchased at that dealership. It turned into a very expensive free service. I complained to the General Manager and the named owner of the dealership, in writing because it was impossible to get them on the telephone, but they ignored my complaint. I then sent the narrative of my complaint to the Better Business Bureau of Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois. They tried to contact the dealership management on the telephone and in writing but were ignored, as I was. After two months, I had given up hope of getting the dent fixed but the folks at the BBB would not accept being ignored. They contacted the CEO of the dealership group and suddenly my complaint was taken seriously. Not only was the dent in my door repaired, I was given a loaner car to drive while mine was in their body shop. My car would forever have that large dent in the door were it not for the perseverance of the Better Business Bureau on my behalf. I recommend them to anyone who has a similar problem.

I have repeatedly found myself in a stressful and bad situation with a business; a situation where I paid in money for service and the business was dishonest in their claim of service and was unwilling to refund my down-payment when ask for it, or not willing to render the service needed without extra charges. I had problems with billing issues with Comcast. I had problem will download issues with Garmin GPS product. I had Big, hot-tempered problems with Mavaro Solutions, auto repair insurance. In each of these cases and all other serious cases with businesses , BBB came through for me and moved each of these businesses to either right the wrong with needed service without extra charges, as in the case with Garmin, or as in the case with Mavaro Solutions refund my down payment. I do not believe I would receive the same result without them. I believe I would have had to go to count and battle for results I wanted. I also use BBB services to search out business prior to using their services, as well as, businesses I want to check out prior to sending a resume to them or doing contract work for them. BBB is rendering the public a great service, and are doing a great job in battling the dishonest,corruptive, unprofessional and unethical ways of many businesses.

We chose Zykan eXteriors to replace our roof and siding on our house and it was the best decision for our home. They did a phenomenal job and cleaned up when they were done. I like the crew and they would stop to answer any questions I had. They even came over and worked on Christmas eve. Fred Zykan really made the decision making process as easy as it could be. He brought many samples of chingles and siding for us to look at and gave us sincere suggestions and opinions. He made us feel very comfortable and we know we made the right decision to go with Zykan eXteriors. Fred was always available either in person or by phone to talk with us about any questions we had. The better business bureau is worthless. We filed a complaint against Midwest Contractors of Missouri who were hired by my elderly parents to fix their deck. They kept adding on charges and charged them $3800 for repairs then did shoddy work, nothing met building codes, ruined the stairs and my parents cannot even use them. They refuse to fix anything or refund any money and we will have to re-do the work. The company did not even respond to our complaint and now the BBB closed the case and nothing is noted online and this place still has an A rating. The BBB did nothing and has not protected customers from this company. Do not trust the ratings from the BBB, they are not accurate.

I had a long standing issue with my cable service (nine months!) which remained despite technician after technician assuring me it was fixed. I ended up in the "virtual loop" of customer service-all phone numbers led to the same national office halfway across the country which placed me back into the "virtual loop". Even the corporate office directed me to the same number! I went online to the BBB website and lodged a complaint. Within three days I had cable people swarming all over to find my problem. It got results, and the BBB checked back with me to assure things were addressed. Highly recommend turning to the BBB when one cannot get results otherwise.

My wife and I bought a car at Suntrup Nissan. Suntrup lied to us about the interest rate and the extra cost warranty AND said they had provided a copy of the warranty when they had not. They refused to answer my phone calls, letters and Emails. I filed a BBB complaint and Suntrup responded saying they had satisfied my complaints when, in fact, they had made no effort to do so. When I pointed that out to the BBB, they marked my complaint as " satisfied" and closed the file. I successfully re-opened it and mediation satisfied my major complaint, but not other parts of it. I am not satisfied in any way with Suntrup or BBB.

The service we obtained from the BBB was horrific. It started with a F rating which they could not justify and then they changed it to a B when we brought it to their attention. Our business had 23 claims that were all handled to the BBB's satisfaction. During that same time period we had 86,000 consumer interactions. That is less than 2 hundreths of one percent and they give us a "B". That would be like If I were still in school and received a 99.98 and were given a B. it truly demonstrates their ratings are meaningless. I guess we need to PAY them and become a member to obtain the A+++ rating we deserve.

