I have medical conditions that occasionally cause me to end up in the ER. Recently this company contacted my work at a number I did not have the ability to have given out. I believe that the number was given to the EMTs when I was taken in for an allergic reaction. They lied to the person who answered telling them that I had called them and they were returning my call. I looked them up and realizing that I had not, called them back. The Rep that I had talked to was very professional as he insisted that the person they called must of misunderstood what they told him, and that I needed to pay them 1500 dollars within 48 hours. Of course I do not have 1500 dollars so I offered to make a payment plan. Rather then ask if I could pay more on payments they responded with they would just send it to their lawyers instead of accepting an offer for payments. I requested at that point all communication be mail. This was followed up by a written letter that insisted that I either call them or show up within 48 hours to pay them in full and now the charges are 1600 because of interest. The letter was dated 2 days before they metered it for postage, and five days before it was post marked. I followed up with a written complaint to them to which I received no response. I filed a BBB complaint in which they responded that they had refused my offer to pay because it was to small of payments, that I was just mad because they found out were I worked (seeing as I went to the hospital from my work...) and they were in the process of suing me and had done nothing wrong. Make sure you get anything from this company in writing, they are unethical and vicious in my opinion.

Merchant services was contacted in early 2012 to assist with collection of a past due account. They were very nice initially. Since I did not hear back from them for 6 months I called and requested that the individual handling the case call me back. still did not hear from them, so call back two weeks later. After no return call I gave up...then in 2013 received an email from them asking for some information on the delinquent client which I provided. I called again 4 times over the next year with no return calls received. Forward to 2016, the delinquent client came to my facility under a different name and requested services, I recognized him but did not let on. After performing the services requested and authorized by him I informed him that I did recognize him and that if he wished to get his property back he would need to pay for his debt from 2011, which he did pay on 4.5.2016 and apologized for trying to mislead me. On 4.28.2017 I received an invoice from Merchants Credit Assoc. Requesting payment for services rendered pertaining to this case. I called and explained that they had no part in collecting this back debt, therefore I did not feel the total amount they requested was justified, but would be happy to pay a portion of it. The service manager I spoke to was extremely rude and combative and not willing to listen to my side. As such, I have made payment but would STRONGLY URGE prospective clients to BEWARE! Byron Tate

they are terrible to deal with. I called them after the hospital told me they recently sent my bill to them, I had not been contacted by them yet or received any mailed statements or anything. I tried to tell him how much was in my budget to pay each month(bill was $4500) the guy was a jerk, he told me how much I WAS GOING TO PAY, he has no idea what my income or bills or other commitments are, but he started raising his voice when I told him what my budget was. You can deal directly with the hospital or service provider and place a complaint with them about this collector. You can pay your bill directly to the hospital and the hospital will forward the payment to them, you may still have to pay Merchants credit fees, but at least they are easier to deal with.

This company does not deserve a star of any kind, The first time I dealt with this company was on my own I payed my bill in full then received a letter from these guys, I paid their charges and then today received a letter saying their was no money in my accounts at the time of cashing I called my bank they verified that there was money to cover their fee but now they are charging me an extra 35 dollars on top of the 40 I am extremely pissed.

beware when you make a payment using your credit card. Merchant Credit Association will run your transaction as a CASH ADVANCE (which they overwrite your card without you knowing about it until later), this will cause you an additional charge of $10 on your credit card, even if you have not authorized them to run the transaction as a cash advance. I do think this is very illegal of them to do it....

This company is horrible, just plain awful! They are rude, crude, and thoroughly unacceptable. "Miss Alexander" is a real jerk. I paid my debt in full and she was still a total jerk. She must be very angry to treat people in hard circumstances this way. When trying to get details of my transaction, she told she had another call coming in and had to go. Pathetic!

Apparently there was a confusion with the shipment of my billing address with a healthcare office that shall go unnamed. Once it was resolved at the healthcare office, merchants pulled the paperwork like it never happened. Never processed it through my credit and never billed me the 30% or whatever it is they charge. Thank you!

This woman I talked to over a small bill less than a 100 bucks, chews me out, calls me names and a liar... She made assumptions, low blows and thrats in order to make this collection. I am very un happy this company. They should treat people who are willing to pay with respect. Not tear them apart for small amount of money.

I was sent to this collections agency for my first, and hopefully last, unpaid debt. Their job is an unpleasant one and I spoke with them twice before taking care of my situation. They were both very nice and helpful.

Lowest pieces of human filth. No actual understanding of financials or paying off of debts. The person who runs/operates this deserves nothing but the worst things on earth to happen to them.

Faxed in information proving that my debt was cleared and the people did absolutely nothing to help! With solid proof, they still were demanding money. Absolutely unprofessional.

Parasites and obstructionists. Refused to give me details on several accounts, refused to let me speak with a manager. They profit off the suffering and misfortune of others.
