It’s important to recognize and appreciate companies like ARS Recue Rooter /Charleston when they follow up and do the right thing - I had concerns regarding some tears in my HVAC ductwork, ductwork seemed to be pulling away from where it feeds into the air handler. An energy consultant who visited my home brought this to my attention. ARS Resue Rooter of Charleston originally installed HVAC ductwork + new air handler into my attic several years ago – upon calling ARS to voice my concerns – Supervisor; Preston quickly made things right. Sending technician Mat S / 1825 over to my home to assess the situation. Matt Smort is a knowledgeable ARS technician who was committed to resolving the issues and alleviating my concerns. My heat went out and I decided to get a new HVAC unit installed. I submitted a request for in in home consultation on Wednesday night and ARS responded first thing in the morning Thursday. I asked for an in home appointment on Saturday and scheduled it. Saturday (Nov 22) morning they called to ask if they could come early since another appointment cancelled. So they ended up showing up over an hour early which was great. After drafting up multiple options we came to agreement for an install and scheduled the install for Tuesday morning (Nov 25). The install team showed up promptly as promised. The team was excellent and far exceeded expectations. They arrived on time on a rainy day. They first thing they did was put down floor mats to protect my carpet and wood floors. They went straight to work removing the old system and worked pretty much non-stop for the next 8 hours or so. The quality of work was outstanding. The crew was professional and courteous and made sure I understood the new system, warranties, and answered any questions I had. I would highly recommend this company based on the experience I had. Thanks go out to Joey, James and Jonathan for their excellent service.
I live with my grandmother and her 60+ year old house had all original plumbing. Needless to say, the house was due for some plumbing work. She called and talked to Evan W. in Customer Service and he got together with one of the ARS plumbers, Tom D., to work up a quote. Tom scoped the job out within 24 hours of my grandmother contacting Evan and estimated that it would take three days of work to get the plumbing up to par. Evan worked out a really good price to help out my grandmother simply because it was the right thing to do and refused any deposit or payment until the work was completed. On the day the work was to start, Tom showed up with two other plumbers and informed her that he was upgrading the type of piping for no additional charge. They were done by the end of the first day and the plumbing was only down for a few hours while the switched the lines over. The ARS staff were professional from start to finish. We are very satisfied with the level of service provided.
My Ac unit stopped working in the middle of the night on a thursday. I figured no problem I will be fine call a repair man on Friday and get it fixed. Well that did not work out so well. Being in the Low Country of SC where it gets hotter than hades all the repair companies were busy and the earliest I could get was Monday! We would have died by then. A friend reccomended I call ARS. I did and they got to me that night. Chuck arrived diagnosed the machine (which is 23 years old I found out) and then he gave me an estimate. It seemed fair considering the motor and two other things needed replaced. When poor chuck tried to remove the fan from the motor it was petrified to it from rusting for so many years. This man used every trick in the book and got it off there. One of the best repairmen I have ever encountered! Thank you ARS for getting me up and running again your the best! Total cost was $653.00 very fair I think I would have paid way more to get that air back on.
I go home at 7:00 p.m. to discover my house was 88 degrees! I was thinking how can I do this as no way could I be off work the next day for repair service but I was breaking out in a heat rash. Was going to go to a hotel so I called ARS to beg for first a.m. appointment and hoped my neighbor would bail me out. Found out there was a repairman who had started home but would come all the way back to help me. I was so GRATEFUL. He came back and fixed it and by 11:00 p.m. I was back to a cool and comfortable home. Dave was professional, courteous, made me feel at ease, explained what was broken showed me the new part installed. I am forever grateful to Dave, his supervisor who got him there and assured me they were there to assist me even though was so late, and to all at ARS. Oh...p.s...my poor little hot kittens thank you too!!
Scheduled an appointment for plumbing work to get done and they simply never showed. I called and the operator kept telling me someone was on the way for about 8 hours that day. I called Suburban Plumbing the next day and they showed up on the spot. I loved them so much that I had them replace every line I had in my house to stainless steel braided lines. I had them fix the original issue which was a broken pipe under my sink and then I had him inspect my entire plumbing system. I found that my hot water heater was on the fritz and he replaced it within 30 minutes. Since they did so much Suburban Plumbing also threw in an entire lifetime Plumbing home warranty. This includes free service calls and and then 20% off any plumbing repairs. ARS is a joke and I’d highly recommend to anyone to use Suburban Plumbing!!
I was interested in getting a quote for a new HVAC system. I called and scheduled an appointment for someone to come out. The company called and rescheduled my appointment TWICE. After the first time, they offered $300 in a voucher toward my new HVAC installation for my “inconvenience.” When they called and rescheduled the second time, they offered another $300 voucher towards installation. On the day of my third appointment that was scheduled, they were a no-show-no call. I would not do business with this company no matter how much they offered in vouchers. Very undependable and unprofessional. I can only imagine if my HVAC system was installed by them and I was calling them for a service call! Terrible way to conduct business.
Poor customer service. I called the toll-free # and they supposedly tried to transfer me to the local office in my area, N Charleston SC. I waited about 5 minutes on hold for them to come back on the line and say someone would call me back. Well, no one did. I called directly to the local office today and was given a service window between 12-5pm. The ARS tech called me around 3 and said it would be a little after 5 when they arrive. At 650pm, no one had arrived so I called to get a status on arrival time. Someone took my info and said they would call me back. Here it is 1003pm, and no one has called. Poor customer service. I will take my business elsewhere.
5 star experience! Jamal and Luke were extremely helpful, quick, and immediately were able to diagnose the problem. They educated me on how to avoid the problem in the future and explained the repair process to me so I was able to understand how plumbing and Sewers work. I have worked with this company on three different occasions (water heater, sink installation, and this time was for washer line snaking) and each experience was top notch. Quality products bring a client in, but great service brings the client back. Thanks guys for your professionalism! I will be calling you again should I have any problems in the future. Keep up the great work!!
Worst customer service I have ever experienced! Failed to show for appointment. They did call to inform me that they were running behind but would be sure to take care of me today. Two days later I called them to cancel and request a refund for the service agreement payment made. I called again the next day and the person I spoke with said I needed to put in an email the reason why I wanted to cancel and that I was requesting a refund. I did this on June 27,2016. On July 15, 2016 they charged my credit card another payment. I have sent two more emails to them and as of August 04, 2016, I have not heard a word from them. I will not use ARS ever again!
The Tech that showed up was timely friendly, respectful. and had over 30 years of HVAC experience which was a huge +. He listen to my concerns and offered sound practical advise. I used this company today because they were running a special on a spring "Tune Up". He went through the whole system inside out top to bottom. he was very thorough. I have an 18 year old unit and he was familiar with all the components of an older unit. He wrote up a nice detailed report and did not rush through the inspection. I would use this company again if they would dispatched Technician....Bruce S.
Ive had nothing but trouble with ARS since we moved into our newly built home 5 years ago. 4 out of 5 summers weve had issues with the AC and tech after tech came and "fixed" things well today we called in a different company and were shown all the issues and broken parts including the one we paid to fix a year and a half ago. We also have mold in the attic now! Cant believe how poorly weve been treated when calling to discuss the on going problem and are given no compensation or even just admitting they screwed up. So now we have to replace the units and try to get rid of mold!
