Asked WMGB to visit my home and give me a quote to insulate my Cape Cod/Knee Wall room and rim joists. Mike McKay was very professional and thorough in explaining everything. I feel like I understand the job that is to be done. Awaiting to have the job completed and will write a follow up when it is all done! Nice job so far! Update: Overall I am pleased with the job that was done. There was a complication with a power line that caused a delay in my installation which is completely understandable. Unfortunately it was rescheduled a good 30-45 days out after the original installation to coordinate with the energy company. However the day that the job was supposed to be finished, no one showed up at the house because the installer had injured his back on another project. This was a bit frustrating as there should be more than one individual qualified to do the job that could have taken his place. After this delay, I had to follow up with the company on multiple occasions to make sure they had plans and a hard date on the calendar to return to complete the original job. I learned the job was re-scheduled again an additional 30 days out (now approaching 90 days since the project began) to coincide with the power company. On the scheduled date I come home on lunch to meet another third party at my home and one of the crew members informed me that the job would have been done sooner but the original person tasked with the job “didn’t know what he was doing” and so they asked him to come out instead. He seemed a bit frustrated and I felt bad for the guy but it just seemed like poor planning in my opinion. Overall I’m happy with the quality of the work that was done but I was a bit annoyed by the constant rescheduling, shuffling around and communication on the second and third visits. I know the power company was responsible for a portion of it and the folks in the office did the best they could but it just felt challenging from my perspective.

Our work involved air sealing the attic and installing additional blown-cellulose insulation. The work crew arrived on time and took the time to protect our hardwood floors and carpeted stairs prior to their work. We appreciated this. The crew-leader gave me updates throughout the day with their progress. The reason I deducted 1 star is that the crew-leader needed to check with me with regards to the quoted scope of work, R-factor promised, etc. This really should have been reviewed with the WMGB sales rep prior to arriving on the job site. The workers were pleasant, professional, and hard-working. Clean-up afterwards was adequate. Their vacuum broke down, so they asked to borrow ours for a portion of the clean-up. Not a big deal. The entire experience was fine. Estimator was on time, answered all of my questions, took time to explain options, had samples to see, etc. Good about the coupon I had, which is so often a stumbling block. Two installers arrived 20 minutes early but had called 30 minutes in advance with the warning they were on their way and did say they could wait until scheduled time if preferred. Did a GREAT job cleaning up. Windows look good and have already been through torrential rain so all appears great with installation. I was slightly annoyed that "deposit" on my credit card ended up being entire amount, and I had to ask for copy of warranty, but other than that, very pleased.

I asked for an estimate and they send a sales associate to my house who wants to charge me $30 per window to rake a little bit of wood chip away from the window. Then he was extremely pushy about getting me to spend extra money and selling me extra services. They also tried to get me to sign a contract right on the spot without clearly stating that this means i have agreed to purchase their services. Forcing someone into signing right on getting the quote seems like a shady business practice.

I love my new glass block windows. I have an older house that had junky basement windows and 1 junky bathroom window. I immediately noticed improved insulation and they look a lot better. I was however surprised that they did not do any finishing/trim work. I have big chunks of drywall missing that I need to fix and trim out the window. Great for a new install and better than trying to do it yourself... but count on some additional work.

He took the time to answer all of our questions and we felt that we were able to make an informed choice. The installation of our windows was done very quickly and professionally. The mortar on both the interior and exterior is very smooth and attractive. We have no complaints. Installation for 4 windows took about 2 1/2 hours.

Saw an advertisement on TV for this place. They quoted us half the price as another contractor we called. They installed 4 glass block windows with vents to replace our old metal framed windows. Took about 5 hours. Employees were all very respectful and very easy to work with. No complaints and the windows look GREAT!

At the time I scheduled an appointment the only time available was in the afternoon but the day of they called to ask if they could come earlier which I was very happy with.