You can pay for ratings and they are totally biased with who they feel should be accredited. They can deny one company but another company with the same business model they refuse. If you do NOT become a member you start with a D rating. Totally misleading to consumers that actually buy into the BS of the BBB. Please research companies using other channels for instance check with Attorney General, or the licensing entity for what ever service a company provides, Google reviews, Facebook reviews etc. Make sure to contact the people on the reviews to see if they are real people if you are really that concerned.

On occasions you will come across that business that has poor customer relations, are rigid, outright disrespectful to customers and no matter how reasonable of a request the customer makes to resolve the issue they, the business, will blame the customer and simply not arrived at a reasonable compromise. This is when the Better Business Bureau can help. They act as intermediary to help solve problems between customers and businesses. I must say that almost always when I have to resort to the last measure, the last chance and use the Better Business Bureau I have received a positive resolution to my issues

The issue that I had was with Charter Communications, was in finding the right person to talk with to resolve my issue. I have called many of the available phone numbers provided by Charter, talked with many of the Charter representatives, but after 3 months of calling and receiving many promises from Charter I still could not get my issued addressed. I then contacted the BBB and within 2 weeks, Charter addressed and resolved all of my issues. Thanks to the BBB !!! :) :)

BBB was able to resolve an issue I was having with a business, in which I was unable to get resolution. I could not even obtain a response from the business. BBB was able to contact the business and got me the result I was hoping to achieve. I got a full refund as well as an updated product. I am more than satisfied with the services that the BBB offers. I am very grateful that there is an organization in which consumers can go to in order to fight for our rights.

Today Alberto T. serviced our home. He works at Alterra, a pest control company in St. Louis Missouri. He was clean, polite and worked very hard. I have been impressed with Alterra because if you have any problems with pests, they immediately come back and correct the problem. This is not at an additional cost. Alterra will return at no cost until you are satisfied. I would definitely refer others with insect/pest problems to this company.

I have been going to Slim 180 in St. Charles, MO for quite sometime. I love Andrew and Theo and how much they care about me as a person. They truly are the best . When I stopped going, they called and called and called, they never gave up on me. Til one day I said OK you win!!! And I am back! I still have a ways to go til my final goal, but as we say One Day at A Time and with Andrew and Theo it WILL happen!

What a Scam!!!! Check out ABC BBB 20/20 on YouTube. A Non For Profit that pays MICHELLE COREY president of BBB exuberant salary every year. UNBELIEVABLE that people actually donate their time to the bbb OBLIVIOUS to the fact that Michelle Corey pays herself from non for profit SUPER HIGH amounts of INCOME!!!!! PAY the BBB and get an A+ rating or grade. The Attorney General should shut the BBB down!!!!!

After several months of trying to get a resolution for a product I purchased over the internet, BBB was my last resort. The assistance was amazing and produced results in 2 weeks. Having a third party involved and the name must have caused the vendor to release the product and make good on their promise after taking my money! Thanks for the help BBB!!

Had a problem with express scrips i couldnt get the drugs i needed I called them for a month and the always said it would be corrected but never was Then i contacted the BBB they got in touch with them and got me to the right person to correct this problem .Next thing i know the drugs were at my door ..Im so glad you re around to help us

I was very impressed with the competent and objective handling of my complaint. The BBB complaint process is very worthwhile. Anyone who thinks they were treated unfairly by a vendor show document the problem honestly and suggest a resolution. Keep good notes - even a phone conversation recording was helpful in my case. I was overcharged the copay for a medication by my prescription drug plan in January 2014. After three months of attempting to get a refund for the overcharge and getting the run around, I contact BBB. BBB resolved the dispute and I received my refund check in the mail in five days. I thank God for BBB.

Under the direction of Michelle Corey, the Saint Louis chapter of the BBB essentially practices extortion against legitimate businesses by selling grades to any members regardless of the quality of their business. Anyone standing up to their practices will have their rating downgraded.

I filed a complaint with the BBB against my Rx company. I in no way expected a response, I just felt the business should be held accountable for the unethical way they operate. To my pleasant surprise, the BBB resolved my issue and we were refunded the money owed to us.
