I’m debating on calling BBB for the unprofessional, deceitfulness and dishonesty that I received from this company and their team. Especially after reading some of the reviews online (which I should have done prior to calling your company). My hot water went out on Friday (7/7/17). I called Preferred Home Service that morning and I will have to say, they were prompt on meeting my demand. I was greeted by Mike L that afternoon. He came into my house and spent a total of 15 mins (only five of those minutes directly looking at my water heater). He did not bring in a single tool into my house to test anything on the water heater. After the debilitating five mins he assured me that there was a leak and that my whole unit needed to be replaced. A $1700 value. I questioned the amount knowing that I could get a 50 gallon brand new tank at Lowes Hardware for only $479. I couldn’t imagine labor would be valued at $1300! He ask me to basically name my price, what could I afford, and they would work with me on the rest. That comment told me that something was shady and very unprofessional so I kindly told him his services were not needed. I immediately called another professional and again, was promptly greeted. He spent a total of 30 mins, actually running tests, a TRUE diagnostic. He used a multi-meter to determine that the elements and the thermostats were all working correctly. Then he turned the multi-meter on the breaker to only find out that I had a faulty breaker. Your guy never touched a multi-meter or any tool for that matter. I asked him about the leak that your guy assured me that I had. He said he couldn’t find a leak, that the only thing he could see was corrosion only from the unit siting outside. I asked him how much I owed him. For tests, parts, and labor I was out only $100 compared to your quote of $1700. From what I have seen online, your company is all about the sells pitch, the bigger dollar, not true customer value. And from what I have read, Mike L is only about falsely over selling on replacement that are truly not needed. I believe I should be reimbursed the $49.50 I paid since obviously there was no diagnostic ever ran, if there was, he would have noticed it was never the unit, only the breaker. Great Service and a very polite/ professional team from start to finish! Absolutely satisfied... and stellar customer service was always in mind! Mike was our Service Technician regarding a few repair requests we had with our home. He was absolutely courteous, clean, organized, helpful and very informative from start to finish. This was one of our most pleasurable interactions with a repair company after being homeowners for over 15 years. It was also transparent that Mike was very happy to be a part of the company! The company may be slightly more expensive than other local companies. However, they are upfront with repair costs, present alternate options and even have very good discounts/coupons. The business model impression is long-term partnership with their customers and WAS NOT on short finanicial wins (the infamous quick "dollar" schemes others have). We have already recommended this company to known CONTACTS IN THE AREA. Note to owner and team: Keep up the great work ethic, associate satisfaction and delighting the customer mindset... your team is excellent and Mike was hands down a great tech for us! You have something good going ... stay on track!
I heard about Preferred Homes Services and decided to call them for my HVAC problem. Of course they are really hard to miss with their bright green trucks. When I called that afternoon they made an appointment the very next morning and showed up right at the beginning of the appointment window. I was very surprised as some companies show up later than the window they have designated. Kyle was polite and listened intently to the details of what I was experiencing. He went right to work diagnosing the problem. Within minutes he had figured out where the problem was coming from and had it rectified before I could even go back up to the attic to see how it was coming. I was very impressed by the way it was handled and his expertise. I would call them anytime for any maintenance or repair and had a very pleasant experience for a change when it comes to HVAC maintenance. They get my vote when it comes to professionalism. I had a Navien tank-less gas water heater installed and I could not have had better service. I spoke to Morgan R. at customer service and she was very pleasant and helpful. She sent a plumber out within a few hours to go over information and provide and estimate. The plumber was Gary P. and he was very knowledgeable about the product and was more than willing to answer any questions that I had. I felt no pressure to buy from Preferred. His work was very professional and neat. He made sure I understood everything about the water heater before and after it was installed. I appreciated the comparison of the Navien to other products available on the market. I certainly would call Preferred Home Services again for any plumbing needs, or other services they provide, that I may need in the future. Thanks again! Gary and Morgan for a great experience. I contacted Preferred Home Services early this afternoon to schedule an appointment after SCEG found a gas leak in my home’s hot water heater. The company was able to fit me in for an appointment the same day, even if that meant their technicians had to come after general business hours. Plumbing technician Ben Milak responded to my home today to complete the repairs; he was early for the appointment and very professional. He explained what repairs needed to be made and the prices were very reasonable. Since my fiancé and I moved into our home we have dealt with numberous technicians for home repairs. A company that is reliable and that employees technicians that are on time and trustworthy makes a huge difference. Preferred Home Services is one of our favorites companies, we will be contacting them again in the future!
Will J. and his crew are all skilled professionals. They arrived on time each day. Will and his team were courteous, efficient, and friendly. Will ensured that each step of the installations (two heat pumps with ducting) were completed correctly. He kept my wife and I informed of the progress and he met all of his target dates. He took the time to explain the features of the new systems. He also recommended some changes to improve the performance of the units. His recommendations were followed and we now have two wonderful HVAC units to provide clean, cool air for our home. Will and his crew cleaned up thoroughly before they left. I would be extremely happy to have Will J.and his crew perform any HVAC services at my home or business. It was a real pleasure to have them in my home!
