I highly recommend American Financing to you and especially Sherron Lewis. I had wanted to refinance for some time and came on an Internet site that told me that I should shop and compare before choosing which mortgage company I should use. I agreed, and the site sent some basic information to several companies who called me in the next couple of days. I let them check my information and decided to contact American Financing as well. I heard about them on the radio and they said they could refinance without any "upfront" money. (I fully expected them to say that they couldn’t really do this, but they could!) This was very important to me since we have paid the upfront money before, got the appraisal, and never heard back from the company. I met with Sherron shortly after getting information from some other companies. He explained their perspective and said that he could probably beat anything that was out there. I told him that he was just one of several companies that we were looking at and he welcomed the challenge. One guy from another company was "offended" when I told him that I was going to check with other companies. "Who told you to do that?" Ironically, it was the same people that gave him my phone number. When I mentioned to Sherron that we were checking for the best price he said to go for it, "The more dogs fighting for the same food just benefits you. If they offer you a better deal, we can come even lower." He just wanted to make sure that we would take any new price back to him so that he could complete. This was amazing. When I went back to the other companies, they were not able to match the numbers AND they were not able to proceed without $400+ in upfront fees. (They still thought I should choose them for some soft reasons... crazy.) Our refinance was completed in about 3 weeks.. (The other companies were bragging about a month). When the actual numbers came through, the interest rate was better as Sherron predicted and the closing numbers were better as he also predicted. They sent a notary public out who was friendly and very knowledgeable. He knew everything about what we were looking at and was very clear and patient while we signed and went through everything. I asked Sherron after one of his checkup calls if he ever calls with bad news. For us, this was win after win after win. These guys are excellent. I have already referred him to my friends who are starting the process. I recommend him and American Financing to you as well.

“Bait and switch” is probably the best term I can use to describe my final experience with American Financing. Other mortgage companies will give you much better rates and actually stick by them. AF supposively was competitive, offered to match/beat out a competitor, gave me a new closing worksheet to show that and set up a closing date/time appt for next week. Then, at the end of the day yesterday (Friday), I received a call that they would no longer provide the loan under those already agreed upon terms - and so the rug was pulled up from underneath us. Here is the letter I’ve written to American Finance and I hope this helps as many of you make the best decision you can for your families, your investment and your wallet. At the end of the day, customers are solely transactions to American Financing. ————————— I trusted that I could count on a company as reputable as American Financing to follow through with the revised mortgage rates and conditions that we thoroughly discussed after I was given a more competitive rate by another company, Better Mortgage. I was advised by American Financing to cancel my appraisal purchase/rate lock with Better Mortgage because I was told by American Financing that they would meet the same terms. I was even told to cancel my auto-pay with my current mortgage company as we wouldn’t have to pay this month, so I did. I was run through the new numbers and had a closing date/time scheduled in 5 days. That was until late today when I got a call out of the blue that you would no longer produce the loan. I feel lied to and led on to believe that American Financing is a stand-up corporation. The other company was even willing to beat you out by $1000 and I turned them down because of the relationship forged between me and the representative with your company who worked her butt off to show why AF is “the mortgage company of choice.” Unfortunately, she now has to be the face of your bad decision-making and inability to live up to your false offers. Does American Financing really care about their customers? After all of this, I’m not so sure. Great companies put customer-service and experience first, even if there are financial repercussions for the mistakes they may have made. Hopefully in sharing this ordeal with other homeowners, I can prevent more people from being put through the same deceptive practices that American Financing shuffled me through.

