The customer service truly is miserable. Heaven forbid that you should pass away while having paid in advance for your premium. My aunt carried Medicare supplement Plan B with this company. It has been four months since we filed the proper paper work (after her passing), yet we still have not received a refund of her premium overpayment. As the executor of her estate, I have given IBX the proper paperwork at least twice. Finally, a week ago, I hand carried all necessary documentation to their Market Street office and was reassured that all necessary paper work was filed. Still no refund, no processing of UNPAID claims. Today, when I called their customer service, I was told that they could see my record of communication attempts, that I had given the correct paperwork, but that they could not talk to me about details because the Hippa form though received had not been "imaged". YIKES!!!

Paid my premiums fully and on time for the first 6 months of 2015. Ibx canceled my insurance, accused me of being delinquent, and asked all my doctors to pay back the claims that were already paid, because my coverage was supposedly canceled prior to time of service. How can my coverage be canceled and I get labeled delinquent and be billed for every month from January through June? Many calls to Customer Service resulted in a lot of promises but nothing happened. After contacting appeals, I got cryptic message, from an appeals representative, telling me to call customer service and ask them to correct the issue!! In short, IBX has the worst customer service I have ever encountered in my life and I sincerely regret ever signing up with them. I have now reached the point where I am involving the State Insurance Department in an attempt to resolve the issue.

This insurance company is by far the worst company I have ever had insurance through. It has taken 8 months to receive compensation for medicine that I paid for out of pocket. Additionally, I cancelled my insurance but was still charged the premium. After about 10 calls to the company and 2.5 months of waiting I still have not received the refund. The customer service reps are friendly, however no action on their part is ever done in a timely manner. Additionally, it appears odd that the other reviews on this company are either 1 or 5 stars; very few ratings in between. How is it that so many positive reviews directly contradict the negative reviews? And the positive reviews are rather vague. I believe that the company is having employees rate the company to give a false perception of the company.

My wife and I visited the IBX Live building to discuss some issues with our Blue Cross Medicare plan and, also, to explore our options for a possible change in our coverage for 2018. We were helped by Kevaun who also called in Denise as her expertise is in Medicare plans. Our questions and concerns were discussed in full; we did not feel rushed. Indeed, Kevaun spent quite a bit of time with us trying to clear up an issue from April and checking on a possible improvement in our insurance for the following year. We had met Candace on an earlier visit (she is a Medicare Sales representative) and she had been very informative as well. In summary, my wife and I felt that people really listened when we asked questions or presented scenarios and we were provided with excellent service.

The worst company and customer service I have ever dealt with. I have paid timely for two years and they have stated I am behind $10,000. I have gone to my bank and had ordered print outs of all transactions with IBX. IT SHOWS I HAVE NOT MISSED A PAYMENT AND YET THEY CANCELLED ME AND REFUSED TO PAY ANY MEDICAL BILLS. I can get anyone to help not even the accounting department. Every time I call, they say they will review and call me back. However, they bill me again showing I am thousands behind. No one will look at my payment history that I emailed to accounting dept. It is disgraceful!!! What are they doing with my money. THey are not crediting me with all my payments and they are not paying my bills. Who do you go to for help. HELP HELP HELP

For months my girlfriend has been trying to straighten out a mistake by a data entry person at this company, today they decided to cancel her vision insurance, even though she has sent them copies of every payment made, and discussed the problem with no less than 15 people there. There is never any follow up, nor is there anyone who can fix the problem they caused, or they simply do not care. If there was a way to contact them and sit down with a rep, we would do it. My girlfriend has spent no less than 3 hours every moth talking to them, and nothing ever changes. There is absolutely no customer service at all with this company.

This is my first time writing a review. Just because I had extremely terrible customer service experience with IBX. They send me wrong bill for five month, they keep charging me twice every month. No matter how i tried to request them to correct the error, no response from them at all. Always say" we will call you back" or " they have no authority to do so, i have to contact the person I bought insurance from" . and sometimes it takes an hour to get connected with the customer service Representative. Just wanna say they are not prepared for their customers, or willing to help. I will never choose this company ever.

Awful! They sent me a bill for $330 for my annual GYN exam. They stated that my premiums were not paid on time. I sent them all of my bank statements. Meanwhile, they accomplished nothing at all. My bill went to collections. I even called prior to my visit to make sure everything was in place, as I had another issue with their customer service in the past. After paying $1168.00/month in premiums, they did nothing for me. I wonder where all of that money went?

WARNING: Independence Blue Cross is a running a SCAM! They had no problem cashing my $500-per-month premium checks for several years, but now that I actually need the insurance they refuse to pay my health care providers, who are trying to collect around $20,000 for services that should cost $2,000 (the insurance company-negotiated rate). Do NOT deal with Independence because they are liars and thieves who are in cahoots with crooked doctors and hospitals.

Even 1 star is too much for this organizations customer service. They call themselves the insurer of last resort; be warned. As a customer who has had to deal with their customer (lack of) service people , there lack of detail, follow through and just listening proves that they feel we are a last resort! The coverage is good, billing is bad or worse and getting anything corrected is a nightmare! BE WARNED.

Absolutely terrible. I have been told 3 times by them that they will send my insurance card within 5-7 business days. I had insurance since March and STILL did not receive my insurance card. It is almost May. Total disgrace to insurance companies and should not be allowed to be a licensed health insurance company. Absolutely terrible. DO NOT GET INDEPENDENT BLUE CROSS BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!

Terrible company. I am with Cigna now. Originally went with blue cross through obama care. Still working out the medical bills from the birth of my child and have talked with numerous managers for the past 7 months since her birth. Every time I call I am told something different and that is why this cant be worked through! Obviously the employees and supervisors are very poorly trained.

Worst customer service. Yelled at me in the phone. Refused to give me information. Refused to cancel my policy. Refused to refund monthly premiums they imposed after my policy had been cancelled. On top of that the customer service rep intentionally disconnected me. I hope their compliance issues get them shut down or at least get a few folks fired. What a disgrace.

I just had my first telemedicine visit, made possible by Independence Blue Cross. It was so great! I was super sick and never had to leave my couch - I just used the app to call up a provider, who was able to diagnose me with strep throat and call in a prescription within 7 minutes. Awesome!
