At this moment, I am writing an email to cancel our coverage. A claim of mine was denied last September 2015. Supporting documentation was produced by my dentist, the claim was appealed, and it was resubmitted in December. The resubmission was reflected on their website online. I visited the site daily so that I could personally see when the claim was paid. The claim was in "pending" status for weeks, then, suddenly in January 2016, the claimed dropped off altogether. I spoke with my dentist and was told the claim was denied a second time. I phoned Solstice on 2/4/2016 and spoke with a supervisor, S.F. and he informed me that there had never been a second submission. Hmm. He advised me to have the claim resubmitted with supporting documentation (again), and to email it to him. He promised to forward the documents to their claim escalation department. My last communication with S.F. was 2/15/2016. In an email, he informed me that the claim had been appealed and that a resolution would result in the next "day or two". I have emailed and phoned several time since, however, with no success. My last phones call to Mr. F was today, 3/15/16. Both times I called, the phone rang twice, then the call disconnected. A few weeks ago, I phoned and emailed another supervisor, Mr. J.O., when Mr. F was out of the office. There was no return call or email from him, either. I cannot continue to do business with a company who fails to provide basic customer service and timely communication. Additionally, I continue to have issues with their quirky online payment system. Our frustration has resulted in termination of coverage. Hopefully, others will not experience the same substandard service. 3/16/2016: I received an immediate response to cancel coverage. The reply implied that no Pre-Treatment Estimate was sent by the dental office. I have since filed claims with the Florida Insurance Commissioner and with the Better Business Bureau.

I am extremely disappointed with Solstice. I have called and sent letters and emails and forms; you say you never received them. I wait on the phone an average of 30 minutes each time I call. After waiting 30 minutes to reach someone, I spoke with you on 5/31/16 from 12:26 until 1:20 pm est. I called to discuss claims that were not received (although this was the second time sent) and not reimbursed. At first I sent them through the US mail, and then, I sent them through certified mail. I sent them to your PO Box, but you said I needed to send them to a physical address, if they were sent certified. Each time, I had to personally request of my dentist to send the physical xrays because Solstice won’t reimburse without xrays. You suggested I scan a copy of the xrays to expedite the claims. I did this, but I was told that the images couldn’t be read because I needed to use PDF. When I returned to my computer, after our call, I realized that I had used PDF. I am now for a final time going to a mail store to have them send these claims PDF AGAIN. In addition to these claims that I have been trying to resolve since November, and it is now July, I have a claim a doctor submitted and wrote a letter for that is outstanding since March. I cannot get a figure on when and what I will be reimbursed from Solstice reps. I am very disappointed with your insurance. I don’t know what the problem or hold up is, since it your job to handle claims and expeditiously reimburse people who have spent money on medical service they have paid to insure.

My rating for Solstice Dental is zero stars. If there are any stars selected here, it may be as a default to enable posting a review. I was sent email payment balances from the company to be paid, without a membership card sent to me, to get the preventative care I’d enrolled for. After the first month of payment and not receiving a member card I tried calling the with an vioce-automated option to call a line for existing members, and had no luck getting through as I was unable to get an answer. I figured that they would not turn away callers on the line for individuals looking to purchase a plan, and I was correct in thinking so as I was successful in reaching a gentleman who seemed very helpful in finding my information in the system and assuring to send me a membership card after confirming my address. Almost a month later I’ve received another bill via email stating my balance to be paid, and I have yet to see any postage with my card from Solstice to take advantage of the alleged services offered. I also have no copies of policy benefits, coverage, or anything else for that matter, only balances owed. I should’ve checked the online reviews here before signing up with this coverage, as my suspicions of questioning this company’s legitimacy after my brief experience are now clarified after reading other similar experiences posted. HORRIBLE DENTAL INSURANCE!!! I am stuck with this dental company through my employer. I have asked them for a membership card about 6 times and was always told one will be sent and I have never got one. A claim was submitted when my son had dental work done and I called several times about every 2 months and was told they needed one small minor thing from the Dentist and then the claim would be paid. Finally a year went by and they finally told me that they are not paying the claim. Why would you tell me every time I called prior to this it would paid and now you are telling me it is not eligible to be paid. This should have been told to me during one of my first calls. During my last couple calls to them I was told that the Supervisor Fabio would call me back. He never called me. When I called back to speak with him, I was told that he was not available. I would be put on hold for long periods of time (15 minutes or more) while they would speak to Fabio and then come back to me and tell me that Fabio said we cannot pay your claim. Why could Fabio not man up and speak to directly in regards to this?

