We had a very bad experience with Blue Care Network of Michigan. The call center representatives could not answer most of our questions and placed us on hold numerous times for long periods of time. The staff were polite, but gave misinformation time and time again. Our worst experience was when we wanted to switch plans to save money after a major life event of having a baby. We called and asked to change plans and they sent paperwork in the mail. We filled it out and returned it promptly. We followed up a few weeks later to make sure the change went through. A representative said it was the wrong paperwork and the time period to change had closed. I explained the error was on their end and they apologized and said there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak with a supervisor and they said they were busy on calls. I asked for a call back from a supervisor and they said that would happen, but never did. This was just one of many challenges. We do not recommend Blue Care Network and provide this review to help others when making their healthcare decision.

The mandatory referral from your primary family physician make it impossible to receive any care when you are out of town. The "blue care network approval to provide services" is an incredible waste of time for physicians and patients. It causes a delay in treatment, which also leads to additional health problems. Worst health insurance plan ever.

The worst! When I was calling during my pregnancy for information on what tests were covered, I could not get a straight answer from ANYONE about what was covered or not. Two different people would give me two different answers. There is basically no way to find out for sure what is covered in your plan. Extremely frustrating!

Please change the phone number on this. This number takes you to Blue Cross blue shield, which is not the same as blue care network. I had to go through all the prompts and information only to find out they have to transfer me to "blue care network".

Rude call center, Coverage that isnt worth a crap. They withhold medications behind deductibles so high that a normal person can not meet them, unless they are shot. All to keep people sick.
