I mostly take online reviews with a grain of salt since the only people that post are usually those that have a problem with the company. However, in this case, one star or no stars is accurate. I had comprehensive insurance with Lighthouse when an animal hit my car. Took 108 days to approve all repairs with the total cost of repair $800 more than my car is worth. They do not pay out if your car is totaled Customer service was rude and indifferent. Worse yet, the majority of them were incompetent, telling me I HAD to get repairs in their shop; which is incorrect. Adjuster stopped taking my calls as well. I had to manage the entire process myself. Folks there are better insurance companies out there that cost the same. Go with Gieco or Nationwide and dont make the same mistake I did. Remember that what kills you is not the deductable but rather car rental costs as they only reimbursed $300 of the $2000 I paid in rentals.

The accident took place on 2/4/15. The other driver was at fault and had Lighthouse. I filed a claim that day and they called on 2/6/15 to tell me that an adjuster would be out the next week. Well, that next week turned into the next two months. The car was damaged on 2/4 and finally repaired and back to me on 5/20/15. In Illinois, insurance companies have 60 days to send out an adjuster, and they took just about every day. When they did come out to estimate the damage on 4/6, I had just over a month before this was all resolved. The one reason that I did not give them one star is because the auto body repair shop to which Lighthouse referred me did excellent work. Overall, expect to wait on your claim if you deal directly as I did and not through another insurance company.

I got hit by someone who has this ins This company is the worst!! I dont know how they are still in business!! They dont know anything dont call back with an explanation i dont think anyone even works there! All I got was answering machines! Still waiting for my car to be fixed. So. I decided to go through my ins because no one was responding to my phone calls after 6 weeks. Then today Charles Morgan called me. I guess they wait so you have to come up with the deductible. He had no reason why he didnt follow up! This Ins co Sucks!!

If I could give it a lower star, I would. I was rear ended by a person with this insurance. It took that party two weeks and a trip into Chicago to the office before anyone would talk to them as they do NOT answer their phones or return messages. It has been a month and my car is still not repaired. I try calling and cannot get a hold of anyone. I tried emailing and I was given a fake email address. I will be contacting the Insurance Commission about this company and reporting them.

I was hit by a drunk driver that had this insurance. They refuse to pay any towing or storage fees, but have yet to have an appraiser out to look at the car. I am on hold for at least 20 minutes every time I call, and have yet to speak to my adjuster. The accident took place over a week ago, and I have not been provided a rental car, or even a phone call to discuss my claim. Looking like I will need an attorney to get anything out of this company.

I have never experienced anything like this company in all my life!! I have called every day for the last month and am adjuster never returns my call, alway get hung up on.. They are so rude and unprofessional I have already filed a complaint with the State of Illinois and BBB.. just disgusting the way they will take your money and refuse to give you any information let alone pay on your claims. Gross.. Shame on Lighthouse.

We got in an accident with someone who has insurance through Lighthouse. They were at fault, they blew a stop sign and t-boned us. It has been over a year and we have yet to receive our money from them. Thank God we pay for actual insurance (State Farm) and that they reimbursed us (minus our deductible) so that we could get a vehicle. State Farm is STILL trying to get our deductible. These guys are a joke.

If I could not give them a no star I would!! This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with! The customer service is actually laughable. They rob you of your money and will hold out on giving you your money by any means nessacary. If I were you I would take my money and go elsewhere! Pay the extra money for piece of mind.

They suck. They do not answer if you are trying to get a claim processed. Was put on hold three times for over 30 minutes each time just to be disconnected. And yes they do say "your call is important to us" important my ass. They give you the run around. The only time they answer is if you are trying to get insurance.

They waste your time. My car got rear ended by one of their drivers. They held my car for 7 days in an impound lot which is the max before I start paying for. I called every day and got a new bs excuse until I called my insurance to file the claim. Claim in still in court and my cars total anniversary is in 7 days.

Getting ahold of someone to discuss a claim with is an absolute joke. Bunch of un-educated morons running a sub-standard insurance company. Class action lawsuit is what is best for this company. Will forward to Illinois consumer insurance regulations team. Stay clear of dealing with this institution.