If I could give them negative starts I would. Bought this plan, had it 5 months... tried to use it... but, the only office in the area that accepted it dropped the plan ( I see why now!) My son needed his wisdom teeth extracted... and we could not even find a single oral surgeon in the area that accepted it ( We searched for 100 miles!!!) We were basically sold a bill of goods. Very deceptive!! I have tried 38 times to get through to a person. Got voicemail for member services ( which I am certain does not exist!) Not a SOUL to answer questions, no one to call. DO NOT BUY THIS!!! DECEPTIVE COMPANY!!! NEVER have I had such a terrible experience!

This plan was recommended by my dentist when I quit my job and became self employed. This is a discount plan and fits my needs perfectly. I was a benefits administrator at my old position and although I may pay a little more out of pocket when I go to the dentist the cost of the plan is half of what I paid through my employer so I am paying less per year then I was. Anyone shopping for a dental plan needs to really look at what kind s of procedures they may need for the coming year. Most plans have out of pockets costs for any procedures over and above the regular cleanings. This was and is a great plan for myself and my family.

Great company excellent customer service. I have had a client relationship with Solstice Benefits for over 7 years and they are always willing to go the extra mile for my employees. Their Account Managers provide great service, they are very knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. Their Sales, customer service team, billing, claims and employee relations teams were always also very attentive to all our inquiries with quick turn around of any issues we presented. All of this was very appreciated as our offices are located throughout the US. We are happy with the services provided by Solstice.

I am glad to hear that others have been able to get a hold of this company and a least get an answer. I have called twice as the people on the other end told me to go online to get information about doctors local to me. I have gone on line at least once a day for the past 9 weeks and still cannot get the system to work. I have called dentists locally and I cannot find one dentist (of any quality) that will accept my coverage. I have never seen a company so willing to take my money and not give anything in return. I now associate dental insurance companies with used car salesmen/saleswoman.

Absolutely horrible insurance. Very disorganized, calling customer service is a waste of time, when you do call, plan to be on hold for at least 35 minutes, also you will get a different answer to the same question each time you do call. The website is horrible. When I go to my home portal, the "benefits" section does not open, but of course the "pay bill" section does. My advice, spend a little more money, this plan is a waste of your time. Not even worthy of 1 star.

Do NOT use this company for anything - total administrative nightmare and rip-off tactics. We only used them for 2 cleanings a year, paid $75 each month and was double billed, encountered less than professional customer service each and every time for 2 years. Throwing your money away with this company. Also reporting to the State of Florida after learning of the consistent poor business tactics used by Solstice. BEWARE!!!

They cancelled my plan without letting me know or sending me a renewal notice. From the time of my dental consultation and when the dentist verified my account as active account to the time of the procedure, Solstice cancelled my plan. I paid for a six months in advance and received 5 months of benefits. WTF. I ended up paying the entire dental bill out of pocket.

Wow..... my dentist told me that they were good. I went with that. I signed up during open enrollment. Just realized that I never heard from them and googled them to get contact info. I see this 1.9 rating... Horrifying. maybe I am lucky they never contacted me. I wish I had done something else. i need dental, but will pass on this.

Absolutely the most inefficient and horrible service ever experienced! They deserve negative stars.Takes 1/2 year for them to pay claims, if they pay. They should go to jail for false claims of providing benefits as well as have to pay out for the time lost by clients and administrators for their horrible system.

Incredibly poor performance by this company. They have managed to lose my data, terminate my account, fail to pay claims, return calls and perform in any way possible EXCEPT taking my monthly payment via my credit card. If you are considering this company RUN NOW.
