shellpoint is the very worst mortgage servicing company i have ever had to deal withf they bought my loan from rushmoore when i was in the middle of a repayment program the first mortgage company (rushmoore)sent me a letter telling me that my loan was sold to shellpoint and that i was to send the next month payment to shellpointand that the current payment was to go to them (rushmoore)now i did what they said but rushmoore mistakenly took two payment out of bank and then sent it to shellpoint when i called shellpoint to tell them of the over payment and the mistake the other company made and that we needed a payment reversal they told me they could not do a reversal due to they would not get thier payment cause the bank would see the two transaction as one so i had to call bank and get it all worked out. the bank informs me that it was two different transactions and were done at different times and they would take care of it .The next thing i hear from shellpoint is that i have a nsf check and that i have to pay a 50.00 check fee because the bank reversed one of the payments that didnt belong to them what a scam and to add salt to the wound shellpoint sends me another letter saying that my escrow account was going to have a shortage and that they are raising my payment almost 500.00 when i asked why such a big jump i was told please hold while we check on it 20 min later the response i got was that my insurance and property tax had gone up as well as a shortage in my account well i check the property taxes and found that they had not gone up and in fact went lower and that they had placed lenders insurance on my account and that i could get cheaper ins pay the shortage and that would lower my payment i was paying 1200 a month on a fixed rate and by the time they got done i was up to almost 1650 but again i could pay the shortage and own insurance and my payment would be 1500 a month i call bs if anything it would be lower but these dumb f#%*s try to talk around you all i can say now is stay far away from shellpoint run run run they are highway robbers that have a bunch of real idiot working there i really hope i can refi just to get them out of my life there not even worth -3 stars but to do review you have to give up something

The customer service has vastly improved compare to last encounter on May 2016. I believed after we spoke with the supervisor Ms Miranda Hendrix the customer serviced appears to be more knowledgeable in dealing with problems and transaction is always done in expeditious manner . Customer service is always courteous in the response but if a problem is not resolved it will discredit every goodwill .Ms Hendrix was able to educate customer better in how to avoid delay in processing as well. No customer has done it. For example she said that i can create an account so I could look out and follow up myself if i want to . Thanks Ms Hendrix. I really hate to bother but it seems that you are the only one who knows the in and out of the process. I do say there is some improvement after I made many calls to you regarding extra payment that was not properly process , it took a month and 3 customer relation i spoke to promise to correct it but unable . you are the only one who was able to correct it and communicate properly the correction that was done. It is a hard earn money and the least I want is it is credited properly. You follow through and you call back and that is really a very rare nowadays.

I have my mortgage with Shellpoint. Generally all that went fine, Really no interaction or issues with them. Than Came the Hail. Shellpoint is just impossible to work with. All my insurance checks are two party. They come to me and I have to send them to Shellpoint. Once I request payment or money from Shellpoint to pay the small business guy who did honest work, things come to a screeching halt. . The loss draft specialist I am working has been condescending, rude, unresponsive and generally useless. They made me purchase a UPS label to ship the check to me. 6 weeks a head of time. Today they say they sent a check yesterday with my purchased UPS label. Nothing arrives, No update to the tracking number. I have guys who have done honest work for me. They deserve to be paid, and shellpoint gives me every delay tactic to delay giving what I was paid by MY INSURANCE COMPANY. I hope someone from SHELLPOINT reads this and reaches out to me because the specialist I have been working with wont return emails. and does not provide updates (like she said she would). I am really discussed with SHELPOINT.

completely messed up my escrow balance twice ... and threw off my payment. My payment went from being $300 higher than my normal mortgage payment to $500 less than my normal mortgage payment. I know the decreased (minus $500) is incorrect because they excluded my taxes for 2016 - their reason "You already paid it for 2016". I explained to them that my payment was for 2015 tax year with a due date for Jan 31, 2016. Anyway that went over their head, and I dont want them make any further errors so I will not ask for a new escrow analysis. I will simply over pay my mortgage payment by $500 each month to add to my escrow and pray it all works out in November/December 2016 when typically my taxes are paid. I also tried to access the web portal via chrome, safari, and IE, but keep getting an error when I try to log in. The rep told me that website doesnt work with Chrome, ( which surprised me cause it use to work chrome). I guess I will send in a payment the old fashion way vs paying online ( I cant access my account online as of now, 1.20.2016)

