Was contact by their agency but told them I wanted an HO-5 and I was informed State Farm didn’t have an HO-5. Cody at State Farm told me that was incorrect so I pressed him for specifics. Got gems like this “A general bare bones fire policy is an HO-3. A HO-5 is a replacement cost home policy.” When asked if it was named or open peril I got this ” There are only so many perils that can happen in a home policy compared to an auto policy.” This didn’t jive with anything I was being told so I requested a copy of the policy. Low and behold the policy provided for open peril on the dwelling and named peril on the property, mirroring an HO-3, which I didn’t want. I contact the agency owner Nick Rouse and got this gem “ If you are buying a single family dwelling, our homeowners policy is the number one rated policy in the market place and is a replacement cost policy, subject to the perils listed on the policy forms. It is a for sure HO-5 policy. I have verified that with our underwriting team. HO-5 policies provide the most protection for a homeowner for their house, it is the most inclusive policy that insurance companies provide on a home.” Now Nick never could provide documentation to support they have the #1 ranked policy. I provided him documentation explaining to him the definition of an HO-3 policy and an HO-5 policy from investopedia. HO3 is Open Peril on the Structure and Named Peril on the Property. HO-5 is Open Peril on the Structure and Property. Even when I provided him the definitions and the language from his own policy he still didn’t get it and sent me this “ If you are buying a single family dwelling, our homeowners policy is the number one rated policy in the market place and is a replacement cost policy, subject to the perils listed on the policy forms. State Farm has named theirs the Form 5 and it’s basically an HO-3. I told Nick it’s not good when the client is educating the “professional”. Stay away unless you want to be fed a bunch of marketing bs and second hand answers. My review is REAL, this actually happened. Obviously the other reviews are more positive. Maybe he got better or girlfriends and sisters just have a lower bar.

I don’t tend to write reviews often but can’t stand reading a bad review on a great team! Everyone has a different experience I’m sure however, Nick and his team have been able to save me more money on my car insurance than I thought possible. I was also able to save a large amount of money by refinancing my car with them. They are always looking at ways to save people the most money and are eager to educate anyone on any of the financial services they provide. I would recommend Nick’s team to anyone looking for an agent that will care about your personal needs and go above and beyond for you.
