I bought a used car at John L. Smith this summer, finding a Subaru Forrester waiting for me in excellent condition. It was and is a perfect car for me, and after some brief negotiation, I bought it right away. Matt, John and their financing guy made it very easy for me, finding me the lowest possible interest rate on my car loan, and I drove away same day with my car. First experience, great, and happy. 2nd- John Barrone, who runs the place, is also an insurance agent, and offered me a competitive reason to go with his auto and home insurance as well, which I did. Kudos to Amy who patiently dealt with all of the curves I threw at her, and kept dealing with every detail and change with good humor. Boy, am I glad I also switched insurance companies! I hit a dear with my Subaru two weeks ago, and since it was still driveable, I drove after hours to the John L. Smith car lot. The next day, I called John and he said he would take care of everything. He got me a rental car right away, negotiated with the insurance company for me, found a body collision repair company to do the work, and yesterday, I got my newly repaired car back. Kudos to John L. Smith and John Barrone for giving me excellent customer service! One last incident-I lost my car keys one day and informed John Barrone late on a Friday in December. John went to a Subaru dealer and had a key made for me the same day. I have to say that the way a small business survives in this world with competition everywhere, is to give excellent customer service. That is my experience with John L. Smith, and that is why he will be my car dealer from now on.

Yesterday my mother went in for a service- they recommended a ball joint. When in fact the vehicle needed a tie rod...which later that night the tie rod off of the steering box separated. If this had happened when my mom or 17 year old younger brother had been driving the vehicle, even at normal speed or even worse highway speed, it could have been deadly. Anyone in the field with half of a brain knows how dangerous a bad tie rod is. I manage a BMW repair shop and would never let someone leave my shop without stressing how unsafe it is driving with a bad tie rod- we even make the customer sign a waver if they refuse the repair. These guys could not even diagnose the tie rod correctly and let my mom leave with no knowledge of what her car needed. I am honestly disgusted they would let this happen- we have been taking our family cars here for basic maintenance for years. No longer.

I went in not knowing a whole lot about what I wanted in a car, I had a few models picked out from looking on the site, but sitting down and discussing what I was looking at with Jeff as well as his suggestions about some cars I had not researched, I came away with a new car, less miles, and a very affordable monthly payment. He was extremely knowledgeable, and made sure that everything I signed was my decision. He made sure I was informed, and when I asked questions about things I did not know he took that as an opportunity to educate me instead of use scare tactics to get me to buy something I may not have needed. I would recommend John L. Smith to anyone looking to buy a car but does not want the hassle of dealing with the stereotypical car salesman. When I left the lot, I was happy with my decision knowing that I got a great car at a great price!

You cannot go wrong with this man!!! John is a life saver, miracle worker and an angel!!! My car was totaled 4 days ago and i called john and he led us thrpugh the whole situation.. Going from what was going to have us in a situation with no car and a loan to finish paying off we ended up fighting the amount they were totaling our car out for and we came out on top with my first car (also from john l smith) paid off amd enough money left to put us in a 4 year NEWER car fully loaded without dropping amtrhing extra!! We couldnt of done it without him!!! Thanks to him and ccaf we rode home in our new car today !!! John will pit his neck out for you if you are work your butt off just to get by day to day!!! I came to your dealership with a serious transmission problem. John Andrusko was quickly able to diagnosis the problem, offer me options and quote me rates. He listened to my concerns and helped me to weigh out the pros and cons in investing a new (used) tranny in my 98 Honda without any pressure. Once the decision was made, John secured a good used tranny with less miles, had it installed and back to me - all in about 48 hours. Tremendous service! The car is running like a top and getting better gas mileage too. John professionalism, knowledge and friendliness made this a positive experience and I am confident in the work done. Just had my MB fixed there. Incredibly bad experience! Asked them to replace the front light, the fuse for the sound system, and the check-up of the electrical system. Guess how much they charged? $390! Found nothing wrong with the electrical system. But along the process, they broke the vent cover and would not take responsibility. A simple job but I have to go back sever times to tighten the loose end. Will never go back again!

Absolutely honest and ethical and a pleasure to do business with by every measure. Had a problem with a recent used car purchase, made right at (their) considerable expense without hesitation. This is my third used car purchase there. I would not consider going anywhere else. Service department is equally respectful, competent, and responsive. i went to see john barone i was recommended by a fellow associate. Had a great experience john was very helpfull he took his time with me answered all of my questions and he went out of his way. I will recommend several friends. Go there they are great. They have a service department and a rental car facility. No Pressure I bought a certified VW and they are giving me oil changes and free state inspections.