First let me say that my loan was "sold" 4 times, meaning 4 different servicers. A change in servicers always means a bit of start up chaos. If this has happened to your government owned loan, you must admit this servicer is miles above in talented customer service reps than the last three prior servicers. This is the case for me. I have been trying to update insurance coverage information through the last 3 servicers. Finally, Shellpoint figured everything out and changed the documentation appropriately with one phone call. With the other prior servicers, I made no progress with dozens of calls Hopefully, our government loans will stay in one place for awhile. Then you will see how much better Shellpoint is compared to prior government servicers. Professionally I am in the mortgage business and believe me, Shellpoint is one of the better servicers out there. Anyone remember Countrywide? Raechel H., Sarasota, FL

Shellpoint took over the servicing of my second home in mid-August and I have had a terrible experience. Due to the lack of advance notice, they sent a statement indicating that my September and October payments could be paid together by October 15th with no late fees. So I choose to pay both months together on October 10th, and on October 11th I began to receive harrassing collection calls inquiring where my payment was. When I explained the double payment was made, the customer service rep had no idea that was an option even though it was printed on my statement. Then I received a notice to foreclose on my mortgage on October 12th. Really? I have a credit score of 850 and sizeable assets and income. These people are jumpy and very difficult to communciate with.

initial loan was sold off to shell point which is clearly a mediocre at best mortgage servicing company. customer service is inept. request for CEMA has taken over 12 months with no follow up and required at least 15 calls over the past year. issue is still not resolved. even went so far to report company to BBB and they acknowledged their failure but did nothing about it. i would recommend nobody use this group/company. there are much more capable mortgage companies who can actually service their customers in a timely fashion. it is a shame that companies like this can survive especially based on the rest of the reviews posted.

Terrible!!!!! I would give zero stars if I could. Shellpoint is a terrible company that has no business dealing with money. It took me over 8 months to finally get an accurate mortgage statement after they bought out my loan. My mortgage was always the same until they took it over, and then it jumped $700 a month. Finally after 8 months and almost 50 phone calls always being told different things, my mortgage is back to what it was before they screwed everything up. Their mistake cost me thousands of dollars and even more hours out of my life.

This company is NOT a legitimate loan servicer, they make their money from setting people up for failure and their subsequent actions to foreclose and disposses the property for their big pay day as collectors. Be diligent and know that they are here to make sure your loan is being set up for failure and not proper servicing. They do not respond to any inquiries as to the status of loans they purportedly are servicing. By the way the one star is not a true rating, more like Negative 5.

I received an escrow analysis. Called to find out more details and was told by the rep that this form did not exist in their system yet. How could it have been mailed to me by them if it did not exist yet? What a joke! Also, have NEVER had issues with my mortgage being paid on time EVER with any other company. My mortgage got sold to this company and suddenly my electronic payments are not being made on time? Another joke. Calling customer svc is a waste of time.

I was receiving my statement for a period about 30 days after that period ended which was a bit confusing. In other words, the due date listed on the statements was already several days past due by the time I received the statement. This was fixed with one phone call. I am, however, very displeased that they now started charging money to pay them money, online. So I will write them checks which will be less convenient for both of us.

We had a contract to pay us to move and they have refused to pay or answer any questions for the past 10 days. They all hide behind email and voice mail with lies that do not come true. This is not about the money but how they have jerked me around and it is going to cost them a fortune in a huge house that is now full of mold from a simple lack of electricity because they where incompetent in the way they run the business.

Was very difficult to set up my online account initially, because for some reason my non-existent account had been locked and I had to call technical support--multiple times. Paying online incurs an additional fee. The site will constantly return error pages when trying to log on with other then internet explorer. Is there anything a consumer can do to change mortgage servicing companies or are we all just boned?

If there was an option for no starts, I would use that. This is a terrible institution. I will be removing my business form them. I did not go to them. Unfortunately my loan was sold to them. It is almost like they have person with no experience answering calls. No professionalism. The people there cannot even speak properly. I hated it so much and would beg people to never take your business there

I do not have the experience with automatic debits from this company as I use my bank to send my payments to this company directly. For the past 2 years of having this done, I have incurred no problems at all. Because I never had any problems, there was never any occasion when I had to call customer service. However I am frightened to death by the reviews that I am seeing.

Never got a call back despite leaving repeated messages for the claims department. Shared my info a couple of times w/ a general customer service rep. One rep advised me to overnight all documents to the claims department otherwise it could take months to get my paperwork back. Shellpoint - there has to be a better way!

My first payment completed online and noticed they charge a $2.50 Transaction Fee...this will be the last transaction fee paid to this company while I seek out another financial mortgage lender to refinance my VA loan. Not a fan of fees...I have paid my previous mortgage online and never paid a transaction fee.
