I first worked with Max about a year ago when he came highly recommended by our outstanding real estate agent, Arlene Maze. Max and his team proved to be not only consummate professionals, but Max is also a joy to work with and brings good humor to what might otherwise be dreary business. He offered extensive knowledge of financing a home, was very personable and pleasant to work with, was fast and efficient in processing the loan for a quick closing, and his fees were very reasonable if not low. What more could you ask for? Based on this excellent experience, Max was an obvious choice when we signed a contract on a condominium last fall, with our son as a co-owner. Because our son had low income, and the seller was an investment group that had foreclosed on the property and had just converted it from a duplex to condos, this deal was considerably more complicated than usual. Despite numerous difficulties, Max came through with flying colors. First he lined up financing that had been difficult to obtain due to our son’s credit status, and then he went to bat for us with the lender and got us a lower interest rate than competitors could provide. Then he waded through multiple hassles with the seller and their marginally competent closing agent, and still brought the deal in on time, all at a bargain price. If I ever buy another piece of property, I will certainly be calling Max Leaman for the financing.

We turned to Max in a panic one month before closing when we felt the mortgage broker our realtor orginally recommended was lacking in expertise and mortgage rate knowledge. Max was a breath of fresh air. Upon first contacting him, he met us the next morning and got things started efficiently and expediently. Anytime we had a concern or question, he answered us promptly via phone and email with clear explanations. Best of all, we closed on time! He even showed up in person for our closing while we were signing paperwork to address any final hour questions and offered guidance on what would happen next with the homestead act, mortgage payments, etc. If you are purchasing your first property in Texas, Max is super knowledgeable about the loan process, appraisals, mortgage rates and more. Talk to him first before considering another mortgage loan lender. His customer service and care through a really stressful time for us was A+.

I had a fairly rough time finding a house. We put down 8 offers before finally getting our dream home. Each time I contacted Amy to make sure the numbers worked. Each time she was able to help me and thats not just where her (and the whole Leaman team) help stopped. I was working with the seller on our current house, it was late, Friday evening and I emailed the Leaman team hoping to get a letter to help sweeten the deal...Amy had Max help me out (she was out of town for the holiday weekend) and we ended up getting our dream home. After hearing about the nightmare some of my friends went through, I was no only surprised but really grateful that our final transaction was so smooth. I have nothing bad to say about Amy or anyone else on the Leaman team, because we had nothing but positive experiences. I would recommend these guys to anyone 100%

These guys are nuts!! They closed my refi in less than 3 weeks! I came to Max with a huge dilemma. I needed to do a cash-out refi on my investment property in Houston and I only had 3 weeks to do it. Apparently, there was a Fannie Mae guideline that permitted the “cash-out”, using the delayed financing exemption, but you had to close the refi within 6 months of the purchase. Of course, I was at 5 months and 1 week when I realized this. From the beginning, Max assured me that it wasn’t a matter of IF we can close, but WHEN we can close. Sure enough, he was a man of his words… I evaluate lenders on 4 criteria: service, ability to close, communication/promptness, and price (in that exact order). The Leaman Team, which includes Max, Jori, and Billie Ann scores a 10 in all these areas…I can’t wait to do business with them again!

I was buying my first home recently and was looking to change my lender as my first was non-responsive after the initial quote. The Leaman Team was recommended by my realtor, so I decided to go through them for my loan. I cannot begin to explain how well they took care of me throughout the entire process. Sherri Eckert in particular made the entire loan process extremely smooth. She always made sure I stayed on track, thoroughly explained every document/detail, incredibly responsive, and always open and honest throughout the process. To top it off, they gave me a much better rate than I received with the first lender! Everything went about as smooth as I could have possibly hoped for. Max is super! I have been looking at purchasing a house for 3+ years. I was given names of highly recommended lenders/brokers. I have a highest credit score, but... regardless I have been turned down by all of them. It seemed to me that they were not interested at all. That is why I was desperate to find a real person like Max (not a dead duck like most of the lenders, sorry to say that, but I have been burnt by them). He is the type who would find a solution for any challenging situation- I really appreciate it because I am a similar person-I try to help people and not send them away. There got to be a solution to any problems, I believe. So yes, I would strongly recommend Max-he is the best!!!!!

Max is The Best...by far! My home buying situation was complicated by the fact I was getting a divorce about the same time as trying to buy a house. Timing was everything since I needed the divorce final before I could close. Max and his staff did the work all on the assumption the divorce would be finalized by a certain date with a subsequent closing within 4 days. So when the divorce was delayed by the county to the Friday after my scheduled closing, I thought this was going to cost me my house, earnest money and/or a higher interest rate. Somehow Max pulled it through....new closing date, prepared new paperwork and same interest rate. Very impressed with this guy!

She took the time to understand my situation and worked out the best loan for me. Her colleagues were very professional and did not waste any time in getting everything done. They got me the loan in half the time everyone else told me it could be done. They also did not tell me they could do something they really could not get done. We had an AWESOME experience with the Max Leaman Team. My wife and I are self-employed and were having trouble getting Chase, Bank Of America, etc to really go to bat for us. I found the reviews for Max on Yelp and decided to give him a shot - he was the only lender that actually appeared to WANT to help us. Self-employment can be tricky with our income vs. business income, etc, but he never once led us to believe it would be difficult to qualify.
