I live in Miami Fl. and have had cancer surgery on my right eyelid to remove a carcinoma. The dermatologist accepted Coventry Health Care . My big problem was for corrective surgery to obtain access to a Oculo Plastic surgeon to finish the operation. Coventry would not provide me open access to a local surgeon who specializes in this type of surgery. There nearest participating surgeon was in Ocala Florida and another in Tampa. Both over 6 hour drive away. Pathetic service and ignorant administration of the common needs of a patient undergoing routine surgical procedures. I am tempted to bring a law suit if possible against Coventry. I was told that my only alternative was to try admittance into emergency treatment at Jackson or Kendall Regional since I am now cut up,and without a locally accepting surgeon to finish the procedure. Coventry is a pack Pathetic non caring bureaucrats!!!!

Worst Insurance Company ever, they are flat out thieves. They try to process emergency care as an "out of network hospital" Leaving with a bill of nearly $1000. It takes hours upon hours of arguing with a call center in India or Pakistan, until you are transfer to the American supervisors "Takisha" or "La Shauna" who will continue to argue their case even though on the policy it clearly states "Out of Network Emergency Rooms, $250 co-pay/visit". You have to dispute nearly all claims in order for them to pay their portion. They are nothing but an Obama Administration backed Scam! Beware!

DO NOT do business with this company. They are a scam! I had the worst experience with them. Because of a coverage error I was trying to get a refund from them. Each time I called the customer service I was left on hold for at least an hour. And nobody seemed to take notes or kept track of anything. The next time I called I had to repeat everything to the representative and then being left on hold again. Absolutely nothing was done for my case. Canceled my policy.

I have had this insurance for 12 years, IT IS HORRIBLE, absolutely HORRIBLE, Employees must have been part time carpenters befor they were hired, You can never get the same answer twice !!! always something different, I would assume OBAMA CARE DID THEM IN , They were probably forced to start hiring unqualified people through the E.O.E. ACT. Was a decent company at one time, Now Really Bad !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Phillip

I had Coventry insurance through the exchange, and I am very happy with it. The doctor they assigned is walking distance away from me, and she is a very professional and caring doctor. I had two cataract surgeries, and everything was handled very well. You need to know your policy well so when you call the customer care reps know what you are talking about regarding coverages.

My mother, age 83 and a widow has had her medicare supplement insurance with coventry for several years.. she has recently develped malignant melanoma on her leg and has been going to doctors for treatment these past 2 months. Just after 2 months of receiving treatment Coventry sends her a letter saying they are dropping her Insurance end of this year in December 2014.

Gives me the Run Around Every Time I call. Gave me a Pediatric Doctor as my Primary Care Doctor. They Never Return my Phone Calls. STAY AWAY!

Spent 3 months, 15 days and 4 hours on the telephone with Aetna & Coventry Provider Services to get some contracting help. Unbelievable...still no answers and no information even though I have reference numbers etcetera.
