Poor service!!!! I hate it... My neighbor next door had a really bad fire now a need to clean my attic, my air conditioner, change the isolation, and my carpet because all the smoke came into my house since i live in a town house, I try to explain to the very rude woman that the inspector they send didnt even go to the athic; the estimate i send at that moment is more than what they send the woman very rude didnt even let me explain anythig she was only repeating that im responsable they send me 148$ because they say the repairs are 2,500$ and since we are responsible for that deductible the only thing they cover is 148$ well i know that they are going to comunicate with the next door negihbor insurance company so i know they are going to get money from them and how the hell they know how much the repairs and the cleaning is if they didnt have the estimates? And on top they didnt have the estimates that i try sending them for 3 days and they keep saying it was delay and after the email fails to go to that email... so then when this very rude woman call then i send it again and she got it after they send the money!!! that is just a abuse we pay a lot of money for the insurance!!!! for them to keep all when we needed most and on the top they are rude about it!!!! I hate it and every one needs to stay away from that company!!!!!!
Good price, friendly customer service; happy with them til I had a damage claim. Contract states must use their restoration service, Rapid Responce Team. The team was wonderful, lead by Rubin Sosa, they went above and beyond to satisfy. All damage repaired, my home looks brand new ! The Peoples Trust however made this process three months of horror and stress for me. Changing ajusters midway, they dragged the process out. Failing to make determinations and approvals in timley fashion, caused unnecessary delays. So stressful for me, I tried to hasten things by packing boxes, injuring my back in the process AND just as the claim was closed my policy renual was denied. Hummm !
Beware.. This is the most unprofessional company ever! They set up an inspection in my property that I had to reschedule because a work related trip. The person in charge to reschedule gave me an appointment a month and a half later because "they schedule is very busy" . After that month and a half, the inspection guy came, and 2 days after, I received a check saying that my policy was cancelled. No communication whatsoever between departments. How are you going to do an inspection and 2 days after cancel the policy???? It is a shame that you cannot put 0 stars on this company. That is what they deserve. I cannot imagine how they can be resolving a claim. STAY AWAY!!!
Never ever buy home insurance from this company. Totally a liar. They first offered you a low quote and persuade you to buy their insurance. Then they will send in an inspector to spend a half day with you to inspect your home and check every single tiny piece to record your damage. Then they will send you another bill and tell you that there are some other fees you need to pay. Your home insurance will be increased ridiculously. If you are not happy with their service, and want to cancel it. They will overrate the daily rate and refund you much less than you expected. Do not ever bother to give it try. You will pissed off by their service! The worst company I have ever had!
I like the coverage provided. The customer service needs some improvement. I had to call my tenants to schedule an inspection and I kept getting bits and pieces of information every time I called a representative. The first person I spoke to told me to select a time for an inspection. I contacted my renters then called back and got the 2nd representative who then told me that I had to choose between specific dates. I called my renters again, then followed up with the 3rd representative who told offered to contact my renters to schedule the inspection. All of this could have been taken care of with the first phone call if the sufficient information was provided.
They have good prices but you will pay for it! I had damage from a hurricane called several times and left messages and was never called back. Called and finally got someone on the phone who said couldn’t help me but would sent an email for them to call me back the next day. I waited 3 days called back and an associate said will have the customer service MANAGER call me and again no call . Please spend a little more when you need them it is not worth whatever you saved in money for the cost of stress and living in a damaged home looking for help from an insurance company you pay for Assistance that will not be there for you LOOK ELSEWHERE! save the stress.
I called the company and was happy they were willing to insure my home. I was impressed that they planned to send a trained associate to inspect my house in detail. In the end I had to cancel my contract - they were very civil and refunded my premium payment within contractual deadline. My one reservation was that the first number I used to contact the company was somehow transferred to some marketing agency that claimed all the servers were down and they could give me some sort of special deal if I gave them my contact info I declined. Sounded like a hack to me.
My husband and I chose this company because they were a local company. After being a loyal customer for 5 years we had a claim due to polybutylene pipes in our home. We are now being cancelled because our repairs are not completed in the time frame they deem acceptable. Despite our efforts to rectify things with them they are unwilling to work with good customers. I have filed a claim with the Insurance Commissoner of Florida. Hopefully they can give us the assistance and guidance we need, unlike the "Trustful" people at Peoples Trust.

After years of having coverage, never a claim or problem, but seeing my premium go up dramatically every year. Always paid on time. Today I receive a notice that my policy will not be renewed ("and we hope that is not an inconveniece") in January. The reason, they say, is that I have polybutylene pipe in my home. That pipe was not used after 1995 and my home was built in 1997. Fortunately I already have a new quote from another company for over $1000 less per year. I would Never recomend peoples trust.