Forrest was a great assistant to Wesley. He was very professional, attentive, and willing to help with whatever the task was. Wesley by far has been one of the better people I have ever worked with when it comes to home ownership. Wesley has always been prompt, honest, easy to talk to and would take time out of whatever he is doing to sit down and explain what was going on and what he has been doing. I was nervous to hire people to work on my A/C system because I have not had the best of service prior, but since calling Prefered Home Services and having Wesley as a technician on 5 occasions I can honestly say I have had the best experience imaginable. I will continue to use Prefered Home Services and hoping Wesley is the person that answers the call. Thank you for an A+++ experience.

Preferred Home Services provided great service with friendly and professional attitude in their employees. I sent an email to them late Friday evening on an plumbing issue, within in five minutes I received a call to discuss what my needs where and a appointment was scheduled for Monday morning. I met Gary at the door after receiving his and Michelle K. picture on-line. I received calls giving the status when I should expect Gary to arrive. Gary inquired of my plumbing needs and he accessed it, then presented estimate. Both employees where really friendly. I was very pleased with this service, and highly recommend them to others. Not the cheapest company however, I guess your get what you pay for in the long run. I highly recommend Preferred Home Services.
Mike was fantastic. One of the best service technicians I have ever utilized in my life in any skilled craft. He was very professional but also quite personal in dealing with my bathroom sink issue. He gave me the pricing in a reasonable time and I agreed to the pricing prior to the work being done. He also gave me some sound advice on replacement of a water heater and fixing an outdoor faucet. He provided estimates for each. He also replaced the flapper in a toilet that had been repaired by Preferred Home Services last year since it was still under warrantee. He put in a heavier flapper. We believe the current flapper was leaking due to low weight and this was causing the tank to have to partially refill every two to four hours.
Preferred Home Services has now become my one stop shop for anything HVAC and/or Plumbing related. These guys really know what they are doing, do an awesome job of explaining and educating and also have thorough follow up and follow through before during and after the job is complete! They have a great value of a maintenance plan that enables them to stay in touch with you, the customer, and more importantly stay on top of maintenance on some of the most expensive and important systems in your home...SO THAT, they have a longer than average life expactancy and in the long run saves you THOUSANDS of dollars! They have me as a client for life!!! I will be highly recommending them to all of my friends and family.
Professional staff who took the time to complete the job right. When issues were identified during installation, they were corrected without additional charge or cost. The 5-year warranty on all parts and labor was a big selling point - something that other vendors could not match. Other vendors offered the manufacturers parts warranty, but not potential labor costs. Preferred Home Services even corrected several problems caused by our former "home warranty" vendor who only made "band-aid" repairs after repeated visits. Preferred Home Services personnel arrived on time, cleaned the work area after they finished, and took the time to instruct me on the proper operation of the equipment. Highly recommended.

We had a really complicated problem with our HVAC. The auxiliary heat was running simultaneously with the A/C! I discovered the problem at 4pm on a Friday and Preferred Home was at my house within an hour. Even though we needed parts and other related repairs, Wesley was able to get our A/C functioning again while parts were ordered. Once they came in he bought them out and did a lot of detective work finding all of the problems (and there were several unusual ones) and fixing them. He kept me informed every step of the way. Every employee we encountered or spoke to was pleasant, polite, and helpful. We are very pleased with our experience and from now on Preferred Home will be our first call.
I have been using Preferred Home Services for many years to help service my hvac units. After purchasing a new home last year we decided it was time to replace our 2 units. From start to finish Chris and his team helped coached us through the process of selecting the proper units and plan for our home with patience and professionalism. Will and his installation team showed up on time and hit the ground running! They did an excellent job with the install. It was a big job and you could not even tell someone was working in our house it was so clean. Great job and would recommend Preferred to anyone looking to have any work done.
If there were 10 red stars I would certainly have used them for TRAVIS. An OUTSTANDING service technician who carefully and thoroughly checked and serviced my Lennox AC/Heating unit. He explained the procedures he was going through and how the system worked. A very knowledgeable young man and it was a pleasure to have him as my service technician today. I have been very pleased with the unit installed by Preferred and their followup service procedure. Thanks TRAVIS for an outstanding job and I would definitely recommend Preferred and TRAVIS for any heating and air condition service and installation.
I am not one to write reviews but after the experience we had with this company I felt obligated to write one. We had the plumbing back up in our house on a Saturday afternoon. We did a Google search and based off their reviews we found Preferred Home Services. They were at our house with in one and a half hours, again, on a Saturday. The technician, Gary C was very professional, polite, informative, thorough and all around did a great job. I will highly recommend this company to anyone! I would think to thank you Gary C and Preferred Home Services again for everything tonight.
