I swear they make up their own rules and legislation as they go. I quit a job of 10 months due too new management being verbally and physically aggressive. I quit, and did not try to collect for this, found another job within two weeks, at less pay. Worked there for 4 months, and when I tried to get a raise I was "suspended for theft". The UIA even admitted there was NO EVIDENCE of this misconduct, and said I was eligible for benefits. But because I quit my previous job they penalized me $4,332 and called it a "Rework Requirement". Now I was just $95.40 short of this "requirement". So I was denied my benefits, and am in the process of losing my home, my car and I just lost a job because I could not afford the gas, because I had to depend on UIA to give me my benefits. I will officially be homeless as of July 1st, and I can not borrow from friends and family, as they do not have enough for themselves. Because that job was minimum wage I could not meet their expectations. Thank you UIA for failing to protect workers that pay their taxes too you!

Hate this place!! This is the absolute WORST place to try and get any help! No matter what time I get here, there are never enough people working. The ones who are there take their sweet time and end up being NO HELP! I have wasted money and time waiting for hours just to speak to a Rep. When I finally did, she was rude and very short with me. She did not give me any info on how to correctly file a protest. I ended up getting denied for benefits. Smhhhh WORST STATE EVER to file unemployment insurance!!!

The Worst service ever . no call can be answered no web can we working good ,if you insert your password wrong 3 times your locked for ever . the worst people they hire ,the meanest language they use . and then no one help you . i voting five stars not for them but for us stupid people to accept this kind of treatments . IRS follow us on every penny , and when we go down ,no one look at us till we rotten and die . the best thing to do is open your window and watch the snow while your freeze with them .

Bunch of crooks. This is MY MONEY. One day before my layoff i hurt my ankle, had to rest for a week or two. They denied me until im able to work, which i have been. i was laid off 12-5 and its now 2-16 and i still have NOT received money. i havent eaten in days to feed my kid, about to lose my car and everything else. Their answer? oh wait.. they wont answer and my protest is still in progress. Last i checked my taxes paid their families and now im forced to suffer.

Cant get thru on the phone lines and cant get anyone to respond to my emails which they say is faster. Umm yeah sure. And why does a former coworker get her unemployment benefits who did quit and me who was fired have had to fight thought i won my hearing but I am now at a rehearing. Starting to think this is a joke to even try to go farther. State of Mi if you want my vote redo your unemployment stuff right it is a joke that is not funny at all.

Call volume is to high consistently probably because their website sucks. online locks your account after you reset the password only to have to log in with your newly reset password and gives you 3 tries at your new password and then locks you out again. so you have to call and have it reset again so you can reset your password only to have it lock out again. what a joke.

Worst place ever. They will do everything in thier power to deny you the money you are owed. Its impossible to get a hold of anyone by phone. When something happens on thier end they act like its your fault. If yoy do get ahold of someone half the time they just act like they are helping but when you call next time they tell you nobodys done anything.

Absolutely worthless agency. I though the army was bad for constantly losing paperwork and screwing people over for whatever bullshit reason they can find. MI unemployment is worse. They dont even care if people become homeless if it means they can save themselves a buck. Better bonus for them i guess.

The service is horrible, the website seems like it was designed to keep people from using it. Vague details of what to do on top of poor website organization. Then if you try calling UIA, no one will answer, ever. Way to do a piss poor job at finding people jobs, Michigan quality at its finest. Garbage.

The customer service representatives are incredibly rude for no reason. The website is incredibly in need of renovations especially when additional claims are required. I am beyond unhappy that I even have to resort to getting benefits. I had to call and the representative had an attitude off the bat!

The Michigan unemployment site is absolutely useless with vague jargon, no in depth explanations for claims being denied. You call the 800 number and they tell you to do everything online, still waiting for my claim to be approved since November 10, and its been almost a month with no payment.

Website a disgrace to Michigan Government. Impossible to search for anything. Phone lines are not answered or you get hung up on. If the government wants something from me I better do it right now, but I can wait for months to get an answer.
