They are a horrible company. When dealing with them and their adjusters, make sure you have everything in writing. Ecspecially when dealing with the inspectors. And have your contractor present, to deal with their bs. Filed a claim, was denied even though contractors told me I had a case. Went to switch companies, and the new company told me I had to have a complete roof replacement or they would not cover me. Roof was ten years old. Year later, $9700 of out of pocket repairs.

I have been a Western National policyholder since 1988. One of the reasons I stay is the customer service. When I have unfortunately had claims, they respond quickly anticipating what I will need before I do. I was in a car accident and called them from the side of the road. By the time I arrived at the shop in the tow truck, a rental car was waiting for me. I have always been treated fairly and respectfully by any employee of Western National and their agents.

This company is not friendly. My minivan was hit on front bumper resulting a large crack. I went to major auto body shop BARA and MAACO. Both suggested the bumper needs to replace. But the West National Insurance hired American General Adjusting and proposed to pay just repair by hiding the crack simply using additive and paint. Unbelievable! Do not go with the company!!!!

It took seven hours and a dozen phone calls for an agent to provide a claim number. Same day I called my agent and filed a claim for medical, less than 10 minute process and claim number in hand. On the final call I was told it would be another 48 hours before I had a claim number for billing. I guess they just expected me to walk the 25 miles to work and 25 miles back.

I chose Western National in 1990 after my insurance agent recommended them. They stayed with us as our kids were driving, and our rates never went up due to accidents or tickets. Claims handling was fast, fair, and professional. Other carriers might cost a little less, but the peace of mind I have with Western National is priceless.

Western National Insurance will always try to avoid paying claims and will do as much as possibly to procrastinate. As others have mentioned, they are slow and the adjusters are rude. Avoid this company for both personal and business insurance needs. Try American Family, Farmers, or Liberty.

I sold my contracting business, and terminated my policy. 3 months after termination, Western National performed an "audit" on my policy, and charged me $705 to "audit" a cancelled policy that had never had a claim against it. These guys are as bad as Wells Fargo ....
