Be careful. I had a positive experience an ARS company many years ago when they installed our original Trane HVAC unit. ARS/Rescue Rooter must be a different company or have new management. They were terrible from beginning to end. I had a scraping noise in my blower motor. I called them Sunday morning, since the advertise Sunday service, hoping to avoid needing to take a day off. A tech called me on Sunday afternoon. After I described the problem, the tech said I would need a new blower motor and they would have one on the truck, but if I wait until Monday they would bring one with them. I took Monday off. They arrived around 4:00 without the motor. They took one panel off to remove the motor. The opening wasn’t big enough, so the tech yanked the motor through a too small opening. He said did not want to charge me for all the extra labor it would take to tear down the unit to create a bigger opening. He found that the blower motor was bad, and that I had to get a new motor, blower drum and electronic blower control unit. The cost was close to $2000. He would have to order the new unit and it would take a couple of days. Of course, he suggested consider buying a new unit and arranged for a salesperson to come over the next night. I got a second opinion, from an HVAC company offering free second opinions. They came over the next morning. They also took out the motor. However, they removed two panels giving them full access to remove the motor. This only took a few extra minutes. After a quick run to the HVAC supply store, they replaced the motor the same day, without replacing the blower drum or electronic control unit. The cost: $600. Needless to day, I cancelled the appointment with the ARS salesperson and will never do business with them again.

I wanted to share my recent experience with the ARS Team who installed my new air conditioning unit back in April, 2012. The unit began freezing up in July and again in September. I called and spoke to Mike Lindsey who made a trip out to my place to take a look at the situation. He told me that they (ARS) would do anything it takes to make sure the unit is working properly. He assigned two technicians, Vince Cox and Lee Jenkins, who spent most of a day working on the unit until they found exactly what the issue was - a failed TXU. They replaced the part as well as added an extension to raise the coils a further distance from the fan. The system is working fantastic now! I was extremely happy with the excellent customer service and the response! Thank You Mike, Vince and Lee!

Installed a new Carrier infinity 17 SEER system: Heat pump and furnace with Carrier infinity touch thermostat on 10/29/2014. Chris Anderson was an honest sale rep. who provided a good contract. Eric C. and his partner also named Eric arrived on time and got right to work. It only took 6 hours straight to complete the job including test run to make sure the units were operated per its specifications. The installation was done professionally and timely manner. ARS helped everything from getting rebate and registered from Carrier and provided certificate of warranty of the product, 10 years parts and labor free of charge. The new system ran so quietly and efficiently which will yield a tremendous savings for a long run.

Excellent service. Upstairs heat pump finally needed to be replaced after 11 years. ARS technician showed me the issue and provided several options, and I chose replacement. They had an estimator here the same day (Sat), and Bert gave us many options but did not try to up- or over-sell anything. I did not feel pressured at any point. Once the unit was chosen, ARS again provided several options for financing and scheduled the install for the very next Tue. Install was 6-7 hours and they arrived on time, set up to minimize debris, worked diligently, and cleaned up when complete. I know there are many that can install new units for less money but the service and warranty is well worth it.

ARS showed up 4 hours late and Charged $89 to say they would have to come back. ARS stated there would be no charge for the next visit. ARS came out a second time and said there would be a $345 charge to estimate the cost of repair. When I told the Technician the office said there was no charge for this visit he called his dispatcher who told him to leave if we would not pay $345. ARS wasted 6 hours of my time in total, charged me $89 for nothing, and I spoke with the company at lease 5 times on the phone and every time they promised exceptional service. I had a terrible experience with this company , ARS, who were recommended by Home Depot. Home owner beware.!

Moe Labriny was the HVAC service technician from ARS that came to perform the scheduled service for my newly purchased heat pump. In addition I signed up with ARS to have a maintenance contract for the existing, older system after I witnessed how thorough and professional service Moe provided. He is very knowledgeable and explained in detail what tasks and routines I had to follow as a homeowner in order to keep both systems in top working condition, allowing me to understand fully the costs and benefits of adequate maintenance. Extremely happy and willing to switch to ARS for all my HVAC needs.

John D. and Daniel from ARS/Manassas did an amazing job on the installation of my HVAC system. I received a call from ARS the night before telling me they would be here between 9 and 10 am and they pulled into my driveway at 9:00 am on the dot. They were unfailingly pleasant, polite, and professional. They took care to respect my home and ensure the installation was clean and did no damage to my home or yard. To the best of my understanding, the work was done carefully and completely. John and Daniel worked hard to provide a highly professional install. I am completely satisfied with their service.