Mr. Payne, My name is Cindy Raffay, I am a Realtor with Keller Williams Avenues. My husband and I recently relocated here from Ohio ,where I was with Keller Williams there for 5 years. I first became acquainted with your company and Ms. Catherine Muzaffer when clients I have came with a pre approval from American Financing, After I received their pre approval letter I called Cathy and explained to her that I am a new agent in Colorado and as such I was not familiar with all programs available to future homebuyers. Cathy took her time to explain the CHFA program which my clients the Houstons were utilizing. Mrs. Houston told me of her positive experience with Cathy on the phone and how Cathy returned her phone calls when other lenders would not. Fast forward 30 days and my husband and I found ourselves in a situation where we were ready to put an offer in on a home in Arvada however we needed to get a pre approval. I had several lenders that I contacted, one extremely rude person and one that never called me back and then I remembered my clients and the positive things they said about American Financing and Cathy and thought I would give her a call. She was not only gracious and polite but she was diligent in working into the evening to crunch numbers and get all her figures together before issuing us a pre approval,which in turn we were able to make an offer and we are under contract to close March 11 2016. Because of Cathy and how she worked with my clients and now my husband and I , I have already referred her and your company to one of my co workers. Moving forward in my real estate career here in Colorado I definitely will be referring American Financing to any clients that come to me for pre approval. As a Realtor it is extremely important to me to have lenders I can rely on and trust and even more important to have a person like Cathy to go to in these situations. The positive experience we had with American Financing far exceeded what we expected. I highly recommend American Financing for any mortgage needs. We decided to look into refinancing our home and review our options. We worked with Curtis Brannan and after a few basic questions, within a few hours, he called me back the same day to lay out my program options. The options were exactly what we needed and in no time at all, we agreed on the best option for my need. Everything was done over the phone and e-mail. I never had to take time off of work to drive into some office. Curtis took care of everything. I sent him exactly what he requested over e-mail and he did all the paper work and even had a local appraisal company call me to schedule a convenient time. His conversations were short and to the point (no fluff) and quick to get the task done. The best part was our final closing was done right at our own home. Curtis scheduled a local closer to drive to our home and explain the closing paperwork. She was extremely knowledgeable and patient when signing our closing documents. She answered every question we had and we never felt any pressure to rush through the documents. Being able to close in the comfort of our home was a great experience and made the closing process much more enjoyable. Working with Curtis and his team was a great experience. He does what he says he will do and does it well. He listened to what our needs were and responded with programs to match our needs. Thank you all very much for helping us in our refinancing needs. Curtis and his team at American Financing has raised the bar for my expectations for any mortgage needs.

If i could leave negative stars I would. It started great, Me and my wife got approved for a loan, they hooked us up with a great realtor as well. We spent weeks looking for a home, with all the people moving it made it hard to look at a place because they were selling so fast. We took time off work to look, we raced to houses to look at em before they sold. After a few weeks of searching nd taking time off work looking, we got a letter in the mail from them saying we were no longer approved. It offered no explanation why, we already had our pre approval letter and now we were not. Numerous calls into them calling the mortgage agent and his supervisor went no where. Even the realtor they hooked us up with was pissed at them for all ours and his wasted time and not being able to get ahold of them after. Idk how many voice-mails we left and got no reply. We filed a complaint with the BBB and after is when they called us back, still offering no real explanation why other then they just changed their mind...wtf kinda response is that? Then they asked me to withdraw my complaint with the BBB in return for a 100 gift card which they never ended up sending. My complaint with BBB did end up standing and I sent them the pre approval letter and the letter saying we were then denied so they took it from there. I do not and will not endorse this horrible company. They wasted so much of our time took off work for nothing lost wages etc. They get endorsed on so many iheart radio stations to and it makes me hate this company with a passion because their fUll of lies and deceit. Do not come to this company go else where!!!!

At first the process started out slow and seemed as if it were going nowhere. That was the day we were assigned the first mortgage consultant and it was also the day we met the real estate agent Jamie Bernal. Because my credit was not so great I was then sent to the credit care department. This department helps buyers repair credit issues by suggesting what needs to be fixed. Jim Brown was the man that helped me. He had a lot of good advise in which we followed. After I fixed what was needed to my score jumped 60 points. At this point it was time to replace the mortgage consultant that I was first assigned because we did not mesh. Fast forward, Pam Gifford was assigned as my mortgage consultant She is a wonderful person, very knowledgeable in her profession, and truly cares about the people she works with. As well as Jamie, who also truly cared about making sure we got a house before our lease in our rental was up and in the price range we could afford. Jamie also helped us get the new mortgage consultant, Pam, what an amazing difference she made. Jim, Pam and Jamie are all very proficient at their job and went above and beyond making our dream of owning a house come true. If we were to have an All Star team we would definitely choose these 3 to be heading our team. We are very thankful for them all.

If I could give this company less than one star I would. As a repeat customer over a period of almost a decade it was very disturbing to be treated in the manner we were treated. I would highly recommend going to any other company that can offer a loan including the local loan shark on corner if you want to treated like a valued customer or even a human being. If you want to be treated like you are a criminal and a liar than this is the company for you. Regardless of the reason you want a home loan please, please ,please find anyone else to help you. When this company promises something I can attest that it is untrue and will never be followed through. They will also tell you that the documentation provided from your financial institutions is inadequate and cannot be used to establish the information requested by the underwriter. They will also promise to give you credits at closing that will never be given. You can also expect that the required closing information to not be completed and they will tell you to just bring extra cash to closing and then get reimbursed. The most sad thing is that when you actually take time to file a complaint on their web site asking for someone to contact you to discuss the problems that will also be ignored. This company is one to avoid.
