I have been with Jimmy Reid and State Farm for 18 years. Service is excellent, rates are great. I like being with an insurance company that is a mutual insurance company not a publicly traded insurance company. A mutual insurance company is an insurance company owned entirely by its policyholders. Any profits earned by a mutual insurance company are rebated to policyholders in the form of dividend distributions or reduced future premiums. In contrast, a stock insurance company is owned by investors who have purchased company stock; any profits generated by a stock insurance company are distributed to the investors without necessarily benefiting the policyholders.

The team that Reid has assembled takes good care of me. Earlier this year I found myself in need of 2 quotes immediately, and they responded quickly and professionally. They spared me from having to repeat visits to DC government agency offices. Lauren, in particular, saved me and she did so in a friendly, helpful manner. More recently I worked with Bridney and directly with Mr. Reid on a claim, and they both went out of their way to ensure that I received prompt, personal service, and that State Farm handled my claim appropriately. Ed Rosenthal has been handling our accounts with State Farm for years. He is very helpful when I need to make payment adjustment on our car insurances. If I know I will be short on a certain car premium for the month, I would just call him and ask if I could delay the payment for a week and all he says is "no problem!" and will note that on our account.