Tim Smith is a very down to earth and common sense technician from ARS of Manassas. I like Tim because when he makes a service call, he is a service engineer, not a salesman like some of the other service people try to be. I believe that Tim is honest. Tim was able to solve a problem with my humidifier which was caused by other ARS technicians. He listens to my description of the problem, and corrected the problem first time. I specifically requested that Tim make this service call because of my prior positive experience with him. I highly recommend Tim Smith from ARS of Manassas.

We made an appointment to have someone come look at our attic fans that were acting up. First, nobody replied to the online booking request. Then, after we called, we were given a window of 12-4 for a service technician to come. After nobody showed up, we called a little after 4 and were told someone was on their way. The next contact we received was a call after 9PM (yes...you read that right) saying the technician was coming. Someone coming over to START working in our attic more than 5 hours late and after 9PM...no thanks. Looks like we will be finding another company to call.

Bernie came to our home to do our spring service. He pointed out to us the issues that our ac coil was having, leaking oil, and the problems that we could have as early as this summer with our unit. We felt very comfortable with him and not pressured. We are having a sales person come out today to make recommendations for a new ac unit, so we do not have to worry about our old unit giving out on us during the hottest day of the summer, which would be our luck. We have been with ARS for over 20 years and highly recommend them.

Steve W was awesome. I have not had any service on my AC in 10 years since the install and he showed me the benefit of a maintenance contract. He was patient and showed me exactly what was going on. He also found a bad capacitor and showed me exactly what was wrong (I took electrical engineering in college and everything he said was spot on when truthfully he could have made it up). He put the meter on various components and showed me exact details. Wonderful experience and he convinced me to renew the maintenance contract

I have had a service contract with ARS since they installed my first heat/A/C system 14 years ago. Generally satisfied but last p/m was awful. Called ARS and they sent out Tim Smith. He was truly professional and found the source of a noise that no one else had found. He redid the preventive maintainance and completely checked out the whole system (a great comfort to an old lady living in the boonies!). I will request that Tim be my regular service tech as I have decided to renew my service contract with ARS. Thanks Tim!

install of new HVAC was excellent However, trying to get them to follow up on warranty repairs was supremely difficult. Repair men showed up multiple times 2-3 hours after their promised window, and without the equipment they were informed they needed before the call was placed. costing me valuable days of work and time off. Requests to talk to a manager have gone without a return call, despite being promised on multiple occasions. I will get my repairs from others from now on even if it means forgoing the warranty.

Roy Kearns is amazing. I called ARS thinking it was a thermostat issue and Roy came over, he was thorough, professional and found the problem is a few minutes. It was the fan motor and because it was under warranty - it cost nothing! they had to order one and it was here the next day. Weather was nice so no need for AC or heat, Roy came back as promised put the new motor in and was finished quickly. unit once again runs awesome. I will ask for Roy each visit now he is incredible! Thank you Roy and ARS.

ARS responded to my call very soon after I called that my air conditioner was not cooling and running continuously. Roy Kearns, the technician from the Manassas, Virginia office was very polite and very courteous. He had to get the correct part and returned a few hours later and fixed the problem. We have used ARS for our bi-yearly maintenance checks for 20 years and they have always been fair and attentive to any problems. I would highly recommend ARS to anyone.

We returned to our home from vacation on a Saturday at 1:00 p.m. to find the temperature inside higher than outside. Needless to say, we determined our HVAC was on the fritz. ARS was the only service provider we contacted that did not give us a run around for an appointment that day. The Technician arrived when scheduled, was courteous and informative, was able to pinpoint the problem quickly and repair the unit. We will definitely use ARS again if needed.

Joe M. came out the same evening I called. He took a look at the system and did some diagnostics. Gave me the bad news, and explained everything in detail. Then he coordinated a virtual meeting between us and Scott, his salesperson. We went over options and features for about an hour. They were both very professional. ARS replaced the system 2 days later. All of the ARS people were very careful of our house during the installation and the system works great.

Roy arrived on schedule and had the situation diagnosed and repaired in short order. He took the time to check out and conduct maintenance activities on the entire system. He was very professional and took the time to explain the issues and what he was doing to make the system function at peak performance. Great service. The system has never run this well. As a result of Roy, we signed up for the home service plan and will be return customers for ARS.

The system was shutting down, no power due to a blown fuse in HVAC system. Every attempt to fix problem resulted in a blown fuse 3 hours after service tech left. Trey spent considerable time testing every line and found the problem and resolved it. Stretched thermostat wires in the attic. Over 50 in years in attic and rubbing against joist bracket caused a short. Amazing he resolved in less that an hour. Very satisfied with ARS.

Bernie Miller is a great HVAC technician...personable, knowledgeable, thorough, and meticulous in his work. He has serviced two home systems for me for a few years and always provided prompt and effective maintenance and repairs. ARS is priced a little high compared to the competition, and their parts and labor contracts are far less generous than they used to be. However, I suppose you get what you pay for. I recommend them.