Stay Away or be sorry after file claim for my roof they want me to use their own contactor company who is not recommended because they are slow and use cheap material,of course they will NOT work for me, they work for the insurance compay,Should be illegal that company force you to do this,specially when they did not tell you upfront,and that clause is only in small letters and nobody knows until is tooooo late,Stay way better no insurance that has having company,Beliveme do Not use them
I complied with a home inspection that required taking time off work; the guy they sent over found fault with absolutely everything. A few days later Ppls Trust sends me a letter giving me less than a month to make several major repairs, some of which were in the imagination of the inspector. The company refused to grant an extension and lied to me on the phone that I could take until my renewal date to meet their demands. Terrible treatment considering I never filed a single claim.
Giving them one star because there is not a choice to give them ZERO... I had a loss 3 months ago... to this date they have not paid us a cent, and just got information from my adjuster that they are sending an engineer to asses the damages all over again (causation study), another funny name for trying to deny my claim... I paid always on time and never had a claim, now that i really need the services that im paying for, they refuse to pay... will never do business with them again.
The sales service is great, but the wind migration company lacks common sense. I had all my hurricane shutters installed by Home Depot and complied with Dade County (more demanding than Pinellas) standard . However the inspectors tried to locate all the tags on the hurricane shutters and I wish him good luck because some of them are on the top floors. I had all the receipts and just asked for me and I can gave them and saved People Trust so much time. Best Regards, Tom Liu
Terrible customer service. They also work with terrible contractors such as rapid response the manager Keith took 7 months to poorly repair a house every time he was called he had a different excuse and a new web of lies when he and his team finally got around to it they did a piss poor job on finishing the walls and floors grout everywhere the tiles are un even This insurance company should be investigated and be shut down.
Company that give you a discount for not accept public adjuster. And when you get a problem, their own adjusters calculate the damage below your deductibles. So, you have to pay for everything. I talked to the adjuster only one time, at the beginning of the claim. After that, every time I called him, he never was available, and never answer my calls and messages. Somebody else hace me the answer to the claim.
They doubled my premium after a year without any claims. How can a company double its fees with no justification. I called and the answer was there are many fraudulent cases that derives the price hike. This is typical slogan of Insurance industry. Filing a case with worthless Florida Insurance Commission but not getting hopes high since they are all in same bed. Welcome to unregulated market.
Matthew was especially personable and went above and beyond to assist me. My insurance had been cancelled due to lack of renewal invoice being received and he made the entire experience a "plus" for me. My policy is reinstated as of the effective cancellation date which resulted in no lapse in coverage for me. His customer service far exceeded my expectations during this entire process.
.Do not even think insuring with this company I had a damage that happens during the last tornado. They insisted to use only their contractor; “ Rapid Response” the house has more damage now then prior to the tornado damage. I have made numerous phone calls, nothing help they are trying to avoid the issue as well as their contractor Rapid Response Avoid this company at all cost
Ufff! I was trying to find some reference on this company .. but with such bad rating, better not call them. I will continue to pay the high costs of Citizen ... no way.
These folks are very knowledgeable and willing to take the time to explain options. Pricing was better than our "good neighbor" who dropped us after 23 years of coverage for home AND auto. We had one claim in all that time when our second story A/C flooded the downstairs ceiling. There are few homeowners insurance choices for FL but these folks are great !
Horrible company! My sister has been dealing with 2 separate occurrences where her ceiling caved in and the company refuses to replace her roof. They take her payments but do not assist when in dire need of a roof. The ceiling is infested with mold due to all the rain in moisture and she has 2 kids that live in the house with her.
Scumbags. I fell for their deceptively low price, paid $1200, and then two months later got a letter stating that they were going to charge me an additional $600 for a rate increase. I paid $75 for an inspection and then still got stuck with a bill for $579. Just screwing the public like all insurance companies. Shop elsewhere.
So thankful for a great insurance company. Responded very quickly to our issues and got the work done very quickly and the outcome was awesome. They were very concerned with our case and we felt like they actually cared about us. If only all insurance companies were like this one. We could not be more satisfied.
HORRIBLE!!! Do not buy insurance from these people. Nobody calls back. We have left several messages and it has almost been a whole week. Nobody every calls back at this company. These people are incompetent. Do NOT do business with them. Read the other reviews and you can see that this company is horrible.
I switched to Peoples Trust about 6 years ago, my previous insurance company kept raising the rates every year to the point that when I found Peoples Trust it cut my homeowners insurance cost by more than 50%, this resulted in about a one hundred dollar a month saving on my house payment. Thank you Peoples Trust
