I was very discouraged with Americollect. I received a bill from them in 2012 for $124 (ish). When I called to ask what it was all about they said it was a medical bill from 2004!! Why was I not called or sent a bill earlier than 8 years later!?! I had paid and made arrangements for all my other bills. Anyway, I paid this bill. A couple of months later find that it is on my credit report still. I called to request they remove it and they tell me it can not be done! So, now my credit is affected by an $124 bill that I did not even know exsisted for 8 years and will be on my report for 7 years. I am outraged! Do not recommend Americollect to anyone, EVER!

I had a bill from a third-party medical lab go to collections, despite never getting the bill from the lab or my doctor. After receiving a call from Americollect and a voicemail message from an actual human, I was able to go online and use their real-time chat service to pay my bill within ten minutes. Easy and friendly service, for an unexpected and unpleasant occurrence. Cole, the customer service agent on the online chat, was extremely helpful in answering my questions and confirming what the debt was for.

You have to remember that you can challenge anything on your credit report. If you do this through the reporting agency (Experian, TransUnion, etc) they have to write to the agency responsible for putting it there if they do not answer back in I believe thirty days it has to come off your report. I did this and a lot of stuff was removed. Now remember you have to dispute this with all agencies not just one if they report to all three dispute all three.

It is a collection agency that I received a bill from recently. I was confused at first because I was not aware of any outstanding bills that I had not paid. When I called them and expressed my concern, the person was kind and courteous and never demanded or even asked for payment. Turns out it was a mistake from the hospital.

They do not call in and close it off your credit report. I only owed 45 bucks. That low of a medical bill should have never been turned over in the first place.. I want their name OFF my credit report!!

Crooks and scam artist. I tried doing a settlement but they refused to ask were I worked to garnish my wages.dont tell them were u work.
