If you’re like me, you probably read the reviews for certain products or services you’re purchasing. That’s I how came to have Schmidt Mechanical Group install a brand new HVAC in our home. We had been informed by our home warranty company that Schmidt had been assigned to service our unit. We, however, after having several reps servicethe unit in the previous two years, decided to upgrade. Right before we contacted Schmidt to cancel the service call, my wife asked that I look at their website and see what others were saying about them. I was surprised when I learned that out of a 5.0 overall rating, Schmidt Mechanical Group was rated at 4.9. That led me to start reading the reviews. Most of them were rated 5.0. Wow!!! I was hooked. I contacted Schmidt Mechanical Group and was informed that a sales rep would be in contact me. Sure enough, within an hour, I was contacted by Jerod. He informed me that he would be able to meet with me the very next day! During our 1st meeting, Jerod informed that the system could be installed the very next day. We had previously been informed by Lowes and th that their contractors couldn’t install the unit for another week. What??? No A/C for a week. This happened during that little hot spell we had earlier in May 2017. So you can imagine how thrilled we were when in fact, just like Jerod stated, the boys came in the next day and hooked us up with a new system. I am rating this Group a 5.0 due to their keeping their commitment and overall professionalism. Being retired military, I was impressed that they sent out a Supervisor on the day of installment to check on the work being done. Reminded me of how The Chiefs would perform back in the days. Same Supervisor came back out the next day after being informed by Mr. Jerod (the Sales Pro), that he felt the unit was not calibrated to its full capacity. The Supervisor made some changes, and we have been totally in the “Cool” ever since. Great Job Schmidt MG. Bravo Zulu. Mr. Garza. (Sorry for late review.)

Called Schmidt for their cooling checkup with a coupon. Called on Monday, Rusty Cain was here on tuesday afternoon. The time frame was 3:00pm-5:00pm and he was here by 3:30. Did a good inspection of our system and basically found the same issues I assumed he would find. We sat down and talked with Rusty about new systems to fit our needs, and he gave us multiple options to consider without pushing any particular system. I had a number in my head for what I figured we would end up paying and they were just under that. We scheduled an appt for Thursday morning at 8:00am to install our new system and Rusty and Gilbert were at our house by 7:45 to begin the installation. All of the crew wore shoe covers every time they entered our house, they laid plastic on the carpet and were quick and efficient with the installation. The new heat pump system they installed as well as the changes they made to the draining system were really top notch. They installed a great touch screen thermostat that was very easy to program. It makes our old system look like a ceiling fan. The company owner Keith even stopped by just to introduce himself. We are not a high spending customer by any means but we sure felt like it with this service. If you have air conditioning needs, I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Rusty, Gilbert and Keith from Schmidt.

We (I & my wife) have hired this company to replace our old A/C system with a new Heating & Air Conditioning System, and we are very pleased and satisfied with all related jobs done by this company. Shawn Pickens, replacement specialist, was the total professional, very knowledgeable and educated on the product he represent. He was very personable, answered all our questions before and after installation. He took his time in making sure everything was perfect, called next couple days to check how is new unit is working, and if we have any new questions. He definitely is a great asset to this company. All support people were very friendly, respectful, neat, wore shoe covering everywhere they went. They were experienced, very well trained, and we were impressed with their punctuality and hard work. And they did an excellent job! Cleanup was great too. We would absolutely recommend this company to all our friends and to anyone. Great Job , good People, Reliable Company! Thanks Guys!!!

We have been having periodic issues with our heat pump system since we bought our house in December 2014. Each time, our home warranty sent out a random contractor with poor ratings on every site I checked. We were having another issue with our AC not working and costing us a lot in wasted energy. I was pleasantly surprised to have them send out Schmidt Mechanical who seemed to finally identify a root issue in the system and fix it while providing me with a good education into some of the issues related to our system that I was not able to get from the other companies that have been sent out in the past. We finally have working AC that is keeping the house 10 degrees cooler than we have had over the last 4-5 months. I hope that if we have any other issues in the future, our home warranty will let us specifically request Schmidt Mechanical.

Was not satisfied with service or how it was handled after. Have used them 3 times and there will not be a 4th. After posting this review they called me in an aggressive tone questioning the number of times I have used them and the unsatisfied review. Do not do business with Schmidt Mechanical Group. They are unprofessional. They then post this comment "Our records indicate we performed a tune up in August 2015 and have not returned to your home since. " Proving how unprofessional they are. Posting customer history online. DO NOT USE SCHMIDT DO NOT USE SCHMIDT. What they are too stupid to realize is the previous work was done through my insurance company. Idiots, rude, unprofessional, intrusive, and many other things. Stay away from them. Use Champion AC or Aramendia or any other San Antonio company.

