Yesterday Chris likely closed what was likely the most difficult mortgage refinance he’ll complete with the most difficult mortgage prospect he’ll deal with in years...me. It’s important to note that Chris didn’t solicit this letter of recommendation, but earned it. As an advisor with over two decades of experience, a degree in finance, a masters degree in financial services and seven other financial designations I’ve learned a little about money, about how money works and about financial institutions. That’s problem number one; the regulatory environment surrounding the mortgage market has disassociated the mortgage process from all basis in common sense and reasonable understanding. To suggest I found this frustrating is an understatement. Chris did a fantastic job of calmly educating a less than patient customer about ‘why’ things happen the way they do in the market. Humbly, our family has been fortunate to amass a nest egg most would be thrilled to have with no consumer debt. Based on our balance sheet and 800+ credit score we expected banks to line up and beg us for our business. That’s problem two; a self-employed person with multiple business interests and investment real estate creates more headaches for a mortgage broker than there are aspirins to handle them. Chris once again diplomatically and professionally navigated the hostile territory created by lenders who view any mortgage application that isn’t ‘vanilla’ as though it were a grenade and a mortgage prospect who might be ‘thin skinned’ about having his financial integrity questioned. In short, I was maybe a bit of a pain in the tuchus. Chris however remained the consummate, unflustered professional, who consistently provided timely updates and explanations guiding our mortgage refinance to a smooth and successful conclusion. The reality of today’s mortgage market is unfortunate; while mortgages may appear simple, banks are still reeling from the mortgage crisis. Peacefully navigating the minefield that is today’s mortgage market requires the guidance of an experienced professional. Chris Brown exceeds the definition of experienced professional in every sense. Be patient and know your mortgage finances are in the best hands possible.

t had been already three weeks since we complete the closing of our first “home”. As a newlywed family with two kids and a lots of illusions, there was missing a final piece to complete the perfection of our life. After we got married, we set up the plan for having the dream house to come true, this included budgeting, careful analysis of the monthly debt, getting advises from our parents and our closest friends, and a lot of faith in our Lord. We moved to Orlando due to my work and new horizons started to paint ahead of us: What is a good neighborhood? How can we invest our savings? How can we do for making this first experience not so painful?, a lot of questions crossed to our minds during our first two years of planning. Then a new assignment came, I was relocated back to Argentina for at least two years. New country, different culture, new challenges, in almost two years our dreams continued, but our planning basically stopped; it was not until two month before coming back when we decided to get back on the notepad and sketch a plan. "We will arrive to Orlando and we’ll start the house hunting”, and so we did. On a December 31st afternoon, your name came across the screen of the tablet, and by chance I clicked “Contact Chris Brown”. That millisecond was crucial for bringing up a lot of questions ringing in my head. How will you trust this “guy”?, Why him and not the second option?, Will this person know how to deal with a “couple” like us?. It was not up to a couple of hours when you called us and then the questions started to vanish, and our trust grew to a point of dealing with you as a very old friend. You, your team and everyone that supported us trough all this experience, guided us from the perspective of a very experienced team, who knows the market and the right moves at every step. With all our heart, we will like to thank you and your Team (Renee, Dee, Aimee, Tony), which were always one call away to our very minimum questions, and always guiding us in the right path. I contacted Chris after meeting him at one of his seminars I attended. I received a letter from an out of state mortgage company offering to save me money on my mortgage with a re-finance. The offer seemed a little off with the numbers so I called Chris to get his advice. He took the time to review my numbers and agreed that something seemed off base but encouraged me to probe deeper questions from the lender and get it in writing to be sure it was a legitimate deal. He actually advised me to do the deal if I found the answers to be true and accurate as it would save me a couple hundred dollars each month. He did not slander the lender or try to offer me a better deal as other mortgage lenders I have called in the past. He was honest and truthful that he was not familiar with this particular program they were pitching me and offered to look at the information further if I wanted him to. I would highly recommend Chris to anyone looking for an honest certified mortgage planner!