I recently had my A/C unit checked out by Schmidt Mechanical. They were very responsive and did a thorough job. They identified a problem with my Condenser fan motor and capacitor. I was given a price to replace the items. I mentioned to the technician that I felt the price quoted was a bit excessive for the parts & work to be performed. Regardless, I decided to have the work done. They did the work at the price quoted and the unit is working fine. Afterwards, I decided to check the price using actual parts & actual labor and even after considering a reasonable markup, I feel that the price was 30% higher than it should have been. In the future, I will check pricing in more detail before authorizing work. I like the company, they are responsive and do good work, but I am concerned about the high cost.

Great Customer Service from Susan who answered the phone and professionally scheduled our service, and then on short notice rescheduled our service after a personal scheduling problem, to Quincy, the service technician, who showed up on time, and who was professional and courteous in handling our entire service call. Quincy professionally explained concerns about our HVAC unit so that we could easily understand current needs, and future needs down the road. He also took time to crawl up into our small attic, on a day that was 100 degrees outside, and must have been over 150 in our attic to carefully assess our aging duct work system. Great Job Schmidt...I would definitely have you back to service our HVAC, and will definitely refer you to our family and friends!!!

On 12/14/15 we were notified by our tenants in our rental home that the furnace had quit working. We had Schmidt Mechanical go out there the same day to see if it could be repaired. Unfortunately the 30 year old system was obsolete and the parts were not available. Mr. Schmidt called me at 6:30pm and went over our options and we agreed to replace the entire system. To my surprise he stated that he would have a crew out there at the residence by 8:30am the next day. I stopped by that day to see how the progress was going and they had the system installed and running by 4pm. Needless to say our tenants were ecstatic and I was very pleased with the job and professionalism of his staff. I would not hesitate to call them for all of my heating and cooling needs.

On the day of my appointment, I received a call that the tech would arrive in 20-30 minutes. The technician, Gilbert, was prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous. After inspecting my system, he explained the problems he found and gave me available options. He even put on shoe covers when he came inside my house!. He discovered that the condenser motor was running at almost double the amps. Since the unit is still under warranty, Gilbert was able to resolve the issue with the manufacturer, get the new motor, & install it all on the same day! He also checked the whole system and added some Freon. He left all contact information about my system including photos & stats. I appreciated the time he took to make sure we understood maintenance options. Thanks!

From the time I spoke to the main office, to the time Eric arrived, I felt that my problem could and would be solved in short order. I was made aware of the weekend pricing for a service call and anything that needed to be done. Since week days are hard to be at home I opted for the weekend time and rate. For me it was well worth it to get my AC back up and running.Eric arrived as scheduled. He was knowledgeable about our AC system and took care of our plugged outlet line. He spent time answering my questions and explaining the problem. He was very courteous and cleaned up the area when he finished. Highly recommend them for their customer service and professionalism.

Impressive company and employees. Tony Tamez the consultant was great, explained everything and then did what he promised. Kept in touch through my decision making process. Once I made up my mind, everything went very smoothly. He was there for a great part of the installation to make sure everything went right. The installers were superior, taking great care to clean up after a dirty job. I was impressed with their professionalism. I would recommend this company to anyone. Very enjoyable experience.Have used them every spring and fall since. Always professional and thorough. Highly recomment them for your Air and heating needs.

My family is going through a tremendous amount of aggravation as a result of poor workmanship by this company, and their failure to stand behind their promises and warranties. We hired this company in June 2014 to perform annual maintenance on our home a/c units (which are regularly maintained). After $3,500 in services they recommended, one of the units leaked a significant amount of water due to a clogged drain pipe. This happened within a 30 day warranty, which they ignored. They wanted more money to come look at the problem that they caused. Now we are left to sort out the mess.We will not use them again.

Had the unfortunate experience of an AC going out in the middle of the night. The next morning, I reached out via social media asking for referrals of an AC company that would NOT try to rip me off. Schmidt Mechanical was given the most referrals from my friends. Placed a call to them and they were out the same morning. Rusty came out and was very polite, courteous and knowledgeable. He quickly assessed the problem. Was given a fair and reasonable quote. BEST part was that my house was cool the same evening. Can NOT tell you how extremely happy I am that we used Schmidt. I recommend this company to all!

We previously sent this review; we were very pleased with Schmidt and Jose G who serviced our A/C. Seems it was 3# low on freon, so we suspect that on the original installation barely 3 yrs ago (new home) that it was never filled properly! Anyway, we purchased the annual maintenance agmt.; there are about 4 neighbors to whom we have given a business card, and we all will be calling for an appt. in early Dec. for maintenance on our heating units. Will try to coordinate all on the same day for service since we are in far NW SA and a fairly long drive for the service rep!!! Thanks again!!!

We needed to get a new ac unit since ours was not cooling... we had 3 companies come out and give us estimates. Schmidt by far was the best. They actually asked us about our allergies (which are horrible by the way lol) and other things like, how often we are home, what we like to set our unit at and all kinds of things... I felt confident in choosing them. They helped us with financing and everything. The technicians were great and worked around us and our kids while they were here.. I highly recommend them and will be using them for all of our servicing issues in the future!
